  1. One thing missing from my LS400 is a set of floor mats. Someone has removed them. I could go back to the dealer for a set but I suspect the cost will be startling. Seems that all the aftermarket ones I've seen are a bit "Max Power" looking. Anyone know where I can get nice mats for a beige interir LS400, or am I going to have to pony up at the dealer?
  2. The boot of my new (to me) 1999 LS400 smells musty like the cellar in an old house. I presume water has been getting in somewhere for a while. Are there any "known leak areas" on this model of car I can check first? Thanks
  3. DHP? I never heard of that. I assumed all LS400 were the same. I learn something new every day.
  4. Thanks, I'm sure I will have plenty of questions. I am about to attempt to fit an FM modulator to the aerial lead into the audio system to run an iPod so I can see me getting in a mess there...
  5. Thanks. I like it. I still can't believe how much quality luxury motor you can buy for about the price of a 5 year old Focus LOL. I had enough change from £3K from buying that to fill the petrol tank and buy a nice lunch!
  6. Just picked up my "new" Lexus yesterday. I am now driving a '99 LS400 in some crazy purple and lilac 2 tone (although in most of the photos I look when I got home it looks brown!) I like big cars (you can sing that to the tune of "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mixalot if you like) and was all set to buy a Jaguar V8 4.0 S type until I thought I would go look at a local Lexus for sale "just to cross it off the list". Well, my misconceptions of the brand were shattered within about 0.4 seconds of seeing the car. The automatic trans hadn't even got into 3rd gear on my test drive and I knew I had to buy it. I've owned/driven/borrowed/hired some nice cars and some big luxury monsters of course, but the LS400 seems a perfect "compromise" of size, power, agility and luxury. OK, not as "sporty" as the S Type or whatever, but its cut from a different cloth... a far more luxurious cloth... Hopefully my photo link will work.... thats the beasty at home last night. I'm looking forward to putting some more miles on it :D Just getting the hang of all the controls now...
  7. I found it by typing "Lexus Forum" into google. You were the first link which was not obviously just/primarily for owners based in the US of A.
