  1. Back again !! Don't know if my HUD is working correctly but it doesn't always show Speed Limit of the road I'm driving on. When it is showing, it changes to the different Speed Limits most of the time as it should, and also goes a complete Red Circle when you exceed the Speed Limit, but you may be in say a 30 Limit and it removes itself from the Window, but still shows on Dash. Also occasionally it'll say the Speed Limit is 100 MPH or as in the photo, 120 MPH ( bit blurred !) as it has just done in a 40MPH Speed Limit and stayed on this until i made a left turn into a 30MPH Limit. Is this just how they work ? TIA Rob
  2. We've finally got the Car back from Lexus Gatwick and the Engine is now running perfectly through the 15 Second Cycle where the Knocking/Rattle/ Vibration was before. Engine is now smooth with no strange noises and car is driving perfectly. It has come back with a small mark that is hard to see unless the light is right, and Tim, their Master Technician who repaired the engine said they will be sorting this matter out and apologized profusely saying the car had been moved lots of times since the car was returned on March 28th and they didn't see it. Engine wise, the parts that were replaced were Cylinder 4 Fuel Injector on the first visit, and Cylinder 1 Port Fuel Injector on this visit. In my last Update, i said they had found the Engine was down on Power. This turned out to be a High Pressure Hose that was kinked and a new one was fitted. Got to say a big thankyou to Tim, what a lovely, genuine person to deal with and kept me up to date with how the repair was going. You know when you talk to someone if they know their stuff, and he certainly did . Motorline Lexus Gatwick need Tim to give a few lessons to certain other people they employ how to deal with the Public who spend a lot of money with them. Happy at last Thanks everyone Rob
  3. Still haven't got Car back yet, and as you know, the Car was returned to Lexus Gatwick for the Third Time on 28th March ! Had a Phone Call from Tim , their Master Technician who i know is trying his best, last week telling me Number 1 Port Injector has now been replaced ( Number 4 was replaced on Second Return ) My Shell V - Power Fuel had been drained and replaced with fresh Fuel as a precaution as he was getting multiple misfires, and my Fuel has been sent away to be checked for Contamination . Should get Results back soon, he said 10 days max. from when they sent it. So Engine was put back together , Refuelled and he said they are now getting no Misfires at all, but for some reason the Engine is now down on Power. So they are now trying to sort the Under Power Issue out . Apparently, they had another one come in last week with exactly the same Engine Knock/Rattle/ Vibration, parked next to mine in Workshop ,and ive also received a Private Message from Steve from Scotland with his doing exactly the same as mine in the Videos. How common is this Problem ? I'll be ringing the very helpful Customer Service Team at Lexus UK tomorrow. Will keep you posted ! Thanks Rob
  4. Hi PGLex We picked the Car up from Lexus Gatwick back in January and it had this problem as soon as we got it home. Obviously i don't know what Fuel the previous owner put in it, but i personally don't think its poor Fuel. Its been back to Lexus Gatwick Three times now, so they've probably had it as long as ive had it, and ive only ever put Shell V-Power E5 Petrol in it (At least Three to Four Tankfulls ) and the Engine Knock/Rattle has remained the same.
  5. The Car was returned to Lexus Gatwick for the Third time on 28.3.22. As i said in my last Post, Tim the Technician informed me the new problems they had found that had moved from Cylinder 4 after the new Injector on Cylinder 4 had been replaced with new one, but unfortunately he's been off sick for a while, but returned yesterday. He messaged me yesterday that they have ordered another new Injector that should be here today, but they were also getting Multiple Misfires in that 15 Second Cycle that they thought could be poor Fuel. They have replaced my Shell V-Power Fuel with whatever they use and are now no longer getting the Multiple Misfires when the Engine has its problem in the 15 Second Cycle ...... mmmmmmm !! Maybe get the car back soon for next Update ! Thanks Rob
  6. Its funny you should say that. Just before we left to go on Holiday, we had a message to keep the Courtesy Car at least until Tuesday 19th April as the Technician that is dealing with it is off until then. I spoke to The Technician and as i posted before the problem had moved to Cylinder 5 and possibly another and he said something about Coil Packs. They've obviously done those and the fault is still there, and the After Sales Manager said in his message they now think its a Fuel Issue. So much for his ' Its a Characteristic Sound of that Engine' remark when i first took it back. I wish i had that remark in writing along with a few others like 'If we realign the Panels correctly, would you keep it' ( First 66 Plate RX450 we took back after finding it had been repaired) and this one ' If you do bring it back, we'll give you the Current Market Value '.
