  1. Thanks guys for putting some of my fears to rest, I think when i get a test drive i'll pop home with it and check the parking situation for my driveway, length etc. good to know there is a nice solution for ipods id really miss that from my current car. I dont often go to multi stories so i'll just avoid them.

Hopefully see you back here when I get mine, I've not even sat in one yet !! waiting for an obsidian black one, love that paint job

  2. Hi all, I've been looking up the LS600h L recently always fancied one but never got the chance, currently I'm driving an IS300h F Sport but I find it uncomfortable! im looking at a 2008 model as these are in my price range really, my questions are

How are these cars when it comes to parking? driving around multi story car parks and getting in and out of a typical semi detached drive way?

How far and how fast can you drive in EV mode is it the usual 1 mile and upto 20mpg?

last question, if you have one of these how are they for current nav updates, does anyone have a DAB radio solution and Ipod connection in an early 600h?

    Thanks

    Brett

  3. I basically removed the whole console and drilled a small hole for the USB cable to fit through, this does leave a hole where the USB port used to be but it's reversible if needed.

It's fairly simple to remove the console. Some bolts under the leather bits on the sides where your legs rest and some more under the felt at the bottom of the storage area.

    Hopefully the pics will help

  4. Hi Brett, this looks a really interesting piece of kit (having googled it myself like the other Geof) i have noticed though that the guages are on sale at quite a variance in pricing, from really really cheap, through £79 up to £125.00. Which did you opt for and what influenced your choice. Thanks.

I just went for the standard scan gadge 2

Got mine from eBay for 90 quid

  5. Today I managed to disable the annoying reversing beeps myself using a scan gauge II

Fairly simple and now it just beeps once when you engage reverse.

The scan gauge plugs into the OBDii port ans monitors rpm fuel Battery etc

Finding it very useful in helping me change my driving style to get more mpg :)

Also means I have a real time rev counter as well as a multitude of other readings you cannot get from the car otherwise.

  6. Got fed up of opening the flap and having wires hanging out so I've relocated my USB port to the arm rest hole. now the iPod can hide in there, ready for action with nothing on show. how it should have been in the first place to be honest.

  7. Finally my sills arrived from the USA, had to pay £36 in import taxes :(.

Fitting them was very easy, the rear ones just snap in place 30 second job.

the fronts are illuminated and pull the power from the footwell lights, all in all took around 25 mins to fit all 4 of them.

I have to admit that the original EL ones I had on my IS 200 were more impressive but they were quite a bit harder to fit too.

P.S. forgive me for the dirtiness of the car, I know it's unacceptable !!! but I just couldnt wait any longer to get them on the car.
