I definately want to put in a DVD player/Car PC, and would like to put some nice alloys. Its just a case of saving up at the moment. Does anyone know a good Alloy wheel site that has a wheel chooser thingy? (You know what I mean... Where you select your car and colour, and you cycle through the wheels to see which set looks best..)

I was just wondering if any of you have modified your LS400, what have you done, and how did it turn out?
Just a general interest topic, but I am thinking about doing a few things to my LS400. I am going to replace the viscous fan with an electric one, and I am going to put in a double din DVD head unit (or Car PC). And maybe in the future, some alloy wheels...

You can get the nylon ones, dont know where from or how much they are, but they look a lot easier on the paintwork..

I'd deffinately get your brakes checked, as thats what the handbrake light is saying. No clue about the temp sensor though.

Thats done it for me! I am a bit of a PC nerd, and I like stuff to look and work cleanly. I'll bin that Xtron unit, but keep looking for that sort of system. I am on a tight budget, any ideas?

Hi all,
Due to the backlights not working on my (lets face it, outdated cassette) stereo I am thinking of fitting a DVD head unit to my 1996 LS400. I know that I'll need a facia plate, but what cables will I need and where do I get them? I heard someone going on about weather you need an amplified cable or not, and I just dont know.
Has anyone here been through this process before, or am I comitting sacrilege by removing the Premium sound system from my LS400?
Here's the head unit I'm thinking of buying...

I know its not a brand name anyone would have heard of before, but it looks ok and these things tend to work well.
And here's the facia plate...

eBay will ruin me one day!!
Thanks all,
Brian :)
P.S. I have found a solution to my "lead foot" problem!! The current weather conditions are providing me with a healthy fear of hurting my beautiful LS400 on the icy roads!

I think I'll look into the LPG thing. I did see a few LS400's on sale in eBay with LPG conversions, one of them had a really nasty ring of rust around the LPG filler cap thingy though.

I have a slight problem. I cant seem to stop stamping on the gas! My LS 400 is faultless, but my right foot seems to be magnetically attracted to the floor. That awesome surge of acceleration is so adictive I just cant seem to stop flooring my LS400.
Does anyone know of a fix for this please? (Apart from asking the nice government to keep raising the price of fuel!)

You could try a set of inflatable roof bars, they sell on eBay for about £40 a set.

Yay!! I'm back! I am on my way to collect my second ever Lexus LS400. After my baby was smashed up by a truck a few years ago, and 9 months of redundancy last year, I'm now fully employed again, and picking up another LS400...
Cant describe how happy I'm feeling now! :D (BIGFATSMILEYFACE)
Have fun all,
Brian (very happy) :)

After 4 months fighting and moaning Norwich Union have finally agreed to pay out the full amount for my poor wrecked LS400. I can now get rid of the big rusty Jewish racing gold lawn ornament outside my house. See you all guys, it was great while it lasted, and thanks for all the help.
I'm off to Audi now. A8 4.2 V8 Quattro.
Have fun all,
Brian :)
P.S. If you can, avoid Norwich Union.

Aparently, according to Jeremy Clarkson, you have to be Hitler to have a 4 door cabriolet!!

Have you tried all the boy racer type places like Deamon Tweaks etc. Might not be your kind of thing, but they still do quality parts and you dont have to have a 15 foot spoiler either!! ;)

Anything like WD40 or 3in1 mate. :)
