  1. Thanks for your replies . I havent got around to trying the Reset Procedure yet (Cant find my Owners Manual) . Ive tried turning the switch off in the Glove Box but still no joy there . Had a quick look at the Owners Manual onlne and it looks like you can move a Lever after removing a piece of the lining on the inside of Tailgate ? I havent got a Sunroof and all the Electric Windows are working OK.
  2. Seems to be one fault after another ! After fitting new 12V Battery when all the Dash Lights went haywire , the first fault was the Drivers Side Front Door only locks and unlocks using the Key . I have now just found out the Boot isnt unlocking Manually or with the Remote. I have tried disabling it with the Button in the Glove Box but still no joy . The last time i can remember being open was when the Battery was changed about 3 - 4 weeks ago and i remember findinf a Triangular shaped bit of Plastic that was obviously something to do with the Boot Lock, but i couldnt work out where it went ! The Mechanic soon found out that it had come off from the open Tail Gate above my head and clicked it back into hopefully the correct position..... thinking now could it be upside down ?? Thanks in advance.
  3. Anyone got any ideas why my Drivers Door is not locking on my 2009 RX450H when i press 'LOCK' on Remote ?( All the rest do !). If i lock it manually from inside, it is the also the only Door that doesnt unlock when i press 'UNLOCK' on the Remote. Its also the only door that you cant hear anything happening from when you press LOCK or UNLOCK with the Remote. Thanks in advance.
  4. Weve had our 2009 Lexus RX 450 for 5 years now , serviced every year by Lexus and has never had a problem. Got in it this morning and lots of Warning lights flashing and showing DSS1, FR.ACT.STAB, RR ACT STAB, and AIR SUSPENSION. The Orange Engine Warning Light is Flashing, The Red Airbag Light and the Red Electric Power Steering Light . Also the Orange Anti Skid and a couple of Orange Lights with it were flashing but stopped when i started driving . The Car seems to be driving lovely as it always has done with all these lights flashing ! Any ideas anyone ? Going to give Guildford Lexus a ring tomorrow . Thanks in advance.
  5. Everything has worked as it should do today for the Missus . Hopefully if it plays up again , it will be before the one year warranty runs out early next yet . Going to ring Lexus tomorrow to tell them what happened so they can put it on record.
  6. I got into the car this evening, and twice pressed the Power Button , but the Ready light didn't come on ,all the other Dash Lights came on as normal. The car wouldn't do anything , so got out , locked it then unlocked and tried again , but still the same . Tried once more inside the car but still no Ready Light. Got out and locked it again , and left it about thirty seconds before trying again. Luckily this time everything worked alowing me to drive home . Anyone ideas ? Thanks Rob
  7. Just had the first chance to drive the car since the wife picked the car up on Monday . New Tyre fitted and new Brake Discs and Pads fitted on both Rear Wheels . All noise gone and drives perfectly . Why couldn't they have done this when it went back the first time instead of, in my opinion lying to me saying they all do it ? Now where do I send my letter of complaint , Lexus UK or the Lexus Main Agent ?
  8. They are now replacing the tyre free of charge so hopefully everything will be OK noise wise from the OSR Wheel . As for the Nail in the NSR , they say they can repair it , and as it's repairable , the Tyre Insurance does t cover it . They have offered to put a matching tyre on for the £145 . Fed up with them so told them just do the replacement free tyre and I will pick it up on Monday and get the Tyre with the nail in sorted myself !
  9. Thand for the replies lads. They've put new rear discs and Pads on under the warranty , but are saying that I have to pay for the tyre that had gone out of shape . The tyre was nearly new with the car when we bought it in March and we have done about 2000 miles on it . I have said it must be a manufacturing fault and they should also replace it free , but it is stalemate at the moment with them saying it isn't their fault and I need to pay for it ! Next step please ?
  10. Well , the car went in yesterday for its second time and surprise surprise , they have replaced the Rear Discs and Pads after finding something was touching something else ! Very annoying after hearing the noise on the Test Drive and being told by the Salesman that they all do , and after a while noise will cease after the Oxidation goes , then being told the first time when it went back , there wasn't anything wrong by Lexus Service ! The missus took the car over and told them she didn't want to be fobbed off this time , and if they all made that noise , no one would buy one ! Anyway , the other noise that I thought was the Wheel Bearing turns out to be the newish Tyre in the same position ( OSR ) that has gone out of shape . This still is a pretty new looking Tyre that came with Car when we bought it in March , and they say needs replacing at my cost . Im after an opinion or two whether Lexus should also pay for this ! And to top things off , the NSR Tyre has a nail in it , found by Lexus Service that they say needs replacing . When I told them I took out Tyre Insurance with them , I've been told they will try and repair it first . If I have got to pay for one Tyre , anyone know what Tyres they use and how much compared to a local tyre company ? Thanks in advance Rob
  11. Car finally booked in with Lexus on Friday 18th Sept. Told the Service Manager of the replies on the forum and that the noise that he told me when it went in last time that they all have , don't seem to be that common with forum members ! He has arranged a Courtesy Car as they may need it a bit longer , so hopefully will get to the bottom of it ! Will let you know the results and thanks for the replies.
  12. The noise seems to be worse when we back out of our drive and touch the Brake pedal as it comes to a stop ready to drive forward . Not quite so bad when using the footbrake going forward.
  13. I bought my RX 450 from Inchcape Lexus, Guildford in March this year . It's a 2010 car with 60000+ miles on the clock with full Lexus history . Having owned an RX 300 for 5 years before , I knew the price of servicing , so took out their Four Year Service Plan that covers two full services and two intermediates including parts for just over £1400 . It's interest free and repayments were just over £40 a month .
