The battery is a 3v CR1632. Best get them off the internet - you'll get a pack of five cheaper than one from Lexus. Armed with the battery, remove the key from the remote and then prise the remote apart (once the key is removed, there's an indentation that you can twist a small screwdiver in to separate the two halves) Raise the printed circuit and the battery is underneath. Replace with a new one and clip it all back together again. Changed mine this morning - took less than two minutes. No need to re-programme afterwards. Good luck with the new car. Cheers -

ye i know this is my third uk car. i have the log book for the car so when ever i go in to pay it they will not be able to tell when it was bought they will just be happy to be getting the money, robbers. if your caught with uk car and you have an irish address, by customs, your car will be taken and you will be fined 10% of the omsp of the car and the impound fine on top of the vrt. -

Thanks for replys. Some of you have had bad experience with the diesel, hopefully this will not happen to me , car has 90000miles on it and full service history, so hopefully if anything went worng its already been fixed. The way it drives is perfect smooth and solid, the gearbox is different so i'l just have to adjust, other than that i'm happy. The is 250 is petrol and its a completely different engine and setup so i dont think the 220 should be comapired to it. -

you guys have it easy, in the 90's the PM inveted this tax called VRT for cars so, when you register a new car or an imported car you have to pay tax on it. This tax is a percentage of the OMSP and % of the tax is determined by the co2 emissions my is 168 so have to pay 23% tax of the omsp which thay have the car valued at €2300. so about €5k tax for vrt. then about €700 annual tax. bit of a joke. I'm going to hold off until Jan to register my car because OMSP will drop because its a new year so hopefully i'll only have to pay €4000 vrt -

well, i took it for a test drive, everything was very solid, felt like the car stuck to the road, it handled a lot better than i is 200, smoother and felt more secure, there is a nice bit of power behind them too, i see what you mean about the gearbox, but will just take a bit of getting used to. Anyway i was fearly happy with the car, looks and performance, especially on the motorway, doin 110 was like doing 60. I bought the car for €9500 aobut £8300, high milage but drove like a 10k car full service history, everything works inside and out, so i'm happy with it. One question, battery is gone on one of the key remote, can i just replace the battery or does the key have to be reprogrammed again. -

do you think a lot of the regrets were from people who bought the is 220 and had so many problems with it? up to the first 30k, and had a bad experience trying to get them sorted with the dealer. Buy buying second hand with a full service history hopefully all these problem (if any) have been sorted. -

is it really that bad? i'm not too concerend about mpg because i only need it for a short run to work and the gym and small bit of driving at the weekend. i was talking to a friend yesterday and he said it was a smooth drive. no compaints. i'm going to have a look at it this evening and have a test drive and see wot that story is. -
Hello, i have not been on this site for a while, i sold my is200 and have had no car for the past 4 months,I've decided i want a is220D, i've found a 2006 se model with 90,000 miles and around £9,000 which i will try and reduce. The price is higher than you would expect because i am in Ireland and buying the car up north. Just wondering what are your thoughts on the 220 What should i look out for when having a look at the car. (any know problems) Thanks Cathal

I lost my is aswell but i had no one to claim off was my fault (country road). There was other people in the car aswell, but just as long as everyone is ok the car does'nt matter, it can be replaced. Here's a pic of her,

ok, sorted out the prob with your one so thats all sorted, spent about 10 hours at the weekend sanding the bumper, i got it nice and smooth and used isopon to fix the cracks, primed them bumper sprayed it, turned out good, but got some orange peel due to condition. Sanded it with 1500 and used rubbing compound and T-cut to bring back the shine, looks pretty got hard to tell difference between wings and bumper, might be a buffer and porper polish and do the whole car make it look like new :D . I have a few pics so i'll try upload them

was bumper to bumper and then start moving abit, the rest writes itself. Yea the spray gun, starting to sand it down now, get it ready for saturday. Should turn out fine, yea one of the headlight mounts has spapped off but i'll glue it back on.
-
Na just the bumper, and bonnet has a small dent whichi i will pop out, Yea its just the bumper mainly. There is a big steel bar behind the bumper which i suspect did most of the damage to the corolla. I'll use isopon to repair my bumper only need a small bit. Not too worried about my car i'll have it sorted by sun (hopefully), actually looking foward to doing it, will give me a chance to use my gun again. So you reakon if she claims it will only go up around €200?? Dont think my insurance is protected but i'll check. Thanks

Crashed again!!!, was on the motorway in the fast lane but there was so much traffic it was'nt moving fast. I went to move out to the outer lane and was looking in the passenger mirror to see if it was clear and the car infront had stoped, luckely i seen the car infront last min and jammed on but was still abit late. Hit the back of a toyota corolla 95. Put two small cracks in my bumper and paint is all chipped off and a small dent in my bonnet. The toyota looked ok, I rang her later to sort it out and went to have a look at her car, where the spare wheel goes is all pushed in and booth does'nt line up, so i reakon its a write off since its 95, Do you think i should go through insurance or just pay for another car to keep my premium low?? Im getting the paint for the bumper on friday and should have my car sorted by sunday, have a compressor and gun nd all. And try to tap out the dent.
-
that price is the same as the dealers, i bought a bearing the other day €85 so not too bad, tried to fit it but needs to be pressed off, so prob wont be able to do it unti next week, Ye its good to be back alrite, cars sweet, gona get the front windows tinted, and a sun visor tint aswell try to match the factory tint,
-
I'm not sure about after care service, because i would usually not buy from a dealer because the are robbing c***s, but you are getting serurity if your worried about any problems so thats a plus, what year is the car and is it the se or sport model?? where about are you buying it?
-
repairs are going to be expensive compaired to the uk, but not much different than any other car, how much you paying for the is200, i bought my second one there on aturday I had an almera aswell before, there is no comparison, lexus is much nicer to drive There reliable, and once the timing belt is done services wont be too expensive, so should be ok, Im 21 and insurance is €1500 fully comp full licence Tax about €600
-
after i crashed the lexus, there was no doubt in my mind i was getting another one, thats jus a picture from the ad, It the sport model, and very clean, has the trd kit aswell, very happy wit it, Only one problem which he told me, is the wheel bearing on the front right wheel is humming abit so has to be replaced, does anyone know where i can get this part over the internet and how easy are they to fit??
-
