Yeah same happened to mine, you can just bypass that part of the theft unit easy enough and then you don't need to buy a new one.
You'll lose auto lights though
-
Is the seller willing to ship? Can you pm me a link?
-
The rings off eBay etc should fit, I replaced one on my old set
-
Hi mate
The full and dips should both come on when you flash the lights. That's normal.
However your right there's and issue, it's the rear fog light switch or the theft unit. Do you lights come on when you switch the stalk to auto?
You could bypass the theft unit, but you'll lose auto lights, I'd have to check up on the fog switch.

It's goes back to the charcoal filter
-
Just search on eBay mate. There's plenty on there that are cheaper than the katana.
-
I dunno, I recently fitted a set to a mates car, they need a bit of flexing to go in
-
What's the spec on yours adie?
-
That turbo kit is a very good price.. Better then what I found and it includes the turbo itself.. Charger kits also a great price but I cant afford it :(.
I was looking at the IS300 but don't like auto's was looking at altezzas too but a bit pricey for me :/. But depending on how much an ECU is depends if I turbo it yet or not.
Thanks
-Adam
If your cant afford the charger (scam or not) you certainly can't afford to turbo the car. Your looking at at least £5k to get the car up and running.
In terms of ecu, the emanage ultimate is ok, but personally I'd go for something better like aem or link.

From the aircon rad in the dash, just condensation, perfectly normal.
If you lift the carpet in the passenger footwell at the front you'll see the other end.
-
yes theres a thin brace,
-
Yeah bolts already under the car, but I'd spray them with penetrating fluid a day before.
Stiffen it up well
-
i looked for the angle adapter but this adds lenghth to the sensor i need a sensore with longer cable length and shorther body.
no a right angle adapter should be shorter then down at a right angle therefore allowing you the space to fit the sensor.
all sensors are a similar size
-
The sensor is def your problem. It's a known issue with the cheaper eBay manifolds. You can buy a right angle adapter that can solve it.

I found the easiest way was to drill off the rivets

When you unlock the car I'm pretty sure the interior light lights up, you could, tap off this to the fog relay to light them up, needs a diode in or your interior light will light when the fogs are on.
But they'll come on when ever the interior light comes on that way so may not be perfect
-
That's just the cooler, unless your planning on some hard track driving its not needed, just remove the pipe and use a good bit of rubber to join the ends up.
-
It's the sprung part behind the timing belt tensioner. You'll have had a new one in the kit.
-
It's a bit difficult as its under the dash but it can be got too. Let me know how you get on.
-
Right I've just read your other thread as well.
It does look like its the theft unit at fault. What I would do would be cut wires 1 (red/black) and 12 (red yellow) on the theft unit and join them together. Put the relay back in.
That should fix it but you'd lose the auto lights as I said.
-
Which relay is it mate? That the wires go into?
It's up to you on the unit mate. I can have a look and try to figure the fault then you could decide if we work around it or you buy another one.
I'm not a garage or anything just me at my house so whatever, cash, beer not fussed. (Though cash for petrol for mine is appreciated lol)
-
Morecambes about an hour and a half I'd say.
I've done a lot of wiring on my car and other is's so I'm pretty sure I can fix it. Sound like the relay is still getting power it's just reconnecting whatever he's cut and then bypassing a couple of wires on the theft unit.
-
Yeah it's under the dash to the right of the steering wheel
I'm in morecambe if you want me to have a look for you.
-
I had this issue, it turned out to be the security unit under the dash. You can bypass that unit, you'll lose auto lights but they work as normal on the switch.
Whereabouts in lancs are you? I could maybe have a look?
