Thanks for replies. The battery in main fob is only a few months old(£5.00) at Timpsons fitted. So as both fobs failed dont think it is that. Will just have to wait and see

Horror upon horrors the other morning my remote zapper key would not unlock Lexus. I tried the spare key, again without success. Light on zappers came on though and as both remotes failed I suspect receiver? in car. I foolishly tried using key itself to unlock car but that just sent alarm off. ( Sorry neighbours at 7am ) Later during the day I went home and it works ok. 4-5 days have passed and (touch wood) it has not gone wrong again. I DID NOT IMAGINE IT! I take precaution now of only single locking with zapper so that if it fails again I could use key. Which means though it is not alarmed. Is this type of thing common or could it have been a one-off. It was a fine, if damp, spring morning. In depths of winter with car covered in ice it was ok. Any help much appreciated.

on a similar topic my spare (black) key has had a flat battery for months. can it still be replaced easily. My main black one had a new battery fitted by Timpsons for a fiver. Am concerned that been out of action for so long it might have lost something, memory?

IIRC, The Sport Cross doesnt have a rear boot/taildoor opener so only has two buttons. The Black ones are master and can be copied , the grey CANNOT be copied, this can be used for valet parking, servicing etc to ensure no one can copy your keys. Do NOT lose both black ones it would be a major expense.

I went to Timpson, Paid a fiver and they fitted battery. Have been told when you take battery out you only have a few seconds to replace it

Interesting topic. Mines a 2004 SE Limited edition Electric sunroof, 11 spoke alloys, full leather, HIDs, grey( sorry I prefer gizmos to colour) But I can only see 4 speakers. Two in front doors, two on rear window shelf. Where are they please?
