  1. Thanks to you all, very good responses I'vd had two quotes this morning, one from Hatfield Lexus - £1000 for parts and Labour and one for £650 from a local body shop, but I have to say I'd rather it was done by a dealer for obvious reasons. I am concerned by the 50/50 split as this would appear to be the way the insurance company are thinking. I have a protected NCB and this is my first strike and for the difference between my excess and the Lexus quote I have to say I'm inclined to get it done. Will a 50/50 go down as a fault claim? I guess it will. I've just revisited the junction btw and the middle lane is very clearly a straight on lane, but in line with Lex Bhoy, I suspect it will mean very little in this situation. There were no witnesses I know of, although the driver of the lorry claimed he had a lorry driver passing by give him his number as a witness if needs be!!!! All in all, I've spoken with the owner firm who acknowledge an accident and I know the police were informed of the incident, so I guess I should be happy to have sprayed up and cost me my excess and a strike on the NCB
  2. One quick question Most mornings when I reverse the car and often during other parts of the day, but not always, I get strange creaking and whines out of the car I've tested it with different brake pressures (because I tend to gently brake when reversing on the Auto box), but have no forward brake noises. I've played with the steering too incase its the power steering levels playing up but nothing consitent I'll run it into a dealer this weekend I guess, but wondered if anyone had heard of this or see this, in case it was an obvious thing or not thanks
  3. Thankfully nothing major, but I have two questions: 1) I was at some traffic lights this morning, when I got there the left hand turn lane was empyt (I wanted to turn left) so I pulled to the front and stopped. As it transpired, the lorry in the middle (to the right of the left hand lane) was also turning left but I did not clock this. When the lights turned green, I went and so did he and in I then witnessed the lorry heading for me, so I put my foot down to get out of his way, but he still managed to hit the rear of my drivers side Much shouting and waving of hands later we pulled over, swapped details, but he claims it was my fault and I am undecided if it is or not. I can see his point, blind spot and all that, but I did not see his indicators and even if I did, what's his big mirrors for? Has anyone got any insight or thoughts? 2) I have several scuffs and scratches on the rear drivers side of my lovely IS250. Nothing major, only superficial, but I want them sorted out My insurance is telling me to go to Lexus Body Shop, but on the basis that I may want to do this myself outside of insurance to save the no claims, are they the best person to go to. I live in Hemel Hempstead - are there any good body shoppers out there? Thanks
  4. I average 25mpg on a tank. I commute for most of that and can't see how you can the figure on here unless you never actually use 1st or 2nd gear
  5. So, is it possible to disable the annoying Americanised legal disclaimer that pops up every time I turn my car on? thanks for looking
  6. Right, I shall try that first thing and see if it works Thanking you in anticipation See my next topic, more expert advice needed
  7. Does anyone know where I can buy the clunk click bit (I mean the silver end of the seatbelt) that fits into the unit by the seat. My seatbelts work, but I don't always wear it about town, or in car parks and so on and need to stop the annoying warning sound somehow any help would be appreciated thanks
  8. Just stick your Ipod into Aux, works a treat off playlists
  9. I've only had it a week and I commute into the West End and get 26-27. I had 32 to Bham at the weekend though having said that I drive it like a VTEC to really get it driving
  10. I see, so before I see the dealer, what you are saying is I should select the climate option that has the air flow down and see if this helps? Oh, one other thing. Is the footwell lighting suppossed to stay on, I'm not sure of the point of it personally, however nice it looks?
  11. There are vents below the seat? Do I need to turn them on or something? All I want is air to come through, when the climate control is say on Medium - not having to put it on full blast as it will defeat the object This is really now the only issue I have, having just solved the internal sensor issue?
  12. I took delivery of my Black and black IS250 SE-L this weekend I have doen 500 miles and no major problems to report I do have some points though 1) Handbrake needs a bloody good tug to hold it 2) Really struggling to transfer my phonebook to the Car 3) Headroom is low 4) Air flow seats....? Not sure they actually work 5) The AUX is great but there really is nowhere to put your IPOD, so you can actually use it, playlists it is 6) The build is exceptional, ALL EXCEPT the rather shoddy food rest next to the clutch, mine is falling off already 7) Can't seem to get my alarm sensor switch off button to work That all said - GREAT car Any help on these points would be gratefully received
