Master Warning light - heated seats etc disabled

Recommended Posts

Hi. I bought my preowned 69 plate RX450H from  Lexus Hull dealership 6 months ago (appalling dealership btw). It was supposedly serviced before purchase

I'm now getting 2 error messages:

1. Oil maintenance required soon;

2. Yellow flashing triangle with exclamation mark with an error message. This is along the lines of there being a power issue,  and the heated seats/steering wheel become inoperable - this message only flashes up briefly and I can't remember the exact wording.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the wording was likely to be, so I can point my mechanic in the right direction?

Cheers

The oil maintenance is just a count down from 10,000 miles so unless you have done that mileage either the service was not done or they did not reset the service reminder, did they stamp the service history?

I would expect there to be stored error conditions that can be read with the right equipment.

If it was a Lexus approved vehicle I would assume you can take it to another dealer to get sorted.

Thanks. Yes, service book is stamped 1 June and I've not done that many miles since purchasing.

The power error message I was trying to locate, came up again yesterday - only appears when I start the car and is there for around 5 mins. It says:

'High power consumption

Partial limit on

AC/heater operation'

Any ideas?

I think maybe “I’ve not done that many miles since purchasing” is the factor here coupled with the now cooler weather.

If the hybrid Battery is not charged to the required level the car will attempt to preserve what is available and shut off any non essential demand.

Once the engine kicks in, charging commences, the Battery level reaches an acceptable level and the light and warning goes out, in your case after 5 minutes.

Regarding the oil service if it’s not due yet I would be asking questions at the dealership.
