Yeah thats the only thing that scares me about my car ( and the price i get charged for a service)...everytime i get in i get paranoid, thinking...will it start or not. I've also made sure all check lights are out before i start, only plug the key in when the immobaliser lights is not on (between the flashing). Crazy i know but it really does it when it likes lol. Ok m8, let me know if they find a solution as i would love to know. (confession time) I got so ****** about it once, when it didn't start first time or second time and started the third time, i just slammed my foot down on the accelerator and rev'ed it to max from cold...but hell i couldn't sleep that night lol

Its that time of the year when the lights are getting used alot more than in summer, so can anyone recormmend me some side lights? As the one i got with Xenon bulbs pack is rubbish, the main beam and (whatucallit, the really bright headlights are fine), but for some reason the side lights are so dull its pointless, so i decided to get seperate side lights. I got these LED type from eBay (item numnber 250195536483). But after only using them for about 6 hrs one has already gone. So i thought maybe its just a one off chance it went, so i ordered another pair so i can replace the side thats gone. But 3 days later the other side is now gone also (so right now i have no side lights, but i don't think its a huge problem, just means i have to use main beam). Too late to cancel my order for these LED ones as now im just wasting my money as im replacing them faster than i can order them! Cheers..

My does similar (a problem which i have posted ages ago and still have it from time to time, like once or twice a month). Car won't start with first turn and no matter what u do, it never starts second. But always starts the third time. Tried everything when it doesn't start the first time, tried (taking key out, swopping it round, leave it for 20 seconds, turn it for longer, wipped the key etc etc) but like i said when it doesn't start first time , theres noway i can get it to start the second time, but third starts like normal. Its not the Battery, its not sluggish etc etc. It can happen at any time, while its cold, while its been driven so its hot, warm. So the only thing i can think of is that it needs better earthing. Which probably means purchasing earthing cables from "starkys?" m8 on eBay. But i think its a unique problem and i don't think it will be solved as its hard to replicate on the spot and advice given to me is to just live with it as its not damaging anything (i hope not) and it could cost time and money changing different parts and not solve the problem.

Does this cause the same problems as this thread if water gets into the footwell?

Lights staying on

Mines been doing this since i had the car and its a 2000 V plate Navigator sport funny enough? But only does it in 1st when i pull off sometimes in the morning after that its fine but it doesnt do it all the time mainly on cold or damp mornings? I was told about this judder when i was looking for a lex over 2years ago and from what i know the newer models dont do it for some reason? When i brought mine i never felt it happen untill it got a bit colder it still does it now and again but not as often so not sure what causes it i'm afraid??

The last time i had that problem, it was caused by a seized front caliper, it would judder when going from stationary. Had to replace caliper and pads for both side, luckly the disc was fine.

Will this fit the other inside light as well? how much did u pay for it, cos im thinking about changing mine?

Nice guide, only thing i'll mess up on is keeping track of the dials after you take the pin off. Anyway, is there going to be a group for this?

I always thought 6th gear is the most economic..i even miss out 5th gear and go from 4th to 6th. I will check when i next use the car on motor way and see where the mpg is on when im doing 60-70mph. I don't really pay much attention to the mpg gauge tbh as i always though its too eractic...i prefer the one on my toyota...a green eco light comes on lol j/k

I prefer the circular motion as it evens out the wax better than forward and backward motion. Going back and forwards only strips away the wax so to speak...think when they do womens facials (place funny comment here...) they use circular motion..

But one tip i will use from above is to do one part at a time and see the result, as i normally do the whole car..let it haze up then buffer off.

You done a good job there, nothing beats standing back to see the car you have spent 2 hrs cleaning lol.

I used the same product last week, you must have bought the pack that has both the shamppo and liquid wax (with free applicator). I found the result to be good, but after being left out for one night, the wax felt like it wasn't there the following morning after a 30 minute drive (with very light drizzle). Maybe i was too stingy with the wax and should apply more. But after i used up the liquid wax im going to use Dodo Juice Banana Armour Carnauba Hard Wax, as i believe the wax coating will last longer than Meguiars liquid wax.

Well they got the payment i sent them and it arrived very quickly indeed...but.......the lip has a nasty crack that runs along at the bottom towards the front, where it has started to split into 2 cracks, like "Y" shape. So ive emailed ep racing about it and deciding on wether to keep it or return it. The problem is the split is about 7cm long, which will need repairing (if i was to keep it). Can fibreglass material be "repaired" so it can be painted over without the paint cracking?

Is this just a minor repair job as i don't have any knowledge of bodywork procedures?

