  1. An autoexpress product test link Trolley jacks Dunno if it'll be useful to you..
  2. Several things: Use moneysupermarket.com, confused.com, and tescos. Cross check them with the sites. Some places like DirectLine etc don't put themselves on the comparison websites. Also; often the 10-month 'accelerated' plans give you a year's no-claims at the end of it which can only be used with that insurer - like Admiral's one year ncb can't be transferred if it was after the 10 month plan. Try to stick older, more experienced drivers in as additional drivers as they lower the premiums. And finally, don't call up the 0870 numbers from your mobile! Use saynoto0870.com to find an alternative, or as soon as you call them up, ask for them to call you back as you're calling from a mobile. They're usually happy to oblige.
  3. Do you mean the desk dock? I wonder if you could wire that to power the satnav. I think it comes with a USB connection so I'm not sure how that would work. Plus how secure would it be? Do you know if the satnav might navigate itself across the dashboard when you take a sharp turn?
  4. Howdy people, Thinking about sticking in a decent satnav into my IS200. I've got the plain centre console top with a bit of felt on it. As I wanted to tuck it away neatly, I was considering getting myself one of the dash trays so that I can fit it into their with a bit of handywork. I was eyeing one on ebay which went for £55 - the one I've linked is in the States. Does anyone know where I can get one for cheaper, or just where I might be able to find one? Better still, I'd love the original housing for the IS200 satnavs - would I be right in assuming they would be golddust/extortionate? Chee-ars for the help.
  5. Hmm I was thinking something pretty similar for myself. What kind of satnav are you getting? Does the dock come with it or is it something you'd get seperately?
  6. After I bought mine, I went to town on the leather because it appeared reasonably darker and dirtier than it should have. I simply took a light scourer (one on the back side of a sponge) and water with a little bit of detergent and tested it on a small bit. Then went and did the whole lot and I was simply amazed at what came out. The leather ended up looking like new, truly showroom stuff.
  7. ^THE best colour I'm sure you'll agree - its a stunner. I'm sure I'm going to find it hard to resist not sticking lots into it. Considering putting the flat dash surface on a hinge and tucking in a nice, concealed satnav. I do love a project..
  8. Cheers for the tips. I'm in NE London, so Beckenham's a little far out unless they're a very good price. Any ideas how much it might be?
  9. lol, I love this idea. Might just try it. By the looks of it, scratches won't polish out - but they might just improve, so I'll give it a go. Anyone else have any nuggets of wisdom regarding these bits? Cheers!
  10. Aw cheers guys, I feel the love! Wozza, I'm in NE London, and I'm sure I'll come down to some meets some time. Currently just really enjoying my new ride. And thinking up things I can do with it - never been a fan of mods before, but I'm considering spec-ing it up a little inside.
  11. Hi there, hoping someone will be able to help me out. Wanted to stick parking sensors in to my IS200 - only the rear probably. I was browsing through other posts regarding parking sensors and theres a lot of useful stuff out there. I think I'm going to get myself one of the Dolphin ones - or since they seem to be the same, perhaps the speedsafe/cisbo/etc ones. I'd love to stick them in myself, but since my fiancee paid for half the car, she'd like them done professionally. Does anyone have any recommendations regarding the sensors, and also does anyone know of any fitters who would be a good bet? I'm in London. How much might they charge? Secondly, I have a couple of scratches near the back. Looks like someone may have keyed it gently. I knew about them when I bought the car, but I was happy with them as I got a very good deal on it. They're about a foot in length each, but they haven't affected the metalwork. The scratch is showing white, and is deep enough to feel with your fingernail - but they're not obvious looking at them. I'd like them taken out. I know that can be done with the minimal of fuss, but I need to know where and again, how much it might be. Does anyone know the best way of going about it? Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers!
  12. Hello everyone! I've just bought myself an IS200 in metallic blue and I've fallen in love with it. Thought I'd join the forum and get involved, as I'd been browsing before I bought - this was such a useful resource. So hello, its a pleasure to meet you :)
