  1. Tankplankers explanation is pretty much my understanding of the gauge. I am suprised though that your dealer didn't give you a thorough explantion of it. My dealer wouldn't let me leave until he had been over everything. If you turn on the display and watch it with the gauge you can see tanks explanation in the flesh but don't not look at the road every now and then!!! My wife doesn't appreciate it when I do that ;-)
  2. I have got Bt vision and it's very limited, it would take too long to go into all the detail but needless to say contract is up soon so I am readying myself to go to Virgin or sky. We went with vision because they were putting out good offers but if you look at the overall cost of vision, broadband and the phone all from Bt it is very expensive compared to competitors. As a recorder I think it's pretty good, you can do all the usual pause and rewind tv and program recording but the on demand service is not often used. This is because the user interface is so clunky it takes ages to find stuff. Final word if you just want on demand and be able to record freeview then vision can do that job but if you want cable etc go with sky or virgin, vision is a good idea badly implemented by Bt.
  3. A warm welcome to you, I know that driving home feeling I picked mine up on Tuesday and simply love it, may divorce wife and marry it and have done with it!!!!

    RX450h

    My Car
  5. Well, the top of the range RX450h is 5K MORE than the top spec X6 35D, yep 5K, so where did you go for your info, the Lexus is nothing like as quick, economical, and handles like a bean bag compaired to the X6. Unless you buy top of the range Lexus, the seats are to "SHORT" and tall people feel as though they are falling off them as they do not have enough "Tilt" adjustment". I could go on but whats the use. Lexus DO NOT do as they advertise, and that's the top and bottom of it, this coupled to increased (beyond the cars worth) pricing will ensure it's failiar. They are not selling as expected. This car has been extensivly tested in the US and if you watch their videos you will quickly see this cars downfall or rather "Lack of forward progress". Hey John, I wasn't trying to get in a row with the "BMW lovers uk.co.uk" I was just tying to find some Lexus lovers on this Lexus owners club, didn't want to offend you or you car, just trying to get a feel why there is a seemingly long running hate of the 450!! Anyway must go I need to log onto the BMW owners forum and tell them how great the RX450 is and see how that goes down ;-) No offence mate, I am not here for Lexus bashing, it's just I so wanted it to be as advertised, then I would have bought one, again no probs we must however speak as we find. :winky: Ha ha yeah totally that's a good philosophy to have, your right it's a shame you didn't like it, mine is about to arrive so I will report back on it's pros and cons after several months of testing, perhaps we can exchange notes!!!! Enjoy your Beamer!!!!!

  7. Just to play devils advocate here and as I am soon to be an RX450 owner and I am new to the forum I wanted to ask why does it seem that various threads appear to have such a downer on the 450? Having never owned a Lexus before i am open to all opinions and interested in all discussions. Having done my test drive and loved it and ran terrified from BMW and merc garages as they dragged out their list of expensive extras I am thrilled and waiting expectantly for my new purchase. I just hope that the 450 starts to grow on people or it looks like I will be billy few mates on the forum. LOL - I thought we would all love every Lexus as this is the Lexus forum!!!!!
  8. Somebody feel to correct me if they know better but I was told that if you unlock your iPhone then you will not be able to update via iTunes etc as Apple take a dim view of jailbreak phones? Could just be Apple scaremongering but it was enough to put me off as I need the updates as the thing freezes and goes wrong so often I need the latest patches to stop me throwing it through the window!!!' Anyone got a 3Gs, any better than others?
  9. Now you mention it I can't recall seeing it while on my test drive, mine will be delivered in about two weeks so I will let you know if it's there or not. Will be a bit annoying if it's not got one as I also charge phone in car via 12v socket. There is supposed to be a USB slot as well but I am yet to find that either. :winky:
  10. Hi everyone, Not actually got my car yet but it should be here by 20th Aug, I have chosen the RX450h as my first ever lexus. I will of course have lots of questions and have my first ones now. Does anyone have any advice on the best method to clean the car without swirls and scratches appearing almost immediately? I know not to put brushes anywhere near or in car washes but with all my other cars even hand washing only myself doesn't seem to help. Having spent the most I ever have on a new car I would like to get it right from day one so all advice gratefully recieved. Thanks very much
