  1. Just out of interest i want to know if the Plastic Engine cover from a IS300 will fit a GS300 as it doesnt come with one..

So if it will fit does anyone have an old one.. as its only really a trial and will be cut up etc

  2. the sliding pins are the ones that connect the body to the carrier... you undo one of the 14mm bolts that connect them when changing pads.

best way to check is to remove pads, bolt caliper back and move the caliper back and forth.. should slide nicely..

  3. wow its been a while since i read this post... and what is there to say really...

All i wanna know with regards to BHP.. is this...

What is the equivelant BHP per SMILE ...

For me it would be about how the car feels, as the IS200 charger doesnt add too many horses but adds huge amounts of smile!

I really wanna charge my GS... and this is looking as the best equivilant out there.. so will see how you get on over the coming months.. hopefully see the car and go from there..

Congratulations is all i can say really... and all i can say is i will be keeping my fingers crossed with regards to it being reliable and powerful!

Also .. could you PM me the rough figures for the conversion etc... need to start saving

  4. Was gonna say it seems more like a coolant issue.. is the GS run with a heater matrix for hot air? Could some of the leakage be there? they do go on a lot of cars.

Seeing as it wasnt run massively hot for a long time there could be a saving grace there... Getting the coolant system sorted and then re-checked would be interesting.

Good luck with it all though

  5. Welcome to LOC... all my ones were taken down yesterday too... thankfully for everyone they realised that it was in the interest of the members and not the individual and re-instated them..

Although i am going to be putting up scanned invoices for the Admin team and members to show costs etc to prove im not proffiting out of this.. is this something you could do to re-instate your GB..

Think back though... has and form of trading on here been easy? prolex vs TDi.... those were the days...

  6. As a lot of people have sold up recently, I'm just curious to know why people finally made the jump. Was it fuel economy? Road tax? Also, why did you choose what you replaced it with?

My reasoning for leaving Lexus was fuel economy and I wanted something more luxurious and more modern.

Chose the Volvo S80 for it's luxury and safety.

You will love the volvo until something stops working.. then you will do what i did.. run right back to lexus!

between Feb and April this year i owned a 2003 S80 3 litre straight 6 with everything on it... got a great deal on it... untill...

The passenger mirror failed, then that knocked out the window, the central locking on that side, the operation of the door handle from outside... so basicaly turned it into a 3 door saloon... cost over £700 to rectify due to a mother board type thing within the door... that even if you could get one second hand... wouldnt fix it.. new one plus re-programming to main comp = expensive..

In those two months it also cost me a new rear caliper.. new tyre.. new siren + costs for making the computer recognise siren + very over active computer telling me problems that kept dissapearing

    All this = Stress...

And equaled me getting my GS300....

    BLISS

And unless circumstances beyond my control make things different... im not leaving!

  7. Well as prices go (according to compareconsoleprices.co.uk)

    Xbox360 60gb From £159.98

Wii From £175.00 (although Not needed)

    PS3 from £284.00 .....

Either way.. you will have fun with all of them

We all have our favourites... but one thing i can lay testament to is when XBOX360's go wrong they sort it out ASAP.. where as friends with PS3s have not been so fortunate..

Blue ray films are overly expensive for what they are.. although if your hiring then its cool..

  8. Cant comment on any of the others but my son has a Wii and the best things about it are

    1) Promotes family style play rather than losing your children to the console - Lots of shared playing games and fun

    2) Most games are pretty active - rather than simply sitting with a controler in your hand - you are jumping, throwing, punching and twisting about with the controller - Keeps the kids a little more active than most the consoles and again makes it a fun experience for all the family.

After buying my son the PS2 when it came out - I regretted it after a few days - as I lost him to the system. In the end, had to ban him from it - Just think they are not very sociable things....The Wii on the other hand is completely different.

Worth finding if anyone has one who you know and give it a try.....same with all the other consoles.

November 19th the Xbox 360 gets a major update to the front panel that will enable it to match the WII with regards to family based items (allbeit with better graphics) it is gaining more and more WII like games and they are turning the console into a family hub..

I have a WII... spent ages tracking it down.. got a load of games... set it up.. a week later it was back in the box... 10 months later.. its still there.. lol

  9. One brand i would say stay away from is MAXTOR based devices (aka Seagate)

At work i have had over 5 new power supplied for the 320gb external backup drive in under 12 months... trust me its not a fun thing when you desperately need data off it.. and for a test example i even left the power supply unplugged from the drive and it still imploded!

As for personal use (finger crossed) i have had WD Books for a few years and have had a flawless intergration with them, i believe they do a 1TB WD BOOK for £125 now.. even wireless versions are availiable
