  1. "OK - I didn't know that there was a caliper problem - that makes sense now. What did they do for the seat? " Mine was not a caliper problem. The discs were below wear limit (30000 miles!!!) and the pads needed a change. Simply, there s apparently a loophole in the warrant that - as it is a wear item they do not consider 30000 miles fair wear and tear and replace. The seat was saggy. No comparison to any Mercedes/ Audi/ BMW vehicle have had - they agreed and changed it. No argument. They are on the way to becoming my best ever dealer for service. cj
  2. Just a quick note to let you all know that I am really pleased with the service level that I have received from Lexus Oxford. They gave a fair price for a service (after haggling) and loaned a car, collecting mine from Milton Keynes They inspected (and cured) under warranty a number of things I had noted (including saggy seats and interior trims) and also things I had not ( including replacing bubbly alloys, roof bars and brake discs) In short I feel very confident with them and would have no hesitation in reccomending them. (I relise its a bit of a "good news" thread and as such there will be laods of flaming by the negatives..........!!!) cj
  3. I took the RX to the alps recently. The advice from the dealer was: 1) use our stick on beam "obliterators" 2) turn off the auto headlamp movement in the end, I actually used the round halfords light converters - they gave more light - as I was also worried about the headlamp washer dislodging the tape. It is a bit of an omission to not have a simple lever to flick though! Im sure it would be pretty straighforward with the auto levelling and adjustment that it has already. Enjoy your trip.
  4. I have a CBR900RR3 Fireblade. Got a picture somewhere. Ill see if I can find it..... Roll on the non slippery roads.!!!
  5. I brought an RX400h against many other marques - had Audi, BMW, Merc amongst others before - and was after something different. I believe that Diesel engines will soon be proven to be contributing to breathing difficulties by the micro particulates and NOX emissions. So it wil be another excuse for the Givernment to tax them more. The Hybrid gives the same economy as a diesel, same/better performance and is incredibly quiet place to be. It also allows me to raise two fingers to Kens charge. I had no wish for a hybrid till I talked through and looked at the literature. So it was quite a snap decision. Am I saving the planet? Probably not much on a Co2 footprint. Am I less polluting ? Probably yes on Nox and other nasties.
