  1. i would certainly be interested in the electric dia can i just check...... are you saying the key lock locks both the boot opener AND the fuel cap opener? my fuel flap opens just fine.... the boot doesnt..... i had assumed the key lock (which i dont have a key for) only locked the boot opener. i have a '91 ls400 btw
  2. Hi thanks for this great information. The key fob indeed works if held for 3 seconds, so great tip thanks. The pull button inside the car doesn't appear to work still whatever position I put the ignition key in/out and engine on/off, door open/closed! Hope to find out answer without having to go to Lexus! Kindest regards David same here.... the button inside the car does nothing unfortunatly i only got one key with my car.... and its only got one button on it (i assume its not the master key).... for the central locking. unfortunatly the key only fits the drivers door the ignition and the boot.... not the passanger door, the glove box or the key hole near the boot release button (which i assume enables/ disables the release button) my long term plan is to get all the locks changed..... but im guessing thats going to be expensive (if possible lol) As a tempory solution (assuming my assumption about the key hole near the boot release is correct0.... is it possible to remove the lock and bypass it.... or force the lock to the other position???
  3. thanks..... thats exactly the info i needed. I will have a play on saturday
  4. hi guys when i recently went over a bump in my '91 ls400 recently the cd player gave an 'error' message.... it now doesnt play any cds at all. Im guessing its a loose connector (hopefully). I checked the radio end and everything looks good (and the cd player still errors). So im hoping its the autochanger end.... so my question how do i remove it.... im probably being a bit dumb.... do i just pull the boot trim off to get to the screws to remove the autochanger?
  5. HEY GREAT PRICE... i bought a private plate from the DVLA.... cost me £275 i think i got A18 OUK (big AIBO FAN ;) the fact DVLA still have ownership is a pain.... i did think of tweaking the plate abit to A18O UK ...... but ive been warned that if you get caught with a modified plate, you not only get a fine, but DVLA can take the plate back
  6. yeah i was thinking an original was the better option.... and i think i found one (yay) oh cool, as i say, i think i found a subwoofer, but will certainly be looking for other parts in a few months..
  7. thanks for the welcome i have already contacted a few of the ebay dudes who are breaking cars. Out of interest does anybody know if they used the same sub woofer in the mk2/mk3/mk4?
  8. hi guys, i have had my 1991 LS400 for a few months, and finally got round to finding out why the subwoofer wasnt working very well.... i very quickly diagnosed the problem.... for some reason the last owner has totally removed the speaker.... thankfully he left the hole ;) i did read an excerlant guide that explains how to fit an aftermarket subwoofer, however you need to use the metal mounting ring, and the connector from the original speaker.... which of course i dont have :( any suggestions?? and as im in the UK can somebody recomend a reasonably priced subwoofer speaker i can buy here cheers
  9. hi.... i did a similar fix a few weeks ago, following a post i found here i did it slightly different the splines actually go all the way through the inside of the aluminium tube, only the ends wear..... so, i cut the aluminium rod in half (with a hacksaw) cut the worn ends off, re-yatched the 2 bits of aluminium rod and joined them with a section of 15mm copper pipe.... which i drilled and bolted through both sections of aluminium rod. works great.... and you dont need to remove the seat from the car
