  1. I think JC failed to put into context that the IS-F is Lexus's first attempt at a sports saloon - compared to BMWs 20 years or more experience with making M3s. Hopefully the F range will only get better.
  2. Valid point, a friend had a slightly mis-shaped alloy; perchance he bought a new set and problem cured (then again, he did have new tyres on the new alloys too!!)
  3. Looks a nice mean machine...does it eat BMWs and Mercs for dinner?
  4. I'm glad other people noticed the same....i thought one of my eyes was deceiving me
  5. Car was with Lexus yesterday and they provided a new GS as courtesy car :D . Found the steering to be very precise and responsive. In contrast, the steering on my GS is neither as precise nor responsive. Granted there's obviously age and technology difference, but wondered whether Tony and the boys at WIM could rectify the situation and whether anybody can speak from experience, especially GS owners? Thanks
  6. Had a close call with an unmarked police car the other day...wondered whether there are any features that can give away these cheeky ones. In retrospect, the one I came across had a long black aerial (similar to those on mini-cabs, but sleeker), and generally I've seen that BMW 5/3 series, Vauxhall Vectra/Astra tend to be the main ones used. Anybody else noticed any tell-tale features?
  7. They're definitely pricey, here's where I got them: http://www.motaman.co.uk/productDetails.aspx?nPId=889 Good service, and IMO the result is well worth the expense :D
  8. Agree, they are whiter and they would match with 6000k....but, as suggested earlier, the factory-fit HIDs are probably 4500k or lower in rating scale and that's probably why they're not matching. I might keep testing n trying Finally, joy upon joy...came across some PIAA Tera LED sidelight bulbs (4500k), tried them and they're perfect :D. They're a little costly, but come highly recommended if you wish to match your sidelights to factory-fit HIDs. Case closed :winky:
  9. Agree she sounds more genuine after your latest phone call. Earlier on, it was sounding like this might end up on channle five's FBI files!!
  10. Congrats, does sound like you've done well, especially on the PX value for your 306. Should serve him well with diesel engine, and keep him happy with mod cons.

  12. Finally received them today...but still find that the bulbs are a little too blue compared to the factory-fit HIDs. I've also tried PIAA and Prism "white" sidelight bulbs, but they too are also too blue. Has anybody come across true white LED bulbs, or do they not yet exist? I'm probably going to give up the hunt
  13. Exchanged my GS alloys for a refrubished set about 5 weeks ago. Very efficient service, with the price inclusive of courier costs of new set and your old set to go back to them. New alloys were in mint condition, arrived the next day...all very easy and stress-free. I would recommend based on the service provided...hoping the alloys last long too.
  14. My other car's an S40 2.0D (I'm ready for the cheeky replies ). It's a very good car, well-built, comfortable, quick and bound to be cheaper than the equivalent Honda, Passat or BMW. As the others have said, get him to test drive all the contenders.
