  1. Found this handy mobile phone tracker. Just enter the country and phone number and watch while it finds it. Handy for checking up on the missus. :winky: http://www.themobiletracker.com/english/index.html
  2. For those interested, as far as I know the change car symbol only works if you use the 3D maps rather than standard view. @ Robs lex: I just connect to tomtom home and its does the auto upgrades. However it doesnt update any maps, only certain functions. I think you have to pay for the "new" updated maps. HTH @ Stav: the x wing sounds good.
  3. Not sure about garmin to be honest. The transit would look good. The option is endless. I was thinking of having superman flying lol.
  4. I got the info from this site. http://ozpoi.com/howtocarsymbol.html
  5. I was bored in work today so i decided to change that crappy blue position arrow on my tomtom one to something different. So now i have my car on screen. I know its been done before but i think its cool. heres some pics. PS. it looks better in person than from photos
  6. Felt it was time to post some new pics of my Altezza as i hav'nt really posted any since i joined. Took advantage of the nice weather we are having and gave it a quick wash and used that new Auto Glym Aqua wax stuff. Gives good results considering the minimal effort involved. Anyways, just wanted to show it off aswell as my painted calipers. I painted them with Hammerite silver a good few months ago and they are still looking good. Oh and my little sat nav mod too. PS. Anybody any idea what exhaust it is. Was on the car when i got it. All it says on the tag is JASMA and a few numbers. Cheers, Darren
  7. Thanks for the reply lads. Guess i will just have to wait and see on the day. I Understand what you mean Tel about parking. I heard a story once about some fool who forgot to put the hand brake on and the car went all over the place, smashing of other cars like a pinball machine. @Dave1, I am boarding ferry in Dublin port and getting off at holyhead and then back again.
  8. I am planning a trip for next month and will be taking my car by ferry. My car is lowered, on springs not coilovers and I just want to know how handy it is getting on and off the boat. As it is the front bumper rubs the odd speed ramp so just like to know if anybody had any problems while driving on or off. Thanks Darren.
  9. I will have a look there so. Cheers Einstein.
  10. No I tried. The inner wire that is or should I say that should be soldered inside the pin is completely pulled out. And its not possible to solder that wire as it goes right to the end of the inside of the pin. If you understand what i mean.
  11. Today I was trying to remove the aerial from the back of the headunit and I ended up pulling the wire completely off the plug. I tried to fix it but ended up messing up the plug. Can i buy a universal plug and put it on. Or will i need a whole new cable. I dont fancy having to run a new cable from the antenna to the radio. Cheers.
  12. I have the full set. They were on my altezza when i got it :o and they were taken off straight away (no offence). Im not quite sure how you will stick them on your car as the sticky bit is obviously gone off them but they are yours if you want them. Dont want anything for them, they are just gathering dust anyway. Darren
  13. Got it back today, finally. Had it diagnosed on Friday from a local place and code P1354 (Variable Valve Timing System) came up. I told him i recently got the timing belt changed and he said it might have slipped a tooth. So my bro stripped it down and it had in fact slipped a tooth. Job done it goes like a dream now.
  14. Well it happens on mine at 120kph which is about 75mph and it keeps doing it, not just once or twice. Any way its going in tomorrow for a full check. Thanks for your reply mate.
  15. Anyone ever suffer with this problem? Basically when i hit the 120kph+ mark my engine light flickers and ive no accelerating power. If i drive at anything less than this speed it is perfect. From take off its normal, there is no power loss and it flies up through the revs without missing a beat. Its just when i hit 120+ it goes bad. Its only started doing this since having some work done(had timing belt done and the throttle body was cleaned). I dont think its the maf sensor as it is only a few months old and doesnt look damaged. I am thinking it might be O2 sensor. Would this cause this? I have checked all connections and hoses but cant see anything out of place. I have reset the ecu and no joy, I have searched the net and didnt come up with much. I planned to try the trick with the paper clip to check for a fault code but there is no et1 slot in the diagnosis box. Any help would be great. Thanks
  16. Finally got my car back today after getting it repaired. The suspension work was finished a few days ago and its just back from getting the wing repaired. Only got to see it in low light as it was about 7pm but looks spot on. I will have a good look tomorrow when its bright. Also got a service and cleaned the throttle body and got the timing belt done. Now my engine warning light flashes on sometimes. I am going to get the code checked and i will reset the ecu to see if it does anything. Anyone any ideas. I realise i could be many things until i get the code.
  17. Yeah i know its the back. Its the same one as I hit. Your wheel is pushed in at the top under the arch, well mine was pushed in at the bottom at the back of the wheel nearest the bumper. In regards to it being still the same, i first had the wishbone, control arm and track rod replaced. When these parts were replaced the wheel was still pushed in so i replaced the hub and it was perfect after that. I got the hub second hand for 100 Euro and toyota charged 350 Euro for the other 3 parts and for an indicator lense for my wing. My bro did the work so luckily no labour cost. I heard somewhere that these parts are designed to take the force from a crash so as not to damage the chassis. It might not be as bad as you think. Try get the parts second hand. Hope you get it sorted. Darren
  18. This happened to me last week. Except wheel was bent in at the back instead of the front like yours. Finally got it sorted today. needed a new lower control arm, wishbone, trackrod and it was still the same. I taught it might need a new subframe also but i just got a second hand hub and now its fine. Just need an alingment now.
  19. Thanks for the advice guys. Parts have been ordered today from Toyota and told they be here tomorrow. Thankfully the wing can be repaired so all going well should be good as new by Monday.
  20. Yeah Im gonna ring him. just wanna get a rough price for the wing ye know.
  21. Hopefully the wing can be repaired but theres slight damage on the smooth flat edge of the arch. This may mean a new wing also. Just afraid I am gonna need the whole side painted. Thanks for your help. Anyone know the price for a second hand wing.
  22. Cheers. ill try that one in the buy and sell and if no joy check the auto trader. Someone told me to try traynors in the north but its a bit far. Also I dented and scratched my front driverside wing in same accident. Can this be resprayed alone or will i have to get the whole side of the car sprayed. Mica blue i think the colour is called.
  23. Thanks for the reply guys. @ IRLRs200- I will have a look around. Do you Know of any places in Dublin or near enough. Cheers @MonsterMat- I am in Ireland so its probably easiest getting them here. If all else fails I will confirm parts needed and see what you can do. Much appreciated.
  24. Today I completely lost the back end. It came out of nowhere as i exited a round about into a bend resulting in me :tsktsk: smashing into a kerb almost sideways then bouncing the front of a guard rail. The rear wheel took the most damage as it hit a milisecond before the front. It wasnt even drivable. Basically the rear wheel was after twisting in at the back and sticking way out at the font. I nearly cried when i got out to look. Anyway turns out to be the lower wishbone ( think thats what its called) and some other link busted. I also need a new back wheel as its badly marked but suprisingly not buckeled. Are the suspension parts the same as the IS200 and are they only available from Toyota or can i get spurious parts from a motor factor. Any help would be great. Thanks, Darren.
  25. The badge on the grill was looking shabby and bits of the red lettering were missing. i found an genuine one for 1.99 pounds and 6 pound for shipping to ireland. Ive just ordered so ill post the results when it arrives. Racerbits.com is the place if anyone is interested.
