  1. How does the 5th generation RX differ to the 4th, in terms of security? My 4th generation was stolen last year and I replaced it with another 4th. On this latest one I have had fitted a ghost immobiliser, canbus plate and use a Milenco steering wheel lock - am I still screwed?
  2. I had the plate fitted yesterday. I asked if it was the enhanced one and the guy didn't know what I was talking about. He didn't even offer to find out and let me know. I bought my first pre-owned RX in 2008, the customer service was second to none. Have bought 3 more since then (one was stolen) and each time the CS deteriorated. My latest experience with Lexus Hull was abysmal. Lexus just ain't what they used to be 😒
  3. I have a ghost II fitted that came with warning stickers. What is the concensus re putting them on the windows - yay or nay?
  4. I emailed CR at Lexus and within ½ hr had a reply, saying that my local dealership will be in touch to book me in. Thanks for the info 👍🏻
  5. Thanks. Yes, service book is stamped 1 June and I've not done that many miles since purchasing. The power error message I was trying to locate, came up again yesterday - only appears when I start the car and is there for around 5 mins. It says: 'High power consumption Partial limit on AC/heater operation' Any ideas?
  6. Hi. I bought my preowned 69 plate RX450H from Lexus Hull dealership 6 months ago (appalling dealership btw). It was supposedly serviced before purchase I'm now getting 2 error messages: 1. Oil maintenance required soon; 2. Yellow flashing triangle with exclamation mark with an error message. This is along the lines of there being a power issue, and the heated seats/steering wheel become inoperable - this message only flashes up briefly and I can't remember the exact wording. Can anyone enlighten me as to what the wording was likely to be, so I can point my mechanic in the right direction? Cheers
  7. You are right, it would be useful for that, although there is a service mode that you can activate for those purposes too.
  8. I decided not to use the fob anymore. I took it out of my bag and removed the battery. However, when I went out this afternoon, the Ghost beeped twice without my entering the code and the car started! When I got home I saw the spare key and fob on.the hall table (my son had used it half an hour earlier) and wondered if the car had 'read' that fob. I went out again to test if it would do again but it didn't so a bit of a mystery. NB. Have now taken the battery out of the spare fob too.
  9. I did complain and got the installer to come back. Apparently it is Lexus/the car that determines which buttons can be used. Subsequently, i was provided with a fob so the car now knows it's me when I get in and I don't need to enter the code. Am slightly concerned though, whether this can be accessed by thieves in.the same way they access keys using the relay method. I did ask the installer this question and all they said was that the fob can't be cloned.
  10. Hi. Yes, I checked with my insurance and they are not interested, therefore no reduction in premium.... The Milenco is good. Very easy to fit/remove, not too heavy and doesnt damage the steering wheel. I had to return the first one I bought though as too often the key wouldn't go fully into the lock - once it took me 10 minutes to get the damn thing off.
  11. Ronnie- I am the good lady and as much as I love my car, I certainly won't be bedding down for the night in it!
  12. Hi LenT. Am getting on well with it but was initially very disappointed with the limited buttons available to use for the 'password'. Having seen videos of the ghost2 in action, I had planned to use those on the steering wheel but not one was available - it was mainly the buttons on the panel that operate the heating etc