Story so far....emailed them from the address they had on the website (also same as what aztecbandit1 gave..cheers btw) and got a reply the next day saying they haven't recieved any questions from me via eBay, or payment. So i decided to cancel the payment from ebay/paypal and made it directly via paypal "send money" with item number instead. That went through to the bloke called Jeff and is complete, so i don't know what happened on eBay, never had this problem b4..anyway hopefully they will have got the payment and will send me the front lip. Also told the epracing to double check their items are going through as there maybe a glitch somewhere with their name being not confirmed in eBay..

Aftermarket ECUs (how much?)...never knew you could get them and didn't know you had to remap the ecu if an induction kit and exhaust was involved (what happens if you don't get an aftermarket ecu and remap it?). Also when you say remap it is it something lexus/toyota would do for a price, or would they just go, NO to? sorry about highjacking the post but many more questions have been opened up and i want answers!! lol

OMG...i had my windscreen replaced like 3 months ago by autoglass and upon reading this im getting worried (plus the fact i replaced my bonnet with a carbon one and its been raining a few days on a trot), so does anyone know how to prevent this from happening? and maybe take a few pictures and naming a few things to look out for and do to prevent this from happening...£200+ for repair would kill me over towards xmas!!

hiya mate, i know the two guys who run/own the company. EPRacing is literally a 1 minute drive from my house. I was there last week as it happens, looking at a roof spoiler and front lip, but have put them on hold for a while whilst i sort other bits and pieces out.

You're lucky to live so close to a shop that has lexus mod parts! lol. i bought the Toyota Lexus IS200/IS300 TS-Style Front Lip.

Has anyone bought anything from this company (http://www.epracing.co.uk/) before, im sure its the same company on eBay? Cos i've email them on eBay before a while ago asking if i would get any discount for being a LOC member and never got a reply so i didn't bother buying it. Since then its been on a few times and gone (the item im after anyway). Now its on discount, so i thought i'll ask again, again no reply, so i thought, what the heck it's on discount anyway lets buy it. It's been the third day now and i've already paid (got it on buy it now), but for some reason it's on pending (looks like waiting for them to accept my payment), i've already asked why its taking 2 days just to accept my payment (now it's the third day..). So im thinking about cancelling my payment as it seems dodgy (as "The recipient of this payment is Unregistered" in paypal). So my question is wether anyone has bought from them on eBay before?

Another note...why they disable the right click function on their website (i intended to copy their email address so there won't be any mistakes being made)? To stop ppl copying their images?!? its already downloaded once you load the webpage anyway...

Got the ones from Prolex, think they're made by FIGS. You just have to be careful when its about to close as the struts have no way of keeping the weight of the bonnet and can slam at the last 30cm or so (which it has done..twice) lol.

Have you got any more details on the valves? I like those a lot B)

Yeah they're Richbrook Flush Fit wheel valves, got them from eBay. Just checked on there, but theres none about. But heres a link to an example.

Yeah, not many people like white wheels on a platinum lexus. Think it looks extra odd as i have no body kit and like you said its very bright contrast compared to platinum colour, but i'll keep the white wheels as winter wheels and maybe change back to standard colour later on down the line or even buy a new set of alloys in maybe 18" or 19".

Got some pictures of the car at last, but weather wasn't the best, very cold and cloudy. At least i got to wash and wax my car b4 it started to rain. Also got the white alloys on this weekend which is a bonus.

Offside has gone up slightly after installing the struts, but i can live with it.

Nearside has slightly more of a gap than the nearside (mostly by the front windscreen end). Not checked yet but maybe i can adjust the bonnet catch slightly to the nearside (if there is any adjustment of any sort).

I really like the flat chrome valve, which i discovered by accident a few weeks back while searching air valves to go with white alloys.

The bonnet actually takes some getting used to and in the images it doesn't do it any justice as in real life you can see the carbon material shining rather than it looking like i sprayed the bonnet black, or is being primed. Its also the first time i used maguires liquid wax. Smells really fruity and much better finish than the turtle wax i used before, but the next step is to use dodo juice. In all im very happy with the mods and i've already got a TS style front lip on order, which i won't put on until i gather together all the side skirts and rear bumper. I have yet replaced the wheel caps, which is also white.

Installed the CF bonnet last week, took me about an hour and a half. Most of the time was spent filing the jet washer holes as they were way too smal to fit the OEM ones, but apart from that everything fitted pretty neatly. I left out the sound damping material and the plastic seal at the front. Just got the struts from Prolex in record time, so gonna install them this weekend...bet it bloody rains again!! Will post pictures, but probably get diss'ed by Wozza for spoiling a perfectly nice platinum colour lexus with carbon hood LOL.
