  1. The EML light can come on if you run the fuel tank dry. It could be an O2 sensor, or something totally different. You need to find out what code is given. I had an O2 sensor replaced 1500 miles ago after the code for osf sensor came up. My EML is on intermittently again but now with code P1651 (If I recall correctly).
  2. Thanks Ian, I'll give it a try.
  3. :whistling:you could try your breakdown/recovery company if you have full cover. They might do a good deal or maybe you could "breakdown" in it
  4. Will that work on these covers...they are plastic. If so where is it stocked?
  5. Similar problem not long after I got I got my GS430. Dealer replaced the motor under warranty......expensive for the dealer if I recall.
  6. looks like I may have to try and repair mine. It looks as if it has been overtightened, probably more than once, so the plastic sleeve on the inside has split.
  7. Thanks Ian......I dread to think how much it might sell for though looking at current price.
  8. Has anyone got 1 or better still 2 centre hub covers/trims for the Gs430 18" sport wheels for sale or know where I can purchase from?
  9. I had similar problem at one time and found it was caused by my wireless front doorbell, it only happened when parking in certain areas near it.
  10. Low mileage will not always equate to "new" looking seats. Mine has 68K genuine mileage but is used for mix of 12 mile runs and 125 mile runs. You get in and out of the car and shine the seats just as much on 50 short runs as 50 long runs.
  11. AS above, it will fail MOT if it is not fitted.
  12. I'll have to get garage to check. Hopefully they will be able to check if it is loose or anything.
  13. That's a possibility I suppose....certainly worth checking. Is it possible to check in situ? Your input is appreciated. Only done 1300 miles in 6 months so seriously thinking of selling and sticking with 1 car now but I don't want to sell with any hidden faults.
  14. I had already downloaded your 3 PDFs but whilst the fault code is for the VVAI the circumstances leading to the code appear wrong.
  15. Just wondered if sensor could cause it since from what I can find out for the code it should be when in excess of 4700 rpm that the valve comes into play? or am I misinterpreting things.
  16. For the avoidance of any doubt, it's not me. I met him once to do the deal on my LS400 and have had no contact of any kind since, with him or with anyone associated with him. I am just slightly bemused that there is a lot of "there's two sides to every story" on the Smiffie saga, but not with this guy. The only one of us who has actually shaken hands on a deal with the guy is me, as far as I can make out, and he was totally straight with me. In no way was I implying that it was you Christopher. Glad that you appear to have purchased a car that lives up to your expectations.
  17. Changed mileage again!!!!!! I would suspect that he is either a member of LOC or has a mate who is.
  18. OEM fitted (Denso). It was fitted because MIL was on but that was in September, 1,300 miles ago. OSF lamda was replaced and was only just outside tolerances.
  19. Recently had O2 sensor replaced. Over the last 2 weeks the MIL has been coming on some days and not others. Code P1651 showing. Since this is intermittent could it be connected to the O2 sensors. Have tried various driving styles but nothing in particular seems to cause it. Hopefully not the VVAI but any info would be welcome.
  20. ...and the MOT aint a problem as I work at a Toyota dealer, So why would working at Toyota dealer affect MOT ?
  21. But that would also mean that it could be faked on here too.
  22. If it needs cambelt it should cost £295 tops at Lexus dealers under fixed price repairs although that is without tensioner which I think is about £40 ?
