  1. Anyone know where I can buy a tow bar for my GS430? Most suppliers seems to suggest main agent fitment only = VERY EXPENSIVE..!!
  2. Hi folks - I live in Poole and would be very interested in meeting up. I've got a 2000/X GS430 SE running on LPG. Would be great to meet other enthusiasts - glad to know I'm not the only Lexus saddo down here!
  3. Well ... just got to join in the GS430 debate! I've got a 2000 / X GS430SE - bought it about 7 months ago and paid £3950 for it from a dealer. It's by far and above the best car I've ever owned and that's quite a few including some exotica. They are rare (which is good) but 'seek and ye shall find'. I've had it converted to run on LPG so I'm getting the equivalent of 40mpg for a car that goes like stink and makes me smile every time I get in it. Have fun as and when you get one - you won't regret waiting for the 430! I'm in the trade so will keep an eye for one - my trade suppliers site have two listed but they are 03/53 and 04, so a bit over your price.
  4. Had exactly the same problem on my 2000/X GS430 SE which runs on LPG. Wasn't getting warm inside the car / gurgling sounds and the LPG converter was playing up as it wasn't getting hot enough! Quick trip to my friendly garage, a top up of water later (checked when hot) and it's all back to normal. The problem with Lexus is that I don't ever expect it to go wrong, so don't check it very often. I love my Lexus - it's a fab car.
  5. Hi there, I've got a 2000/X GS430SE which I've just had converted to run on LPG - it's fantastic really and on a run I'm getting the equivalent of 40-50mpg, which is amazing for a car that goes like stink when you want it too! There are many places where you can have LPG fitted, but I used Profess Autogas near Cardiff. They really know their stuff, use the very latest multipoint system and even provide a fully fueled LPG courtesy car for your use whilst the car is being done. When I picked mine up, they also included a software pack with lead so I can check and adjust the settings via my laptop when required. You can find Profess advertising via eBay where they have 100% feedback. Should cost less than £1200 inc VAT to convert a 6 cylinder GS. Some people mention concerns with valve wear, but this only occurs when the system is set too rich or lean, a common problem with older single-point systems. The software electronically matches the mapping of your car's ECU so reducing this risk.
