  1. Back up for this topic..................... I have not looked too hard for wipers till this week. I have now discovered that Bosch and PIAA, according to their application lists, do not make them either. I did find that Halfrauds do them but I bought these as a replacement on another car and they were awful. Any ideas, suggestions? :D I can go to Lexus which is a bit of a drive, but an easier option for the future would be handy. Thanks Greig
  2. Morning :D Really annoying! I will edit my first post as well as i think the 2009 models still do not have them either ( misread the literature ), for the reasons you state probably! Greig
  3. Hello I have just discovered that the car, an IS-250, does not have foldings seats in the rear. :tsktsk: I didn't notice..........well missed this wonderful "feature" when i purchased the car. I figured the boot wans not as big as i'd probably like on some occassions, but with the seats down it will be passable. Fat chance!! :duh: Toyota probably fit this to most of their cars but not this. Crazy! Rant over! :D Greig
  4. Hello Interesting read people! :D Just to add, Top Gear Magazine ( Jan 2009) has had a bad experience with dealers with their long term IS-F and the Mag is looking for feedback from owners lexus .isf@bbc.co.uk Edit: I think it is looking for feedback about Lexus dealers in general, not just IS-F specific. Cheers Greig
  5. hector-uk Sorry to hear that this is turning into a nightmare. As per kenfoxy, had the services not caught this issue of cut sensors? Very strange. Your first port of call maybe your insurance company and the repair garage, but I think after this time they will deny liability. It may be worth play the game of "Lexus Glasgow and Repair Garage sort it out between you as no one else has touched it and you, the servicing garage, look like you didn't bother with much!" No an easy one, best of luck and keep us up to date. Greig
  6. Hello Thank you for the reply. I will have a look in the morning, just to see :), then ill pop out to the local factors and get some. :D Thanks Greig
  7. Hi Can you just buy any wipers for the IS250? The one I have has "heated wipers", so i was not too certain. I am fairly sure......I think...that i could probably go and buy any wipers, just not confident that it would all work properly. Does any one know? What do people use? Thanks Greig:D
  8. Hi hector-uk Sorry to her of the hassle. They had it for two days in all. They dealt with it quite well car returned working and spotless. They also collected my own car from work and gave me another, so i can't really complain. It was more inconvenient than anythiing else. Let us know how you get on. Thanks Greig
  9. Hello Well in a surprise move the car was returned to me today! They called this morning and said that after the last call they finished the "diagnostics" to tie down the fault and had a sensor sent by overnight curior. Fitted this morning. :) So all is well with the world again and Im happy. This has also saved the wear and tear on my 22mm spanner that I had prepared just in case. Went the long way home and no problem! Greig
  10. oh man what a relief! now when we share same problem it tastes different! much better... I would say wish you quick fix, cheers! Martin1978 You too mate. Get it along to them and get it sorted. Seems it's not the end of the world! :) What a useful place this is! :D Greig
  11. You may be right! Ill pack the whole toolkit in case! :D Thanks, Greig just hide the stanley blades and velcro and use the other tools to get the seat out! Ah man of experience! :D
  12. You may be right! Ill pack the whole toolkit in case! :D Thanks, Greig
  13. Hello and thanks for that. They may have to wait on the part, so not sure. Tomorrow would be a miracle. More likely next week. Never mind. Thanks, I hope they sort it soon too, as I love the car! Greig :D
  14. I know what a VSA is and you're correct it's not related. :D :D Ive edited the post as I meant VSC. I found another post with the same things related to O2 sensor. The guy at the garage seemed unconcerned, I will see if they have better atitude in the morning when I am accross the desk. :D Greig
  15. Hi Well, I collected the car last Saturday and all was fine for 3 days. Then on the fourth day the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree! The RAC was dutifully called and found a fault in one of the O2 sensors. He was unsure why this would light up the dash as it did, no surprise there then! Dealer arrived with replacement car, not the same but a Lexus, and mine goes off to Glasgow last thing Wednesday. I said I would collect Sat all being well as I have appointment in the area anyway, but they should call and let me know the score and progress. No calls so i called today at 3.30 to find that they only got to the car late on Thursday and and he would call back. Well he did and as of end of work today could only tell me what i told them ( wrote down what the rac mans comp had said ) when they collected it. Sounds like the car has not been looked at till I called! Maybe wrong but....... Would a faulty O2 sensor cause the VSC warning and some other things to light up? No angry ( YET!! ), just frustrated. Rant off :D Cheers Greig
  16. I am indeed DJ. :D Been out and about in it today and have settled down to its nuances etc. Brilliant car. The gearbox is superb and light years ahead of the clunkomatic that i had in a Jag a few years ago. The handling is taughter than i was expecting so right up my street! Greig
  17. Thanks, yes I love the colour! :D Greig
  18. Some pictures......taken in a hurry, it's bloody baltic out there!! Resizing was done in a cheap app and not photoshop , so bear with me on the quality if it turns out dodgy! Cheers Greig
  19. Hello :D Well by the time I got back, via the long way home, it was pitch black outside. With the car being dark you only need to switch the light off to imagine the how the piccie would have turned out! lol I will post some tomorrow.........dirty or not! Hi :D Yes but not by that much. All has gone well today for the most part. The car is what i wanted and more. Aint the gadgets a wheez!! Smaller than the car before, but I can adjust to that feeling of being slightly cramped, it is just a feeling. Here's to happy motoring! Lets here it for Lexus, they done good on this one. Greig :D
  20. Well said, couldn't agree more! Greig
  21. :D Morning LOC Well I'm collecting my Lexus at 11am this morning! Been a long wait since a week past on Wednesday, since i paid the deposit. I'll hopefully post up some pics when I get back with it if its not covered in salt! :o Cheers Greig :D
