  1. Don't quote me on this but i have heard from a few people that morrisons petrol is c**p, I tried 20 quids(Unleaded) worth in the company car and found the car to be quite sluggish. Tend not to use supermarket fuel in the Lexus!. Any input on this???

  7. Hi folks, Seen as we had a nice day today, and I had a day off I thought I would get out all my gear and make a start on the car! As you are aware I am quite new to this, After listening to everybodys advice on the forum r.e Clay bars various waxes and different shampoos to different types of clothes to be used... I decided to go with the following: (1) Washed the car with Meguires car shampoo (2) Dried the car (3) Used Meguires Detailing spray and clay bar, Panel by panel (4) Cleaned of excess with a Terry towel provided in kit by Meguires I have to say this is the first time using this type of product. So was a bit skeptical? The Clay-bar is absolutely Marvelous. I felt the paint on the car before using it, It was quite rough felt a lot like sandpaper and now OMG it feels like a new pane of glass all the way round! (5) I then applied some Auto Glymn Super resin polish buffed that off (6) Then the last step was to apply some AG Deep Gloss Shine polish... Got to say dead chuffed with the results, I couldnt do the inside of the car as it was getting dark by this time, anways I had to take some pics for you folks.... After all it was with all your advice that I managed to get it looking like that plus all the various websites you directed me to for info, Your help was invaluable.
  8. The best way I find to spot Babylon is by looking at their rear view mirrors, Do they have something hanging there like a magic tree or ornament (fluffy dice). Chances are if it is Po Po ,They won't have anything hanging there. Also the Ariels tend to make them stick out like a sore thumb. Seen a Grey Volvo 57 plater on the M62 between jcn 26 and jcn 30.
  9. I think the guy who's car it is, is to soft hearted, this is what he writes before he begins: NOTICE TO ALL OTHER FORUM VIEWERS Refrain from using violence and making threats toward Mike. It's true, he did screw up the Z, but no one deserves to have death threats made toward their lives or bottles thrown at them. Stop lashing out on someone that has done absolutely no harm to you. If you're not involved with Mike in any way, shape, or form, then you shouldn't even be contacting him. IT'S THAT SIMPLE. If that was my car, I would expect people to hurt him!!! Well at least give him some grief anyways....
  10. have you try'd halfords??they sell them the worst you might have to do is change the wiring plugs. just a thought. Cheers for that fella, never thought of that...
  11. Hiya mate, I'm new to the club, But having just recently invested in a is200 sport,I did my maths before i bought mine as i knew that models after 2000 were going to be affected by the new tax band. I was offered a is200 on a 2002 plate for an extra 500 pounds(mine's on a v reg) but i thought i should give it a miss. Wise choice??? me thinks.... :shutit:
  12. Many many thanks folks.... Your help on the subject has been extremely helpful. here's hoping for some sunshine this weekend!!!!!!!!!
  13. Hi to all the lex heads! I would like to ask if anybody in the forums can advise of the best polishes you can use on your Lexus. I don't mind the cost :shutit: as long as my car comes out shining, I have used a variety of different chemicals but nothing gives me a shine that I long for! A really deep shine, that lasts for absolutely ages I have come to the conclusion that the best product is auto glyms super resin polish,Please quote me if you think i am incorrect.... My car is a IS200 sport v reg the dark Grey type... With all the Lexus know how in hear, I'm sure we shall get the required info Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  16. Hello Peeps.. Just a quick Question  Would any one happen to have a cigarette Lighter and holder for the Is200 sport, Mine's shot to bits, Needed urgently as I cannot charge my phone!!!! :tsktsk: Any help greatly received! Am willing to pay of course...
  17. Hi there to all! I have just recently bought a Lexus IS200 Sport (Gorgeous Machine) 2000, It has a rear spoiler with a brake light LED which at the moment are inoperative... I have tried opening the two screws underneath which releases the LED's (one whole strip) but to no avail. I have only just registered with the Lexus owners club and am contemplating upgrading to the gold membership, It clearly has it's benefits! This is the first time I have bought a Lexus and must say it is an extraordinary machine, I have done one simple modification which was adding HID's. A local chap who fits them for a living charged me 140 pounds including the sidelights at 8000k, The difference was amazing! I know you can pick them up cheaper from fleabay and the likes,But this fella offered me 2 years guarantee on the Ballasts and 1 year guarantee for the bulbs plus I can call him any time I have any problems. Any help with regards to the above topic would be greatly appreciated.I have tried looking through members Q&A's but cannot quite find the answer that I am looking for.... (perhaps I'm not looking hard enough) Much Obliged Kind regards...