  7. The Initial Warranty was One Year Parts and Labour with a 30 Day Exchange, that Phil their Salesman said ( Not in Writing) that would be extended and don't worry about it due to the issues with the Engine. I have kept all emails, Messages and Whattsapp Messages and told Lexus UK what has happened so far including taking the first Car back due to being repaired.
  8. We bought the Car outright. Quite a few things he said that i don't think he should have said and when its finally fixed, Lexus Gatwick, Motorline and Lexus UK ( That i got involved a few weeks ago and have been great ! ) will be getting an email about what i think of the service we've been given. Don't know if you know, but i had already returned a 66 Plate to them after finding out it had Filler in one of the Door Posts. My Panel Beater friend confirmed it had had a replacement Wing at least and the whole Front End had been resprayed with Panels not aligning correctly. Did we want to keep it if they aligned the Panels correctly i was asked !! The F - Sport was the replacement !!
  9. We did look at taking it back and getting it replaced but the replacement had to be Grey with Black Interior and Lexus Gatwick said they couldn't find a replacement. Spoke to them yesterday and they said Engine is stripped and they are waiting for replacement parts but didn't say which parts. We have had a terrible experience dealing with them and still have Replacement Option but it should be perfect when we finally get it back or it will definitely be swapped this time. Most disappointing thing for us was the Aftersales Manager telling us its a Characteristic Sound of that Engine.
  10. Well, we've still got it and have made it plain its not going back for a Refund and whatever it takes, its getting repaired on The Lexus Relax Warranty. I ended up phoning Lexus UK and got a Phone Call back the next day from Lexus Gatwick to book the Car in again. It was going to be booked in anyway without that Phone Call but i just wanted to get them involved. Lexus Gatwick have loaned us a lovely NX300 F-Sport whilst ours is hopefully being repaired for the Final Time ! As i said before, I was absolutely gutted for Tim, their Lexus Master Technician who was adamant he knew what the Engine Knocking / Vibration was and guaranteed it would come back as new. Looks like he was Bang on Correct with Faulty Injector. So the Car had gone back in and ive just received a call from him . After replacing Cylinder Injector 4 last time, the Fault had moved onto Cylinder Injector 5 and Possibly another Cylinder along with a Coil Pack.. He had said he would rather replace everything, all Six Injectors but Lexus UK who pay the Final Bill probably won't let him unless he's showing a Fault on a few Injectors. So ive told him I'm in no rush, do the best you can. I think this maybe the Fix.....Fingers Crossed !! Will keep you Posted ! Thanks Rob
  11. It never seems to happen when engine is started from Cold. Its always after the car has been driven for a few miles so engine is warm, parked up and turned off for about 15 minutes then turned on again and Petrol Engine starts . As i said before, the knocking, Rattle lasts exactly the same amount of time from When Petrol Engine starts ( about 15 Seconds so its obviously its the same Cycle the Engine goes through everytime ) Ive just taken the Car out this morning after being left overnight and everything was perfect . Went back out 20 mins later to restart and the 15 Second knock/Vibration was there again , and after the 15 Seconds, you can hear the Cycle finish and Engine runs perfectly again. Have you listened to the Videos ive put up on the other Posts ? Hopefully our Friends friend from the other Lexus Dealership can shed some light on it this week. Will keep you Posted !
