  1. Ironically enough it is a DVC (dual 4 ohm voice coils) wired to 2ohms. I am running the stock head unit with a monster cable line leveler from the sub out to bridged amp @ 2 ohms. I've just added the bass so far. A couple weekends from now I'll start swappin out the doors and what not.
  2. Put in a lightning audio dual voice coil 10". Got it from a guy who works at rockford for free. I had seen the cheap lightnings around but this is different. It weighs about 25 pounds and has a 400 watt rms. It's running free air for now on the rear deck. My amp (orion) is dimming the headlights as the bass hits so im putting in a cap this weekend. Not bad for free air, i would have never gone this route if I didn't need the trunk space.
  3. It is amazing you were able to turn that into a positive so fast. Good luck on your kit man, check out http://www.i-m-racing.com/lexgs.html for some ideas. My office is like 2 miles away from their shop. Good people, ok pricing.
  4. Finally man, I had been following the threads for a while wondering, is jac ever gonna get that wrx fit?! Congratulations. It looks goooood.
  5. How do you get the rear deck grill off the stock subwoofer? I managed to pop the front two clips but the rear of the grill is locked down from somewhere and I cant get a vantage point on it. Anyone swapped this out before?
  6. Exactly, the bigger the tire, not the size of the wheel. You have to run a smaller profile tire if you are going with a big wheel and consequently you get a rougher ride. Personally I think 18" looks sweet and as long as you don't skimp on tire quality you should be satisfied.
  7. Thanks MAC_600, I live in the states and until veiwing this forum didn't even know they existed. (MK1and MK2) Sourcing foreign parts for this car are a mission. I'm sure its the same way in the uk if you are trying to get JDM stuff. I just want to avoid buying rim after rim. And with the stock rims you cant even see them from the rear angle.
  8. 35r and 40r tires are different. 35 is shorter from rim to the edge of tire than 40. Remeber that your suspension starts with your tires. The bigger you go the smoother the ride quality. If you are looking for a smooth ride a bigger tire is in order. However, if you are going for a look and a sporty stance 35 or 40 is perfect. Mixing the two means you will have either a smaller tire on front than in back or vice versa. If you arent picky roll them for now and when they wear buy all 4 the same.
  9. Mudzs ~ Are you bangin a burned cd? Maybe its the quality of your disc recording. Some songs just have no bottom end. The eq is the adjustment for bass trebile and midrange. Most car audio stores will try to sell you some gear before they will fix your stock system. Then again if you truly are not satisfied with the sound an upgrade may be in order.
  10. Try adjusting your eq, cd should sound way better than radio. I don't care what you drive cd always sounds better. Apart from a speaker being blown the stock system is great for in car fill. Rodders_UK what kind of amp did you wire in to push those kickers. Was it much of an improvement with the stock deck?
  11. Don't know if you've been here but check out the goodies on this page, best selection of mods in one place I have come across yet for our cars. You will be ballin out of control in no time. http://www.i-m-racing.com/lexgs.html
  12. Just bought a 1996 gs300 2 weeks ago and am in lust with the car. After veiwing this forum for a few weeks I thought I'd introduce myself. I am currently looking for a killer rim and tire package and have yet to determine what the best offset for the 93-97 gs300 is. I am looking to swap the stock shoes with some 18's and would like them to sit flush with the body, not tucked in. Then again I dont want them to stick out like a turtle either. I would prefer to buy once and buy right if you know what I mean. I guess I am curious as to what some of you have put your rides or any suggestions you may have.
