  1. The Sport was and is a UK spec only. The engine in the Sport is the same as the other models. Same goes for the transmission and brakes. The Sport had 'cosmetic' differences such as the spoiler and changes to the wheels/tyres sizes and lower suspension height. Check out the Lexus site: www.lexus.co.uk/approved.php?area=gs_archive&model=gs300sportmk1 The GS archive on the site has specs for all the variants: www.lexus.co.uk/approved.php?area=gs_archive The GS models should all be as quick in a straight line but the Sport model should hang on better in corners.
  2. I rememember that the sensor for the IS200 was in the passenger compartment light fitting and could be activated by banging the roof of the car. Could be a cat sitting on the roof.
  3. Does anyone know if you can get heated washer nozzles for a Mk2 GS300?
  4. I used to get about 25-27mpg from my IS200, but that was only because of the economy gauge in the fascia that kept dipping to 10 so I would leave off for a while. I get about 21mpg from the GS300. Town traffic is worst. I am sure I can hear my wallet wince when I floor it in power mode. But hey you have got to have some fun.
  5. Has anyone had problems with the cruise control not resuming after it has been cancelled or the brakes applied. Mine seems to work only some of the time.
  6. I have an intermittent fault on a Mk2 GS300. The display seems to lose part of the LCD elements making up the numbers/letters for the radio & CD. Sometime they are there and sometimes they are gone or very feint.
  7. I have the same with my IS200, but from the rear after a quick (ie fast) trip. I thought that it was the straps on the exhaust, but it seems to be the tyres (Yokohamas) which get hot to the touch!
