  1. I have a Asus eeepc for one purpose only, to use with my obdII reader. Had to install XP over the Linux though. The obdII reader is always connected to the car, so all i have to do is plug in the Asus. Personally, i would go for the Acer aspires one rather than Asus as it's got way more HD space. I mean, my asus has 20gig HD space, which means i can't upgrade xp to SP3 lol, but theres no real need for me. N series phones almost have as much memory space as the Asus lol

  2. Yes, leave car in gear. Plus the fact it's not safe to "drive" car in neutral. Bascially if you know the route like the back of ur hand than you know when not to press the gas pedal anymore and let the car reach the junction on it's own, with least braking as possible. I can honestly say i'd be surprised if anyone can drive the route that i use for the past 3 yrs to be more efficient than me lol. Know every bump in the road, when to change gears, what gear i should be at by certain point. I never let the revs reach 3000rpm at any time and never reach above 60mph in 6th gear. Im sad, but you need something to think about when your on the road for 2 hrs a day lol. Oh also i never fill the car up ever, always fill half way which was £30 a week for me, but now petrols gone down i get an extra day or two a week, bonus! lol.

  3. I've had this problem for the past 2 Yrs. Just as you say, except if mine doesn't start first turn, it will always start on the third turn, never second turn...always start at third turn. Car could be cold or hot, makes no difference, happens roughly once to three times a month, really random, wet, dry day makes no difference. Posted this probem ages ago but no real solution, until now that is (well it worked for me), had the car in for a 70k mile service and told them to stick in set of denso ik20s in. I've never had the problem since and it's been 3 months now and never missed a beat. Maybe it's the plugs in my situation, maybe the mechanic done something during the service...who knows, but mine always starts now. Incase ur wondering yes it used to do it before the 60k mile service and still did it after the 60k mile service, and the service was done by Lexus, the 70k mile service was done by a garage on the same road as lexus, but 50% cheaper.

I'm just wondering whether the non-lexus garage disconnected the Battery for some reason thereby rebooting the ecu. Just a theory.

They didn't disconnect the Battery as all my radio station was still in memory (after market stereo) and the time was correct when i got in the car. Also on the service sheet they cleaned out the fuel filter. Maybe it's been collecting the dirt at the bottom of the tank, because i do only fill up half way each week and by the end of the week it's towards the last line in the fuel gauge. Either way i believe the spark plugs cured the problem, expensive but it gives me the piece of mind knowing i know it will start when people are with you in the car lol.

  4. Knew this had to happen one day, but i guess it can't be helped, except someone buys the thing and leave a feedback to say its avaliable here at LOC!! What am i talking about?

Someones selling information on how to program an is200 keyfob...no doubt it's probably from this site. The irony is that he even states he's not tried it himself lol. Hmmm, he even says you may need to re-programme the key if "....changed your key fob battery". I've changed mine once and i never had to re-program the keyfob, or does that only happen if you leave the Battery out of the key for long period of time....2 weeks?

  5. With the prices of cars going down, i think the only way to stop barrys getting the use of lexus is the high insurance lol. On a serious note my insurance is about £350 (£350 excess) including mods, and it was about the same last yr. I Think it gets to a point where it won't go down anymore. I think adrian flux will quote you a better quote as they insure drivers that are most likely to mod their cars. I was with directline for the first 2 yrs (think it was £600, had no mods than cos i wasn't with LOC lol), until i found adrian flux and now im staying with them (unless they bump it up like in urs). Don't forget, if ur a gold member here to get something like £15 off!

  6. I just ordered my aerotwin the other day. They're sitting in the boot until my old wipers stop working (some cheap brand and used for over 1 yr, but are doing the job just fine!). Never thought about other products to stop rain from collecting on windscreen before i read this which im sure would help. Can anyone recommend a decent product that keeps the rain off the screen to make it easlier for the wipers?

  7. Sorry, missed this thread! I'm useless at things like this, never know what to say or what to do, but i sincerely hope you will find the strength to carry on and don't give up with what life has to offer. Cherish what you have and what is around you now. I'm sure your mum don't wish for you to be unhappy as she gazes down from the heavens above. Make her proud, be strong! RIP Mrs Bones!

  8. Hi guys/gals,

Just need some advise. My dad has an old Merc (12 yrs old, but done like 24k) and he hardly ever drives it. Hes been away on holiday and not be expected back for another 3 months or so (the bliss of retirement lol). When i went to check if the car is ok i noticed that the front offside has gone flat, from lack of use. Will probably need new tires as its flatten it. So is it good idea to jack it up and place bricks underneath the car (either jacking points or axels) so to take the pressure off the 4 wheels/tires?

    cheers.

  9. If you post ur girlfriend on a forum, unless she is reasonably attractive, then expect insults. You know when someone is trying too hard and it makes the situation worse than it is. I mean, what has she got to cover up? In this instance, i will stick to "if i have nothing nice to say, than say nothing at all". There is nothing i can say about his girlfriend!

  10. Found this link that shows where the lpg filling stations are. HERE. From what i can see theres only a few and none of them are within a few miles of where i drive. They really need to invest more into LPG stations and making it more readly avaliable to the general public, that way it's easy for lpg users and provide awareness. BUT the down side to all this would be, if there's a huge/growing demand the price will go up and probably within a few years LPG will be as expensive as petrol!! Hence why petrol has gone down in price recentely, it's the public demand that drives the prices of things. Everyone is getting rid of their high litre cars and now people require less petrol, so the price of petrol goes down...petrol here at south east is at 92-97p a litre, i remember it was £1.04 at one point just 3 months ago. Countrywide is nowhere near me unfortunately.

  11. That kind of thing happened to me but i was actually moving in slow traffic (10-15mph) with window open and some gizza in a white van (not stereo typing btw, it just so happens that he was in a white van lol) coming from the opposite direction towards me and he flicked his fag end out of his window. It missed my car, but it just seem so personally at the time i stared at him while he drove past, so i can relate to what happened to you. There are some things that ticks people off and this kind of thing must be one of them cos it can be taken the wrong way. But from one bad momment to another, just 200 yards down the road i saw a lexus is200 and i though woo..another IS200, so gave way. Had a quick glance at the driver and it was this beautiful brunette (wasn't you Lexus2D was it lol?) and she blew me a kiss!. Needless to say my heart melted and my ego shot straight up and i was happy again lol.

  12. I was looking into this a while ago, the only problem is finding a filling station that does LPG near me or at least near where i work ( i travel roughly 35 miles to and from work everyday). Also do you know how much weight will be added to the car when the lpg is filled or as a standalone. Another thing that concerns me is that are LPG here to stay or will companies start investing into other renewable resources and rendering LGP obsolete?

  13. Hi guys came across this on flea-bay...HERE

    Item number: 130267158255

I know they are rare, but i think thats a bit steep..i would maybe pay around £80 max for a new set, considering that these have the tendancy to go wrong. One member on here (sorry forgot his name) is on his 3rd pair within a very short time span. Anyone else have these in their car and how long have they been working?

No offensive to the seller ofcourse, if he can sell it for that much, good on him cos i got a pair for front and rear (front ones cut to fit rear) , both not fitted yet.

  14. Hi,

Just want to ask if anyone knows if a TV licence is needed if i decide to install them freeview boxes for the car, you know the ones...flea-bay Item number: 290268921616 ? Also anyone got one installed in their car and if i need any additional equipment (aerial booster etc). I already have a 7" screen with AV input not being used.

    Cheers!