  12. We've still got the Car and its still making the same Engine Knock/ Rattle but is absolutely perfect after the 15 Second Cycle the Petrol Engine goes through whatever its doing when it starts after being driven a few miles. The Service Manager at Lexus Gatwick is still saying its a Characteristic Sound of the engine which really pisses me off and ive let the Salesman know. He has asked us to take a 'Leap of Faith' to see if the noise gets worse so they can pick it up on there Diagnostic Equipment, but if we are really not happy, they will pay the Current Market Value of the Car and take it back. He didn't say if the Current Market Value is the same as we paid for the Car, and if it finally goes back, i will want a Full Refund. He had reminded me that we have a Full 12 Months Parts and Labour Warranty, which will be kept going for at least another 4 Years on the Lexus Relax Warranty as it will be serviced yearly by Lexus. We didn't know, but have just found out we have a good friend who just so happens to be a Lexus Technician at another Dealership, and am waiting at the moment for a reply from him to get a Second Opinion. Will keep you Posted !
  13. To say I'm ****** off with Lexus Gatwick would be an Understatement. We had the Car delivered back yesterday Afternoon after apparently having No.4 Cylinder Injector replaced. Apparently, after showing their Master Lexus Technician the last Video, he told me he knew 100% what the Knocking Noise was and assured me it would be returned with no Knocking or Vibration. The Car apparently showed absolutely no faults at all on the Diagnostics the first time we took it in, but the Fuel Injector Pressures ??? we're lowered and we were told the knocking would be quieter and try it for a week......it was no different. So as you know, the car went back and it was now showing a slight Misfire on No.4 Cylinderthe Service Manager told me. They had the Car for a week and the Service Manager rang me to say it is ready and it is no longer showing the Misfire on No.4 after fitting new Injector. Guess what ??? The Car is still doing exactly the same knocking and vibration for 15 Seconds ( i won't bore you with another Video !! ) but something else has changed. I don't know if I'm correct with what's happens, but before the Petrol Engine started, we always heard what i think is the noise of the Hybrid System everytime before the Petrol Engine started . Now, it's never there, The Petrol Engine starts on its own when it obviously needs to, but we never hear the sound before anymore. Still saying it's a Characteristic Sound of the Engine. Also occasionally doing the misfire when car is being driven. I was so convinced by the Technician that the Car would be perfect, i had the other halfs Private Plate put on ! Do i just give up and say that's enough and get my money back as they did say the 30 Day Exchange would be extended, or send it back on Warranty again ? Don't know if I'd get anywhere contacting Lexus U.K ?? What do you think ? TIA
  14. Hi Wipeout Ive got a couple of months left in my Duellers so please could you let me know what the Yokohama Geolanders are like . Might give them a go if you like them otherwise I'm looking at the Pirelli Scorpion Verdes. If i could have got Michelin Cross Climates in 235/55/20 i would Definately have gone with them
  15. Having driven my 2010 RX450h (PX'ed it in for 2016 RX450h Luxury which we took back after a week), a 21 plate UX300 and an 21 Plate NX300 F sport (Courtesy Cars)in the last Month or so, i have now got the 2016 RX450h F sport ( The one with the Engine Knock!) It's at Lexus now having Engine Repair done, and i prefer the way it drives, the extra room to the Courtesy Cars and definitely the bigger engine over all the others ive mentioned.
  16. It's got Bridgestone Duellers on all four at the mo and must admit, it drives very nicely on them but maybe someone's tried other Brands !
  17. Will need a couple of 235/55/20s for my 2016 RX450h F sport soon Recommendations please ! TIA
  18. Thanks We've had Three Lexus now, an RX300, 2010 RX450h and this 2016 RX450h F -Sport. Only problems we've had are this and a Front Suspension Leg on the RX 300 Didn't realise but found out today that Lexus do a thing called Lexus Relax that covers new and used Vehicles bought from them and are Serviced by Lexus for 100000 Miles or 10 Years, whatever comes first . We always get our Car Serviced by them so it's like a new One Year Warranty after each Service, so going by our usual 5000 Miles a year, well be covered until January 2026
