  1. I have averaged just under 40 mpg, (& this is getting lower, from about 41.5 in August), since I bought my 06 220d about a year ago, but some of this is probably due my using Millers DPS 4 since mid-July. I had the 5th injector change & ecu remap in mid-Aug. When I had this done I queried the EGR valve & was told that it wasn't something that was normally changed. If it weren't for these factors I imagine I would probably now be somewhere around 37mpg average. I can now only achieve 40/42 on a run if I take it very steadily and keep an eye on the revs all the time. If I drove it "normally" I reckon the consumption would be below 40, again somewhere around the 37 mark, or maybe lower. Can any one tell me if the consumption I'm now getting is reasonable and if I should be able to get the injectors, EGR & bleed down valve changed, and will this improve things. Or would I be wasting my time? Many thanks Boothby Guys, Went to the dealer yesterday and they ran a diagnostic which showed nothing was wrong with the car. The lady at the service desk was a little unhelpful and stated again that all their demos only got 34 mpg and it was normal. She said the figures were based on perfect driving conditions with no environmental factors! I mention the EGR and the bleed down valve and she stated they did not need to be changed. The car came back washed but I feel I wasted a Saturday morning and am no closer to a result. I mentioned that a guy at work has the same car and he gets in the low 40's and she suggested I let him drive my car to see what he got. I think I will try the dealership in Plymouth where I am working at the moment and see what they say.
  2. After reading all the posts about the IS220d and fuel consumption I was looking forward to my 20,000 mile service. Before the service I was getting 36-38mpg. I spoke to the dealer in Hedge End (Southampton) and they told me there was a recall on the 5th injector and things should improve after the service. My friends who both own 220d's as well get 40-45mpg even after driving at 80 on the motorway. I took the car in during September and the fuel economy has gotten worse! I now get 32mpg if I am lucky. I called the dealer and am taking it in tomorrow. The lady in the dealership said that my mpg wasn't that bad and that the figures in the brochure were exaggerated and they get similar mileage in their demos. I bought my 06 Lexus 220d SEL in May last year when it was 10 months old, its still under warranty and I am annoyed that other people are getting good mileage when I am not. I will let you know how I get on but I am beginning to think it might be a serious problem with the engine. Has anyone else experienced this?
  3. That's a bummer. It would have been good. The only downside to the car is it's lack of extra little storage spaces. Thanks for the help.
  4. Hey, I was reading the manual and noticed that on the North American IS 250/350 they get a sunglasses holder on the roof panel console, just forward of the light. This would be great a great option but when I asked Lexus Hedge End (new Southampton dealership) sales guy he said it wasn't available in the UK. Anybody know where I can get one? I have tried eBay and a web search. Thanks, griffjnr
  5. Hi There, I bought mine second hand in May with just 7000 miles on the clock. I drive mainly A roads and get around 34-36mpg. I have now done 14000 miles. Hope this helps.
  6. Will do as soon as I get it Valeted.
  7. Hi All, Bought an IS220d SE-L with all the toys back in May and I love it. Had a BMW 320Ci Sport before and I must admit to preferring the Lexus.
