  1. Cheers guys. I will continue to look into this, thanks for the info, will post the results soon!! All the best Phil
  2. Guy's, Would really vlue your advice on this one. Having looked and been directed to various topics on springs (thanks) and having inherited the broken spring problem on my GS300 Sport (1996). I am looking to find out: (1) What are the most cost-effective springs to replace with (in your opinions) (2) Info on changing the springs myself - Are there any 'how to' posts for the 300? (3) Who are the best source for springs? I have found some on fleaBay > http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=tab%3DWatching but these are 35mm drop and I do not want to go lower than 25mm (factory standard) Your thoughts and experiences would be appreciated! :winky: Phil
  3. That's great news Norman - who would have thought such a little thing.......
  4. Cheers TG, I called them to ask if they had anymore ..... They said ..... no ..... They can do the re-con kits (minus pistons) for about £30.00 for the rear. Supply only. They can refurb a set of rear calipers for £119.00 - 3-4 days with them. Phil
  5. Been in touch with a local company to me (Worcester) regarding getting a repair kit for my rear calipers as I have been told they are on their way out! Bigred (http://www.biggred.co.uk/) supply re-conditioning kits and also re-condition. I will find out the exact costs tomorrow when I pop in. Hope this helps? Phil
  6. Hi Mate, Don't know if this helps or not, but I have a 1996 GS Sport (UK model) and my tyre sizes are the same 245 40 18 Y (97 load). Therefore I have the same sized wheels on both front and back! I'm not sure, but I think imports have the wider rear wheel! So, I would guess that you could get a matched set of 4 alloys and tyres (as above). Cheers, Phil
  7. Have a look at my thread, particularly from post number 17 onwards: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=34331 Thanks for that - really helpful. What happened with your in the end, did you replace the replacement Spax that were too high? Phil
  8. Mmm, I hope this is not the case. I will try to source one from somewhere. The car is low enough, I would not want to lower it anymore than it is! Cheers Chris. Got my lower suspension ball joints today, £61.00 each. Just need to look into the bush situation now! Phil
  9. Hey Chris, let me know who could, if you don't mind, I'll make contact Need the following doing: n/s upper and lower ball joints o/s lower ball joint and o/s spring replacing Lower arm bushes replacing If you could help, i'd appreciate it! Cash in hand, through the books, whatever! Phil
  10. I think Mick was on a course, (didn't know his name, but the other Lexus guy was out) Shaun did it :) I've just bought a brand new upper wishbone with ball joint (of course!!) from eBay for £89.00 (this includes the postage). Just need to get the lower now for o/s & n/s. Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the lower arm bushes or are these part of the lower ball joint?? Cheers guys - I'll post some pictures tomorrow, though it looks the same as every other silver 300 sport!
  11. Hello all, Newish to the forum, been lurking for a while. Just had my Mk1 gs300 sport serviced at Lexus Hanley. 119,000 mile 'B' service New plugs fitted - I supplied New fuel filter - I supplied New front discs and pads - I supplied Change Oil Change Oil & Air Filter Change Cambelt Plus the 'B' service Had it all done for £593.00 Couldn't be happier with both the cost and the guy's I delt with. Very professional and great value for money! Trouble is I now need to get the suspension sorted, upper lower ball joints & bushes, one new spring needed etc! They said if I supply the parts they would fit though! Really pleased, I would recommend them. The engineer who did mine was spot on. Cheers - Phil