  14. 4 x Continental Cross Contact , all with plenty of tread but only the OSR making that noise . I describe the other noise when reversing and braking when I back out of my drive as like metal to metal on brake pads and disc .
  15. I should have put this up when I bought my RX 450 ( 2010 ) from Lexus Main Agent six months ago . When we took the car for a test drive , straight away I noticed a noise from the OSR wheel ( I was sat over the wheel in the back and my wife was driving with the salesman in the passenger seat ) and said it sounded like the Brake Pads were worn out so i said they would need replacing . He said it's Brake Oxidation and the noise will go as they warm up . I will admit it does , but not completely , and is as bad again when the car has been parked for a while . I don't really use the car apart from short trips ,as it's her car and I have my own , but we've just been on holiday where I did all the driving , and on motorways there is a noise that iscoming from the OSR tyre , like your going over the Lane Rumble Strip , but not loud at all , just annoying. The only way I can describe it is it sounds like a puncture letting a small bit of air out every time the wheel turns , and gets slower or faster with whatever speed the vehicle is doing . You don't seem to hear it driving the car around town . The car did go straight back to Lexus when I said something didn't sound right with the Brake Pads , but I think they said there was 4mm of pad left which was enough and they all make that noise ! Now if I was spending that much money on a new one , surely it should be silent ? The car drives absolutely perfectly apart from these strange noises that I'm sure aren't tight . Any thoughts would be appreciated Thanks Rob
  16. Someone give me an opinion please !! I've got to talk to them on 2nd Jan . Dont mind if you say it's my fault ! Lol
  17. I am after some opinions on this . I have owned my RX 300 SE - L ( Air Suspension model 2004 )for five years now and i have carried on with the servicing at the same Lexus Main dealer it was originally purchased from . The N/S/F shock absorber started making a noise when steering left or right , so a phone call was made to my Lexus Parts Department .Describing the noise to him , he asked if the Air Suspension was still OK , to which i replied it was . He then said all i would need is a Top Mount and Bearing , and that would save a lot of money as it was near on a thousand pounds to have the new complete unit fitted. He also told me it was a very easy job to do , so i said i would get my own mechanics that service my work vehicles to fit it so saving again on the higher Lexus fitting costs . I went back a few days later when my parts arrived to pick them up , and thought it might be a good idea to drive around the back and let one of the Lexus Technicians have a quick listen .He confirmed i had the correct parts to cure the problem , but also added , all they usually do is pack it out with grease , and that cures it ( The Technician didn't know it was as Air Suspension model ) My own Mechanics were called and were asked to come around and do a quick job for me and a date was arranged when the Wife didnt need the car for a couple of hours . I recieved a phone call asking me if the part had been modified because it was slightly different to the one on the car . I phoned the man i had been dealing with in the Parts Dept and he said it is 100% the correct part and there have been no modications ( He did originally ask from the first phone if it was an Air Suspension , would have thought they should have known through the Number Plate as tthey've looked after the car for 10 years !) Anyway , a phone call was made back to my mechanics assuring them it was the right parts and somehow they made them fit. I took the car out for a drive , and it drove perfectly, but the next morning the air wad gone out of the Shock Absorber .Oh no , i knew i now had problems. I started the car , the suspension pumped up and it drives as it should do . The left to right steering noise is cured , but when suspension is pumped up to high setting , it seems very hard and theres a knocking noise up and down over lots of little bumps .Back on normal setting , the car drives fine , but sometimes it loose it air and sometimes it doesn't. It has been like this since the fitting about two and a half months , after the Lexus Parts Dept said they should have done the job !! ( He told me i could probably even do it !!! ) Knoing this matter needs sorting , i phoned another Lexus Main Agent out of my area talking him through from the first phone call to now .Straight away he said the Unit is sealed and cannot be split , also adding that if the Parts Man had flicked the page , it would then have taken him off the Non Air Suspension to the correct one for my vehicle . With this information , i went back to to him and told him he had supplied me with the wrong parts and i think it is his fault for the predicament I'm in now. He admitted his mistake , and said he was very sorry and it was the first mistake he had ever made . I was told he would ring back to see what could be done. I recieved his phone call to be told that thet hold my Mechanics responsible but out of courtesy , they will let me have the new unit at cost ( £462 + VAT ) and their Service Manager will fit it for £360 . So it comes to roughly the same price as if I'd gone down the correct route in the first place .i said I'm quite happy to pay for the new complete unit at cost , but fitting should be free , as in my opinion , you've already cost me over £400. The Service Manager wouldnt budge , he said he can offer no more so he advised me to go to Customer Relations. A call was made to a lovely lady at Lexus UK . She took all my details and got back to me an hour later saying shehad spoken to the Parts Manager , and he also thinks my Mechanics are at fault. Im not happy by this reply , and am convinced the Parts Man has not told his Boss the full story of his mistake , tgat he admitted to me , and the subsequent phone calls asking him if he is sure its the right part. Anyway , Customer Relations at Lexus UK are going to make a final call to the Top Dog of Lexus branch when whoever it is returns from their Christmas Holiday . Whats your thoughts on this blame wise ? Merry Christmas everyone
  18. Hi everyone My names Rob and i live in Camberley,Surrey Just sold my 1991 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo that i had taken to 420 BHP over the 10 years that i owned. It was a sad day when it went out of site last Saturday but being with the Mrs now for 3 years, with a little 2-year old terror of a son,The singleton days are officially over and its time to invest in a sensible family car. From what ive seen of the LOC so far,its looks like you can get alot of good advice, just like the Z-Club i was in with the Nissan. After looking at several RX300s , we have found a 54 plate SEL that was a Lexus demo model with every extra (DVDs in the seats for Terror Child),73000 miles and a fully stamped service book by Lexus. It certainly ticked every box for both of us and we pick it up on Friday .
