I have no issue replacing the O2 sensor, but the engine check light is not coming on .. so I would like to think all the sensors are fine. However I will take ur advice and if the problem continues .. I'll just sell of the car!!

Hi guys, I having a very annoying problem with my car. As the subject suggests above, I’m having a serious power lose issue every time I rest the ECU or when I tune the car up. Example: 5 days after a full tune up … the car (IS 300) will be working fine (accelerating with relative easy), however within 3 -4 days time … my car begins to strain ( is accelerates like a truck). Possible issues: My engineer check light is not on, however if I perform a diagnostic test, the computer said I need to replace both O2 Sensors. Help need: Guys this issue has been going on for a year .. I’ve reach my limit .. I may sell my baby if this issue continues. Thanks in advance for any advice or resolution.

i ve just fitted the apexi power intake and just like what happened to you maltezza my car has lost power, its really slow going up through the revs , i disconnected the battery for 10 mins and and the connected it then started it up for 5 mins without touching the throttle then turned it off and fired her up again and took it for a test drive and its still the same , have u got yours sorted yet, i see from your thread about your car that they said it might be your carbon pipe but i have got the correct pipe and it still does it . dont know what to do now, let me know what you have done :) just been back out to the car and disconnected the battery for an hour, connected it back up and took it out for a drive, at first it was pretty sluggish , but the more i drove it the better it got, and after an hour of driving the ecu has learned the new filter airflow, its still not perfect but its pretty close so i came home and parked up for an hour went back out for a drive and from cold it drives perfect really responsive but as the temp went to normal it loses a tiny amount of response which im thinking is the heat in the engine bay so im gona look to get a box to fit in there, so to sum up i fitted it and it drove like a pile of ****, left the battery disconnected for an hour to reset the ecu then drove around for an hour and it fixed itself :) So what your're telling me is .. the apexi power intake really works ?? Cuz im a bit confuse now … 1st mAltezza said its crap .. but now your’re say-n it works. One other question … does it improve your torque , and by how much??

Naw... I was thinking about something along the lines of a Apexi Power Intake Air Filter System ( complete kit->> http://www.racinglab.com/appowinairfi.html). Didn't notice any difference with that fitted to my Altezza apart from a lot more noise when you put the foot down , gets a bit annoying after a few weeks. You might gain 2-3 bhp max :o damn.. I guess u saved my sum money then!!

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get info. on how to redo the air intake system of a Altezza or IS 200 (Beams engine) for increased performance??

It has the Lexus Logo in the middle... and its has the 1998 4 Cyl engineer(which comes wit the Rs200). Get rid of those lexus logo's dude!! Or something like mine? Where can I get the Rs 200 badge?

Yea... I think the bumper really brings out the Altezza. In a way .. it was the main reason I got the car.

Hey guys, For about a week now I've been trying out the M mode (Tipronic) on my RS200. At 1st I didn't like it (found it a bit confusing), but now I love it. Reason: 1. Easy to gears down when going around corners. 2. It give u a feeling of more control over your car. 3. And it just plain old fun to use :P. What are your feeling when it comes to Tipronic mode? Love it or hate it?

For my Is300 semi-auto I find it best using M mode on windy roads to preselect gears in advance of corners (with either PWR mode on or off). For straighter roads it's easier using wither M mode with PWR off or just leave it in D and press PWR if you need a bit of kick when overtaking. There's that many electronic gizmos on the Lexus that it is pretty much impossible to over-rev it or change down when your not meant to be able to. Hope that helps!! Hey guy, I was wondering if anyone can assist me with some info. Issue: I Just got a RS200 and the steering wheel is stiff. However the car does have 17 inch rims, and I know for a fact sport cars usually have stiff steering wheels because of the high power. Do you guys think there is a problem with my steering wheel or I’m just over reacting?

Any one know where I could get a Altezza Sport Gril to buy online?

Thats what im planning on doing, some people say it will add 30-40bhp, others say it will be minimal gains. Dont think anyone on here has done it to a normally aspirated Altezza yet. Im just trying to find somewhere thats reliable place to tune it in, as i will try and get mine mapped to the 104Ron biofuel that im using When u get the chip, let me know what diff. it makes .... I may wanna do that also.

Would getting an ECU chip installed make a big diff.. ?
