  2. Cheers guys for your help so far. I think i found the issue with the steering pulling! lol It would be the tyre wripped to shreds on the on both sides inside. WOOPS!! i guess thats what you get for not getting tracking done straight away, although i thought it all felt fine to begin with, its only been a few days. ah well alas i shall be a few hundred quid lighter tomorrow, new boots all round and get the allignment done. and i hopes it will be sorted. But STILL the bloody knocking! i think its something we're all guna have to get use to. Love Hate relationship!! luckily more love. Will post back after its back from the garage. matt
  3. Hello chaps. Im starting to get frustrated, i have had a knocking noise coming from the front for a few months now, after reading the forums I used my head and replaced the front shocks, no joy! next the front lower ball joints, and still no joy. Since replacing the ball joints it seems to have got worse, the knocking which im sure most of you have heard about seems to be only at lower speeds and whilst turning. Also since changing the ball joints, when ever i steer right or left, it seems to want to pull its self round a bit more and it can be pretty sudden/sharp sometimes, even wanting to do its when driving in a straight line. I defo lost confidence in driving my lexi at the moment, something doesn't feel right and i cant put my finger on it! HELP ME! Lol. Cheers guys matt

Then in two weeks time taking a trip to WIM to have the premature front tyre wear issue sorted. 10. Hi guys i just opened a new topic under engine + transmision (sub heading Engine failure), this is exactly what happened to my car when i think about it. i could hear bubbling/ air like sound from behind dash, which generally became obvious when pulling away from stand still (traffic junction etc). I had the system bleed and re filled at local garage properly and all is running fine now. :P But would get done asap as i ignored it and ended up having her over eat on me and not start. have a read of the topic. good luck matt

Hi Ive been filling up through the plastic bottle, from this im presuming that maybe i should be filling up through the rad cap.....??? i never realised that i should be filling up from there. would this make a diffference and caue water to stop circulating. I have been filling up with water/anti-freezze mix. waiting for the car to go into garage tomorrow now, just got to wait for recovery to ome pick up. 13. Thanks alot for ur suggetions Went out and tried to start it and it did, runs smooth as anything no weird noises, all dash lights are now off etc etc.......BUT lol :) It only runs ok up untill the temp get to hot then cuts out and need a good hour or so to cool down, so only reallly getting couple mins orf driving time before it dies, no good.... I gues it wont be the enginge temp sensor as the temp guage in car works fine going from cold to hot also regiresting when it over heats, so i gues thats ok? so im guna wittle it down to thermostat or water pump, which is more likey of the two? being thick how does the water pump work is it powered through the pully??
  14. Hi everyone Please can someone help me!!!!!?? Whilst driving home tonight from work my engine management light came on and my trac off light and my temperature guage stopped working, all happened in the same moment. being cold out side the heating was on but as soon as the light came on so the heat stopped and all i can now get is cold air. The car drove fine home and nothing out of the ordinary seemed to occur. BUT just as i was driving down my road i smelt what i knew was my engine over heating, as the revs dropped down to idle, the engine could not hold its self almost like it was missing a coule of cylinders and then cut out. I left it to cool down and went back out to it a while later, there was no watrer showing in the water bottle but i know this doesnt mean there isnt water in the system, (i only filled her up 3 days ago with correct anti freeze etc), theyre are no signs of leaking or cracked pipes (as it is currrently -1) from what i can see. I have now topped up water again in bottle so full, i then tried starting the engine but now it wont even start, it will turn over and fires up but instantly chokes and cuts out. The original lights i explained came on also still come up on the display but the temp guage now works......i am really stuck for ideas all i can think is possibly sticky thermostat, broken water pump or maybe i do have a leak in the rad?? I'd love to know why it wont start theough and what could have stopped hot air blowing through All ideas and suggestiuons welcome im trying to deal with myself as xmas is close and pay day aint!!! lol thankyou to all that have given time to read matt
  15. these ebay springs were actually the ones i was looking at lads! im pretty mid range on mechanical details, so for instance say i bought these tommorrow. what do i need to make sure my local grease monkey does for me he's bloody good but just want to make sure i get all the right things adjusted etc!!!
  16. Hi i am looking at lowering my is200. but i am wandering how low i can go without having to alter arches and wheels, etc. has any one lowered theirs with out having to adjust anything else and if so how low? i was looking at 40mm is this to much. oh yeah i should mension that i only want to change the springs as iam on a tight budget sadly. thanks alot
  17. Right guys i now feel very stupid!! i took her to the garage this morning only to find out 15 mins later that it was the oil filter! It had just worked its self loose and just needed tightening up! so panick over and i can get back to drivin with pride!! thanks for all your helps lads!
  18. hello mate sounds like i may need to do what you did then. i mean your never looking at any real increase in power from an induction kit are you? but i presume the temp would effect it either way by a couple bhp? Also when you made yours did you disect your pipercross kit to get the right angles mate? cheers :D
  19. sorry to be a dipstick, but what do u mean?? not to hot on tech!! lol Stav's asking if you've got a link to the forum posting that you just mentioned about someone tripling the intake temp. If you go to that forum and look at the posting then the "URL" (the web address) for that posting should be in the address bar near the top of the screen, starting with "http://" etc. You can copy and paste that link into the forum here. Right-click on the link in the address bar and there should be a "Copy" option. Pick that, and then post here on LOC and right-click and use "Paste" to paste in that address here. Hope that helps ! cheers steve makes sense now. will find the post and try put it on here
  20. sorry to be a dipstick, but what do u mean?? not to hot on tech!! lol
  21. brilliant thanks alot will have ago at doing this just got to find the right jollop to seal it back again!!
  22. sounds like i may be doing the right thing then. how can i talk to jasonL, sorry i am new to this club and not a lot of know how in terms of using it!! lol do you think i will notice an increase in engine temp as i read in a forum earlier that a guy had almost trippled his engine temp using similar kit and had to cut and re map the path of the the air intake hose so that it did not passover the engine. or is this just bull??
  23. Good idea i think, that's exactly the sort of thing I'd do in your situation. You could even extend your pipework so that the filter/cone sits directly behind the intake. sorry a little lost lol, In regards to pipework, which do you mean? the air feed ducting, or the siliacone hose to the throttle body? just a little more description if poss as i want to get it as good as possible mate thankyou
