  1. I have a March 2006 SC430 (facelift version with LED rear lights and Bluetooth etc) and for the past few weeks the alarm has been going off randomly after being parked for 10 - 20 minutes. The strange thing is it doesn’t do it every day and even more strange is that it has done it 4 or 5 times whilst parked at work but only done it once whilst parked on the drive at home. It is still under warranty but I was just wondering if there is a simple solution to the problem (apart from not setting the alarm) before I make a fool of myself at the Lexus dealer. It may be going off when we park at shopping centres etc. where there is no one to let you know as we only know it is going off at work because people come and let you know as they know it is your car.
  2. We need to know the age of the GS as the early one's used CD's and after 2000 (X reg onwards I think) used DVD.
  3. One week to the day after damaging my screen I have just had a call to say a screen is now in stock but cannot be fitted until Saturday. It is a good job the current screen was still intact and the car legal to drive otherwise I would have been off the road for 8 days which is longer than if I had been in a rear shunt My advice to new GS owners is to warn your local dealer of the lead time on a screen and try to persuade them to get at least one in stock, they are bound to need it sooner or later. :winky:
  4. Lexus Park Lane reckon they can fix it straight away using their regular windscreen people (Fosters, I think). ← My screen has a crack in front of where the passenger sits three inches above where the window wipers park and it goes all the way to in front of the steering wheel (about 18 inches), Autoglass say this requires a full screen replacement not a repair and there is not a screen to be found!
  5. I have the 2004-2005 v1 and no post code input is possible on the IS200 but the nav system on the new GS300 does allow you to input the first 4 digits of the postcode.
  6. I got 34 on my first run on the M1 from Sheffield to Wakefield. Wife is getting 26/27 going to work and back (5 miles each way) but I am currently getting zero as I need a new windscreen already and no one has got one, see new topic titled New GS300 windscreen.
  7. Had the new GS300 for six weeks and with 900 miles on the clock a stone on the M1 has cracked my windscreen. I phoned Autoglass and they said it would take a week to get one. I phoned Lexus Sheffield and they said they would have to get one from Belgium. I phoned Lexus GB and they said it was a local dealer issue. So if you have a new GS and your screen shatters or a crack impairs your vision you may be off the road for a week while a screen is sourced for you. This is a fundermental flaw in the supply of a new model in this country as it means if you purchase a new model, whatever you do don't let a stone hit your screen for six months while they sort out the supply of screens. I would like to hear new GS owners responce to this and more importantly any sort of reply from any Lexus dealers reading this as I am not a happy customer at the moment. I will keep you posted regarding the outcome of this and how long it takes to sort out. PS Is any one else claiming the first UK new GS windscreen?
  8. It's called Flint Mica or Cypress Pearl in the USA see http://www.lexus.com/models/gs/gallery_exterior_colors.html I have now seen every colour in the flesh and my personal opinion is that Mesa Red LOOKS the best colour when they are all side by side. PS every other car on the road is silver!!
  9. Every time I ring Lexus customer services everything that you want to happen suddenly happens! :winky:
  10. After further investigations it appears that Lexus are doing what is called a "conquering" exercise to attract non Lexus owners, so unfortunately a BMW or Merc (spit) driver would probably get a better deal than a Lexus driver.
  11. 2% discount from your Lexus dealer for being an existing customer or 4.5% discount from drivethedeal who don't know you from Adam, I think dealers should look after their customers a little better and stop the hard luck stories about "supply and demand" and "there's not a lot in it to play with". I have been a Lexus owner since 1999 and now have both a GS300 and an IS200 but I bet I got the same treatment from the dealer as any non Lexus customer off the street. Dealers please give us some brand loyalty discounts.
  12. I have managed to get some prices from the internet based "Drivethedeal.com" The prices are all including metalic/mica paint. GS300 SE £34730 OTR GS300 SE with sunroof £35538 OTR GS300 SE-L £36725 OTR Basically you order the car from www.drivethedeal.com they pass the order to a Lexus dealer and from that point you deal with the Lexus dealer. You are supposed to keep the identity of the dealer a secret.
  13. I have started a thread entitled New GS Discount. I paid £38,375 and only got full tank of fuel boot liner and Superguard. Having told me there was no discount on the car they then showed these free items as a discount. :duh: Can anyone confirm that the SE-L has a sunroof, one dealer told me it was an option but Sheffield say it is standard on the SE-L along with spoiler, 18" alloys and Levinson Hi-Fi.
  14. Ordered my new GS300 SE-L last week and was told there was no discount available on the new GS range at present. All I managed to squeeze was a full tank of fuel a boot liner and Superguard on the vehicle. With hindsight I should have asked for some servicing vouchers but alas too late now. Anyone manage any price discount? I was originally going to trade my MkII GS300 in but I got a better price private, so the deal was done with no trade in. I am sure this will be useful information for anyone thinking of buying in the next few months.
