I know EXACTLY what you mean! I've had 2 x MK1's, a MK1 sport, a MK2 SE, 2 x MK II sports and they ALL had the old sunroof problem. The only fix that I've mahnaged find is, when it does rattle (and yes, it's not ALL the time) is to open the top blind FULLY and then swiftly close it again!.... Sounds silly, but it works.... Oh yes, another cure I found for it......I bought a :D GS430 !!!! :D If I still have a driving license this time next year, it will be a miracle :duh:

Hi, Car now listed in Autotrader for £4995. Based in Washington, Tyne & Wear. Did a National Autotrader search this morning. It's the cheapest sport by over £1000. Text as follows : 1996 Lexus GS 300 Sport, 1996, green/black metallic, grey heated leather, 115k, full Lexus history, new MoT, taxed, immaculate 18 alloys, new pads, CC, multi CD, full electric pack,lexus owners club member, HPI report, 2 former . . . . (private) There is also a pic of car. Not very good tho! I did complain when the guy came to take it, but he said he couldn't get a better one! He then left with his white stick .....Doh !

Question, Does anyone know why the Aristo's come with a TV but the English GS's with Sat Nav don't? It's pretty well known that the JAP spec is better (well not necessarily better but you get more!).... I know that there are issues about paint etc.... UK Audi, BMW, Mercedes all supply SAT NAV with TV's but not Lexus! I know you can convert with a multimedia converter from Lextasy but the question is.... Why should we have to pay an extra £500-600 to do this. Why can't it be a factory standard? B) Just wondering B)

Hi'ya, Since the birth of my new GS430, I am putting my MK1 sport up FOR SALE. Trouble is, I'm not sure how much to ask. It is : MK1 GS300 Sport B) 1996 N Registered 114,527 miles Full stamped Lexus Main Dealer Service History Very dark green (almost black - think it's Oxford Green?) Grey unmarked leather interior 12 months MOT 2 months road tax good condition overall, but needs 2 front alloys refurbing & front bumper has 2 x " scratches. I am grateful for any indications. Hi'ya, It's good to be back. Dj Mike 'ere. Well, I've taken the plunge..... I had a MK1 sport which I've been running around in for the last couple months, but just couldn't resist. I've bought a 2001 - GS430. All I can say is......... :D What a Beast!!! :D This is definately a wolf in sheeps clothing. Talk about rapid ! Anyway, good to be back.... Just a couple of questions..... Does anyone know what the warranty is on a 2001 GS430? The reason I ask, is that the wing mirrors are starting to dis-colour (like a purple blob!) on the inside. I seem to recall having a problem with this on a GS300 Mk2 sport.... Will Lexus change them under Warranty (presuming there is still one left?) The car is 2001-Y with 83k on the clock. Pic's to follow. It's GGGGGGGgggggggrreat! to be back. L8r, Mike. P.S Not sure what other 430 owners are getting fuel economy wise, but I drove at an average of 85-90 back from London yesterday. It did 26.9 to the Gallon and did 370 miles on a full tank (cost £42). :winky:

Hi'ya & A Happy New Year!, I've just purchased a MK1 Lexus GS300 sport (Dark green, N Reg, 112k, Full Lexus History) off Ebay for £4750. Anyway, the car at present only has the standard 18" wheels all round. I am trying to get a hold of a couple of 10" rear (deep dish) alloys from the Mk1 Sport for the rear of the car. I think it looks far more sexy with these on! B) Any help or guidance on where I might get a couple of these (either with or without tyres) would really be appreciated. Can you help? Hi Guys, A couple of calls on the car already :D but all long distance (mind you, I'm sure people will travel for a car like this!?) As for LOC-G discount, I will knock £1000 for gold members. This will be £12999 for a Mk2 GS300 SE Sport 1999V. I paid £17,000 for it on June 1st. Someone is going to get a bargain !!! Hi Gary, I can well believe it..... I've lost count of the amount of people who complimented my car (Mk2 300 Sport also). My previous car 'GS300 SE' was class also and got many comments, but the sport is a real head-turner. I'll miss mine when it goes! Still, needs must.

Thanks for that Gary. I'm not v.happy with ebay pic's or auto trader pic. They both don't do the car any justice. You're right. I need to take 5-6 photos inside & out. It was a pretty :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: day when I had the photos taken so they all came out pretty dark. Also, it has gone in the autotrader even the photo they have taken is naff !!! Think I might upgrade to a king spot in next weeks and drop the price to £13.5k ono (as it's in at £13,995 no offers at the mo!). Thanks for Gary and Colin for the advice. Here's hoping. It has Andorra leather, no Sat Nav. Never needed it. I did once have a 99 - 300SE with Sat Nav. It drove me round the bend having to go though all those menu options just to change climate/audio. Still, nice toy though !!! :D :D :D I am open to offers on it.... Lets see how it goes on day 1 of sale tomorrow. ;) Thanks again.....

Hi, I am selling my pride & joy. It's a GS300 Sport 1999V with 68k. I've just found out that I'm loosing my job, so my pride & joy must go..... I bought it from Lexus Teeside in June for £17k. I've put it in Autotrader & Top marques this week for £13,995. Do you think this is about right? It still has 9 months warranty, 10 months MOT and 6 months tax. 1 previous owner with FLSH. I would really appreciate any indications on price. Have I put it in too low/high? Here it is on ebay! My car for sale on Ebay :-( P.S The car is also on ebay for same price. Thanks in advance Guys.

:) :) Well, received the parts AT LAST!. Turned up on Thursday. The Decals for the 'C-Pillar' were fine. Carbon fibre look, self adhesive. They were on in 10 minutes. The Side turn indicators for the mirrors were a DIFFERENT 'kettle of fish!'. I was under the impression that these were replacement mirror backs and you had to take the old ones off!. NOT the case. They were just caps that stuck over the existing mirrors, and boy did they make the mirrors look HUGE ! Because the mirror caps have the indicator and all the wiring in it increased the size by nearly 30%. So, after all that I have been in touch with Lextasy and they have agreed to take them back minus 25% stocking fee, it does state this on their web site ($425 - 25% - shipping both ways! Not Cheap!). Well, we live and learn.

:duh: Update.... After yet ANOTHER call to Lextasy (Calif., USA), it turns out that they've sent my items (total $535.00 - Tom's Side mirror blinkers & C Pillar carbon fibre decals) using the wrong tariff. The items got sent back to Lextasy. It was a good job I contacted them..... No phone call to explain what had happened. Spoke to Steve I think it was, he says he's re-sending them out last Thursday. Looks like another 2-3 weeks wait! Oh, he has promised to send me a free Lextasy tee tho ! Not that impressed with the Customer Service. Let's see'f the products are upto much ! .......TBC :D

;) Hmmmm.... Maybe someone will beg to differ, but I don't think the GS MK1 sport was out as early as 1994........ and your right.... Only differences are 18" alloys, mesh grill, sport badges in rear quater, rear spoiler (and I think possibly lowered?). Very nice looking car..... I've got the Mk2 sport and I still like the look of the Mk1 sport. Doesn't look dated! Whatever you get...... happy buying. :D
