Was due to originally arrive 19th, then was told woudl arrive 21st, but today they had a surprise when a black IS250 was unloaded and was told the great news. So although it might be ready by friday, cant pick it up till launch day....maybe I coudl be crazy enough to drive up and look first eh? At least it allows for insurance and registration plate organaization

i generally lock myself in when I get into the car...and normally the missus loks at me when we get out, because i always forget to unlock. Perhaps we should start going vigilante..with cans of coca cola/mace/ash/fine sand to chuck at the would be assailant.

Wow - paul butt in leceister gave some great news today. the car has arrived form japan...and is being unpackaged....So i guess delivery is set for 19th Nov..Wil keep you guys posted!

My question is, if the IS220D becomes a fleet marketed car, and the IS250 affordable only to a handful of private motorist, surely lexus are potentially alienating a large supply of Lexus dedicated drivers, who were not able to afford the IS300 and IS250s, and who previously wre able to afford a decent speced IS200 less than 20K. Not to mention the potential large drop in residuals if the above event were to occur

as far as i know the beemers get 46-48% residual 3 years, Merc, at 49% , lexus at 51-52% not sure how the new entreess fit in

seriosuly steve..what do they need 2-3 days to prepare the car from?? dont they come off the back of a massive car trolley truck of sorts?

i think rear window visibility will prob be poor, and space will be a slightly cramped affair for the 6 footer anglo saxons *grin* no wonder we need rear parking sensors.....

Dealer said - they woudl recieve the car on 21st nov, pickign it up on 25th Nov, so they can "prepare it" - doe sit mean, they have to vacuum and valet/polish it even its from the factory?

yes - its a space saver. they give some spiel that the front and the rear wheel are differnet sizes...and they are NOT run flat. I dont knwo if you can put a normal "full" alloy within. i was unhappy about it as well..but overall the car is good, perhaps pricey with regards on using a space saver which - even with good intentions - majority will see as a cost cutting expenditure....

well - I have to practically give away my baby..Could not get it sold off privately, so its going under the Lexus hammer. getting it part exed at £3750 for a 99 model with 94000 for the new fangled (pricey but hopefully worth it) IS250.

Feel sad..hopefully not for long...(unless me wallet burns a right big hole :))

how about....what kind of mods we shoudl consider for the is250. hehehe - chance of bumping that up to IS300 monster standards?

wish - they had the option for addig HID, blue tooh, rear parking and suspension lowering as an option and not choosen as SE-L or Sport...only

Ah - i forgot to add that is the black IS250...black sticks to bird poo and dust like..errr I have no idea...but working at hammersmith hospital, my newly polished IS200 becomes grey...overnight! :( plus - although i dont intend to do much motorway miles.....the occasional drive back to devon or n wales. means ..chips magnet is apparent..(even with legal or slow driving...)
