  1. Depending on how many miles your car (condition of stock shocks) has done I'd save the money and just go for Tein springs. They say that they only lower like 30/20mm but in reality its a lot lot more. Have a search on here for lowering, I think it gives the car a good stance, and considering their a fifth of the price of coils, cant argue.

However its your money, depends how long you intend on keeping the car.

    As for the other questions

    1. See above (not really in my opinion)

    2. Yes but you'll probably need somewhere to redo the suspension geometry

    3. Trial and error

    4. Pay the extr for HSD's in my opinion, meant to be the best money can buy.

  2. I really want to lower mine, but at 130k I'm assuming its unwise to put lowering springs on? As far as I can tell they are still the original shocks, although they do appear to be in good condition as most of the 130k are motorway miles done early in the cars life. Dont want to fork out for lowering springs then realise 6 months later I need new shocks aswell.

How do the Tein springs affect the ride comfort?

  3. I have both, I will compare the depths tonight. I hope the round caps fit as they'd look so much better.

Did you come up with anything on this ?

Well I finally had a chance to look at this (putting the 17's with winter tyres back on while its snowy) and the mounting depth for the 18's is definately more than 17's.

It therefore are a fact that 11 spoke caps would fit the 18" sport pack wheels.

It would be helpful is someone could post a dimension of the depth of 11 spoke centre caps so I could confrim before I splash £70 on them?

  4. It's about £120 unpainted but with fitting kit from TG Holdcroft. Do a google search.

Good site that mate for genuine parts, sure those prices are slightly less than the main dealer. When I called Lexus Newcastle about the front lip sure they said more like £140.

  5. 1. The enermous numberplate reccess on the boot, looks really really silly.

    2. The way the wheel offset/stud pattern combo is pretty unique to the IS making buying aftermarket wheels a nightmare.

    3. The way that a constant line is followed by the reccess in the bottom of the rear bumper and then along the bottom of the door but the front bumper is smooth.

    4. Rear way too high on non-sport models.

    5. The rear lights. I wish they were just red like on most cars. They were novel 10 years ago but have been ruined by the boy racer scene.

All of the above I tend to fix on my car!

And finally 6. The way you cant see the back of the boot when reversing (not that you can on most saloon cars so guess that a bit weak!)

Although the good points far outweigh any of the niggly bits!

  6. Have a look at my install for the RF 360 Box (the one controlled by Bluetooth) its a great piece of kit, main reason I went for mine was so i could keep the stock headunit and not mess with the factory Sat Nav.

Install wise have a look a JL stuff, real good for the money. Have a look at Wozza's boot built in the ICE section, that sounds sort of similar to what your going for. I just kept my install real simple so I can remove the box when I need to get work stuff in the boot.
