I plan to apply some Collinite R222 very soon and am looking into the best sealant to apply after this.

Having trouble posting other images!! Will try again with a new post underneath!!

If you have the sport, then it will have the standard fit HID lights which would have automatic headlight leveling so you won't have the switch.
Jim.
Thanks for that Jim - Found this on the forum - Click here so will investigate today.

Hi guy's,
I need to source the cassette loader for my GS Mk2 'in glove box' CD loader. Does anyone know the part number for this? Don't know where to start on eBay?
Thanks

told yesterday my rear brake light isnt working on my 97 gs300sport...........so went to change it and its completely encased, i assume i have to take the 3 bolts out of the back and then the light unit comes out.............is this correct
if its that much trouble, are the brake light bulbs standard ones from a "euro" bulb kit or if not, what do i need to buy/get
also as i live in portugal, what "toyota" parts will fit my car
lexus have only been selling in portugal for a short time so i am assuming they will have limited stock of old parts "if any"...........i have never seen a gs300 sport (mk1) since i moved here 7 years ago
They are standard bulbs for the brake light. Just remove the light unit (via the bolts), remove the bulb holder by turning it and then take the bulb to the motor factor shop nearest you. I'd buy 2 and do both!

Guy's,
I do not have a Lexus handbook for my 2000 GS Sport and I have a switch missing and I don't know which it is???
It is located underneath the fuel gauge window on the frame, next to (to the right) of the headlight washer button. I have a sneaky feeling it should be a headlight adjuster (for height) as I don't seem to have one of these??
Any advice? Also, if anyone has a spare one I have the money waiting!!
Phil
Can someone help me on this one please? I only need a confirmation of what the switch is?
Many thanks,

My Mk1 GS 300 Sport is up for it's MOT very soon. I am in desperate need of a Front Spring (Sport) or a second hand set of Springs as one of mine has broken.
I understand that I can source a set from Lexus but they want silly money that I do not want to spend. I also know that there are sets on eBay, but these lower the car 35mm against standard, instead of the 25mm I am after (as standard with the sport).
Any leads, tips, advice, comments will be most welcomed! I can't even find any breakers with a sport model available!
Cheers

Has anyone ever put Mk1 GS300 Sport wheels onto a Mk2 GS300? If so, do you have pictures? :winky:

Bit the bullet today and bought a brand new brake master cylinder to keep my old girl on the road paid £900 but the car is worth it, I don't like to see a good Lexus scrapped for the sake of that sort of money.
These can range from £2000 but there is a place on the net that is doing them for £1449 so I think I had a real bargain.
Keeping my fingers crossed that she behaves herself now.
Norman :D
Wow that's good money, but, I would do the same... :D

Can I ask what model of headunit you fitted in? :D

Have you seen these?

Here is my GS300 Sport (P reg). !20,000 miles
Had new cambelt fitted, new B service, new plugs, new discs and pads on front, new tyres allround. Having new rear discs and pads and ball joints and wishbones fitted very soon. Have all the parts.
Just bought a 2000 gs300 sport in the same colour that I pick up on Thursday. Can't wait for that, this one has 75,000 miles and am having the cam belt done before I pick it up. Once I've spent a day cleaning and polishing the new one (i love cleaning and polishing cars - it's my way to relax!) I will post some pics of it.
Looking forward to posting picks, using the forum to fix problems when they occur. First thing for the mk2 sport will be to upgrade the rear lights.
Best regards

Does anyone have any advice (and pictures of fitted units) for the best fitting headunit to replace the standard in a mk2 gs300? I am looking to source one that is the easiest fit with the least amount of wiring - plug and play, keeping the existing amp/aerial etc.
Many thanks

Hows this, taken on the phone camera so the quality not so good I'm afraid

I have a P reg 300 sport in silver. My wheels have been laser cut on the face (stainless steel-like) and painted metallic dark grey on the inner spokes and inner rim. They look smashing! I will upload a picture tomorrow.
PS - Just bought a mk2 silver (W reg) sport, pick it up next week. Over the moon to have two sports! Dream come true for me!

That's really useful to know. Out of interest what did you pay (if you don't mind me asking) and do you have a contact number for him? :)

What year is car ?
Tis OK, I have fixed it. Read some of the previous threads, they advised to hold the open button on the fob for 30 seconds. This did not work but holding the close button for 30 secs + while sitting on the car did!
Great
Its a 1996 GS 300 Sport BTW

Guy's, Can anyone advise please?
This morning, the key fob could not be used to open the central locking. Resorted to using the key.....
Now, everytime I open the doors all indicators come on, both indicator lights on the dash come on and they flash at a high rate for a minute or so. It still continues once the car has been started? Though as I ay, does stop eventually. Nothing in the owners manual on this either?
Have changed the Battery in the fob, still no response.
Any ideas? Is there a method to stop this happening? Is there a quick fix for the fob?
Cheers, your help would be appreciated.

This is not going to be much help. But I had a 1996 toyota camry 3.0 GX Auto (well, my wife did, she drove it). She had the same problem when coming to stop at lights or in traffic - it happended twice and them she told me.
I took the power switch off (it was always driven with the sport switch engaged). I also lubed (wd40) the engine compartment. It did not happen again! We have since traded in the car.
Sorry I can not be of further help. Let us know what you find out.

Guy's,
Would really vlue your advice on this one. Having looked and been directed to various topics on springs (thanks) and having inherited the broken spring problem on my GS300 Sport (1996). I am looking to find out:
(1) What are the most cost-effective springs to replace with (in your opinions)
(2) Info on changing the springs myself - Are there any 'how to' posts for the 300?
(3) Who are the best source for springs?
I have found some on fleaBay > http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=tab%3DWatching
but these are 35mm drop and I do not want to go lower than 25mm (factory standard)
Your thoughts and experiences would be appreciated! :winky:
