  1. Have just renewed my insurance for another year. Adrian Flux wanted £349 (fully comp, 2 years NCB).Tried all the comparison sites and best quote was £376. I then tried Sky Insurance who initially said Adrian Flux quote was very very good. After a few hours Sky Insurance came back with a price of £320!! For the last 2 years Adrian Flux have offered the best price for my Lexus and the past 6 years the best on my old Cadillac-so you do need to maybe change your insurers every year.
  2. I've got my LS400 and cadillac insured through Adrian Flux ( Tel: 0844 8888 701 ). Every year at renewal I get quotes from other companies but for the past 6 years Adrian Flux have always been cheapest for me. Probably depends a lot on your age/occupation etc so might not be cheapest for you but well worth a call.
  3. I bought mine from ebay( for a LS400 )-they were brand new and came from China for around £7. If you're worried about them being stolen, if they say they are from China then they are brand new and not stolen.
  4. The Tesco in Cheltenham had a problem a few months back where they installed a speed bump on the entrance to their car park which was too high and many people scraped their exhaust while going over it.Two people wrecked their exhaust on it and complained to Tesco and made a big fuss in the local papers, threatening to boycott the store and get all their shopping from Sainsburys in future. Tesco denied liability and basically told them to get stuffed. The speed bump was later reduced in size but the customers with damaged exhausts still got nothing. I think you need VERY BIG POCKETS to even try to take on Tesco-and I don't think they are the type of company to be bothered by bad publicity.
  5. Many thanks Mark-I will give Lexus Derby a call tomorrow. I tried Lexus Derby today-nothing in stock. They can order it in, but its £164 and comes in primer so I would have to have it sprayed to my colour-its getting quite expensive. I'll have to keep trying the online scrapyards...
  6. I have a 1994 LS400 and am trying to find the bottom spoiler for front bumper-I've had the car for about 2 years now and this part was damaged when I bought it, it looks like it has scraped on something and snapped the plastic. The rest of the car is immaculate so it is time I sorted this out.I've tried various places on internet, scrapyards etc without any luck. I dont really want to go to Lexus dealers as I'm sure the cost would be crazy. Any ideas where I might get this part for a sensible price?? Thanks Andy
  7. I've always found Adrian Flux to be the cheapest for me -I've got a 1991 Cadillac and a 1995 LS400. Every year at renewal I phone several companies and they've never once got anywhere near to Adrian Flux on price. Last year I paid £300 for the lexus fully comp( plus cover to drive any car)-that was with only one years no claims bonus on that car, much cheaper than anywhere else.
  8. that sounds good andy where did you get them cut ? I had the key cut in a normal shoe repair/key cutting shop-as long as they can cut the laser type keys it's no problem. I think I paid about £8 for them to do it as they were using my own key blank.
  9. I have a 1994 LS400 and also needed a spare key.I bought a basic key from Ebay ( 2 for £6 ) with no buttons on it, took to a normal key cutting shop and had one made and it opens the door and starts engine fine. The only thing you can't do is open the doors remotely as there is no button. The key cutting shop checked my original Lexus key to see if there was any electrics in it for immobiliser by simply holding it in a simple machine and there wasn't.so for a 1994 car you don't need to pay Lexus rip off prices for one of their keys!!
