Well to be honest, Steve and Charlesworth and Dave from Prolex did do all they could to get it up and running when things didnt go stright to plan..but with all prototypes, things dont always go to plan 1st time out... and its not the biggest problem in the world... Im sure it wont take too long for a solution to be found.. I think it was mighty good for me to be given the TTE kit while a solution is found... i mean i dont think theres many on here that have such a positive experience when doing mods and things in the garage dont go to plan.. so im very grateful and have a very high regard for steve and dave, remembering im not the easiest customer to deal with, being in France... -

Yeah it will be... just got to be a little patient, but it was also a great solution (thanks Charlesworth) to get the TTE kit while i wait for a solution for the airbox... -

Im in the UK... in Stockport... Abit of a setback... The car has been running today with the charger, however the intake is VERY loud.... VERY... from what ive been told and heard on the phone. And with such a long drive back to France... it isnt staying on the car for the moment... putting a TTE on for now, and then when a solution is found for the intake, ill be back for this and the e-manage with it being mapped at Noble...and maybe some more, depending when a solution is fabricated... -

Well all was sent directly to Charlesworth so not sure... The guy said he sent it on a cd in English.. will have to ask Steve... Yeldarb, I can fully recommend going for the conversion with Prolex/Charlesworth for the organising aspect.. im in France and managed it without much difficultly, thanks to Prolex and Charlesworth... as to the gain factor.... well hopefully next week will answer that leaving you with no doubts. . . . . :winky: -

I would mate but think i would rather spend the money on a 2.5 twin turbo soarer at the moment, as my IS is starting to get a bit old now and could do with a good overhaul? But if an SC does pop up after xmas i might be tempted But when you start the modding... its addictive... you might find yourself in trouble.. Especially if a s/c was to pop up.... -

Hey, Well the e-manage arrived as promised on tuesday... steve got all the parts for the charger (custom parts) mid week and yesterday, so now its the assembly, and then off to Noble... and then the pleasant drive to WIM for the super drive home... Am flying back over tuesday! I think a few on here have seen it in Steve´s garage... Very good mate, i was just having a read about your lex again and thought i'd ask :D Not had chance to pop over to the garage yet, but hopefully get the chance to catch yourself and lex before you head back :) cool.... Gord was over and saw it... just mailed me tody to say it was looking good.... Cant wait to get my hands on it though.... Would be cool to meet up! And cheers for the interest! Be good to see it up a ruuning mate and a big smile on your face :D Plus my lex is starting to look quite rare now, being as its one of the only Aztec fire ones on the club without a supercharger fitted :D Haha Your not tempted then?? -

Well looks like were going down the e-manage and mapping route now... So will be probably going to Nobles for mapping on the e-manage ultimate after its been fitted at charlesworth. Think the e-manage wil be useful anyway for the work being done through Pro-lex at easter. With it going for mapping, looks like it will be a little later than planned... -
Tte Intercooler Upgrade/replacement

The reason its better is that the air is denser on a cold day.. so there are more molecules of air in a given space giving a better compression ratio in the chamber for combusting.. (so in theory is should be more repsonsive with less throttle on a cold english day than on a hot spanish day) density is the mass divided by the volume. (comes from jet engine theory but same theory for combusting gases) -
Its not the figure, its the stress on the engine. You could have 1bar of pressure and c**p fuelling and only have 200bhp but still the same pressure on the pistons so they'll snap. But 0.5 bar pressure, decent fuelling and be putting 250-260 out and the pistons may be ok. Or you could have 0.3 bar decent fuelling and be putting down 230bhp Haha.... I wonder who has that?? Well mapping also so will see what comes out of it... and thanks for the explanation... everyday is a school day! :winky: Edit.. just saw that, thanks Dave...
-
The magic figure that seems to be always quoted on here is 250bhp.... Most think this is the limit for a standard engine, but my info only comes from reading threads and info from those with experience, of supercharging, but like you say, each engine will have slightly different tolerences depending on its age, abuse to date etc...

Ive no internals done and its looking like ill be running 0.5!!
