  1. Yes it is as easy as you think. Ive done mine in blue. just break into the wiring right up near the ignition barrel ring and route a 2 core cable to each point in the footwell. you can pull the heated seat controls out to gain access round the back of the stereo to the front footwell, and then under the plastic cover that covers the edge of the carpet then under the carpet to the rear footwells. I just used a couple of through crimps and bobs your uncle.

Obviously you need to make sure you get your feed and neutral the right way round though.

  2. Yeah I know Matt, it's cars. I just prob expected more after buying one with a full Lexus history etc....

In regards to the ZX, yes both turbo's went but the point I was trying to make is I didn't get these little probs with those 2 cars. No sensors failures, no breaks seizing, no puddles of fluids under the car in the morning. I knew when I bought the ZX that it was 9 nearly 10 years old and I was aware that the turbos notoriously went around that age...

But yeah your right maybe I'm just feeling a bit sorry for myself lol!

My last car, an 08 Honda Accord was Superb, that never had a thing go wrong but it was a lot newer!

At the end of the day I've formed a stupid attachment to this bloody Lexus, and I'll guess I'll keep throwing my money at it because when all is said and done I still have a little smile when I walk towards it and I get compliments on how nice it looks all the time. Also when I meet other IS200 owners a lot say to me "wish mine looked that" :)

Thats what its all about mate. The compliments and the heads they turn driving through town. I get far too attatched to my cars and dont plan on ever selling my IS. Only other car I really want is an impreza sti but I will save up and have that as a weekend thrash etc. As for my lex, i will run it until the engine conks and then swap to a 2jz and carry on but with an even bigger smile on my face ! :phone:

  3. oh right i see what you mean, so in reality how much of a budget could this be done on? im guessing it would be abit more than £2K

    Maybe not

    Manifold £150

Welding - free if you do it?

    Turbo £100 for second hand

Black box will do if staying below 0.3 bar - £70

    Intercooler - £100

    Pipework and hoses - £100

    Filter - £50

Down pipe fabrication by exhaust shop - £150 to £200

That's if you search for parts, and fit it yourself.

So is there a specific turbo really? or just a stock turbo off another car?

    And these manifolds? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Lexus-1JZ-GTE-turbo-manifolds-Supra-Soarer-Drift-/300880611135?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item460de1c73f

or this the one you on about? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/90-93-Toyota-Supra-JZA70-MK3-Turbo-Manifold-1JZ-GTE-MF6101A-/400397495847?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d398cee27

  4. Just direct from the website i think. They were rather expensive aswell. a fair amount more than bosch but then the bosch ones are £$%& anyway. Cant remember exactly though. they come with like a windscreen prep kit that makes the water justt run off it. All in all very good.

  5. I take it you have an IS200 in which case You could get a tte supercharger which just bolts on. Or spend more and swap to a 1g-gte or 2jz-gte. Either are massive improvements but not easy. You could turbo the standard engine but they aint that strong so you have to be careful or BOOOOOM.
