  1. Hey folks!!! I'm just about to add a second amp to run the 6x9's on the parcel shelf and believe I need a distribution block to help split the wires to each amp. My question is how many will I need, and how are all the wires split between the 2 amps? Also, what kind of distribution block will I need with regards to inputs and outputs? Thanks in advance :)
  2. Seems like the amp is dead, nothing happens at all when the wires are connected, but they still work in the old amp. Ah well, he'll just need to buy a new one. Not my money!!
  3. The fronts are 6.5" / 16 cm. You'll also probably need a spacer for the new speakers, or just use the original speaker surround, but you'll need to cut out the old speaker first (thats what I done, and you don't even have to remove the bolts from the speaker. I just cut it straight out and screwed in the new ones ;) ). There is a guide in the workshop section too mate
  4. Cheers mate. Will try tomorrow coz its a bit dark :shutit: and the shops are shut lol
  5. Thats what I was thinking. The earth works fine in the old amp, but the guy he bought the amp from lost the original screw for the earth hole, and replaced it with a plastic one. So would it just not be making a good connection??
  6. OK, I'm a bit confused. I'm trying to wire in a new In Phase amp into my brothers car. We wired his old one in no problem, but now with this new one things aren't going well. When we turn the car on, the amp won't turn on. So I was in the middle of taking the wires out to find a problem, and when we took the earth out, the amp turned on!! Realising I forgot to disconnect the battery, I done that, put the earth back in, reconnected the battery, and the amp didn't work again?!? Any ideas...? Thanks
  7. Thanks for all the help guys. Went for the option of wiring it into the remote wire and works a treat. Looks reat at night and in the day time. gonna fit a second strip tomorrow to the top half of the ski hatch, just to give the blue light an even distribution :winky: Hodaz, the dimentions of your box would be great mate. Best to have the boot install just how you want it, rather than just 'making do' I love this forum, everyone is just so helpfull!!!!!
  8. So i don't need the negative feed? (sorry, I don't have a clue about this stuff lol). Also, what size fuse should i use? I put in a 15, but would that be too big? Thanks
  9. Ok, i bought this; http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=444 How would i wire this in from the remote wire into a plus and negative to solder to the led strip?
  10. Is that just the blue wire running from the head unit to the amp? I'm pitting the LEDs just under the ski hatch, so you won't be able to see it with the boot open, so I'd rather have it come on either with the lights or with the stereo. Thanks for all the help guys
  11. Ah, sounds good matey. Is it easy enough to find the right wire to tap into?
  12. OK thanks, think I'll just leave it how it is just now. Also, whats the best way to wire in an LED strip, so that its on when you turn the car on? Thanks
  13. Hi guys, I've just finished putting new components in the doors and new 6x9s in the parcel shelf (thanks to the walk through on the forum :winky: ), and am about to start a boot build. I have a double sub box at the moment and want to turn it round so its facing out the ski hatch (which I just took off) with some blue LEDs. What I want to know is, if I modify the front of the box to a squashed 'V' shape, with the 2 subs pointing towards the ski hatch, will this affect the sound quality? A friend at work said it would, but I'm not sure... :duh: Thanks for any help
  14. yeah happened to a couple of people round at my local blockbuster too. I just decided to get my copy during my lunch. Was up to early to wait lol. Was quite surprised at the amount left for the 360. PS3 version was sold out though.
  15. Yeah I can't wait too. Only problem is, i got the F-ing RROD, so I need to send my xbox to Microsoft to get it fixed. I'll be without it for about 3 weeks, but I'm still picking up GTA4 tonight lol.
  16. Lol, yeah its the leather one. Cheers mate!!
  17. Does anyone know if the black TRD gearknob is a screw on like the original chrome gearknob, or if it is wee screws? Thanks
  18. Had a quick blast through Kirkton Campus, Livingston, with me this morning (way to early!!!) Just wondered if it was anyone on here?
  19. Thanks Wozza. This WILL be done at the weekend lol. Going to get a small peice of wood and shape it to the same shape as the cup holder, then drill a hole and groove for my iPod wire and my iPod, and it should be nice and snug, and not rattle about!! Don't like rattles
  20. Excellent. Cheers mate. Will give that a go on Saturday. Going to try to build a wee mount to sit in the cup holder to stop the iPod sliding about too. Just to tidy things up a bit. ;)
  21. Hi guys I'm going to install my iPod into the cup holder beside the handbrake at the weekend, and just wondered how to remove the centre console so I can get the iPod wire from my head unit to come out in the cup holder. Until now its been living out of site in the slide out tray where the tracion control/snow buttons are!! Any help would be much appreciated.
  22. It was snowing quite heavy here in Livingston. Dying down a bit now though and starting to rain
  23. hi mate. when i installed mine i thought of the same problem. but i just used the same clear sealant to fill the holes and haven't had any fogging problems since i put them in 1 year ago. hope this helps malky
