The 17" are easily scuffed, use Bridgestone tyres with the rim protector lip on them.

If you get the wheels refurbished then whoever does them should give them a decent covering of clear-coat so you won't have corrosion problems again.

My wife had her one changed 6 months ago and she got the same type back. Seems there is a bit more of a shortage of these units now, we only had to wait a few days back then.

I don't think the latest ones use the same connectors so there would be more work involved. The one you get should be modified to fix the problem so there shouldn't be anymore ERR3.

Lexus UK even give a price on the web site for the IS300 + styling kit so it seems it's not just the dealers who might not be aware of this regulation.

I have contacted Lexus via their web site to get an answer but I don't expect an reply if the question goes to their customer service centre.

So how do Lexus get away with selling the IS300 with styling kit?

Now the Supra TT 6-speed is something you can really tune. 450bhp without too much cost or 1000+ if you are really rich.

I found my MR2T more fun on the road than my Supra. The Supra was just too fast, you run out of road too quickly!

Good on the track although a Skyline will beat it and is easier to drive due to it's electronics helping you out.

+94 (rev3) 3S-GTE stock was 245Bhp as stock not 240Bhp

If we want to be precise about this it is actually 241.6484 bhp as the only spec Toyota used for the J spec MR2 is 245PS not bhp. Also remember this figure is based on 100RON fuel.

The Celica GT-Four was the only car to use the 3S-GTE engine in the UK and that produced 239bhp on 95RON in 1994.

What type of alloys do you want? If you want the standard SE/Sport 17" then I'm sure there are people on this forum who are selling some.

As the IS200/300 styling kit removes the headlamp washers does this make your IS300 illegal?

I had a Supra for 3 years and my GS for 2 years now and they both always took/take 4-6 turns to fire up when cold. Seems to be common on these engines. They never failed to start though.

When I had a faulty Battery it just cranked slower - still took 4-6 turns but a second or two longer.

A lot of people on IS300.net have seen improvements when they fitted a grounding kit.

The RX is being imported in low numbers. Some dealers have already sold their initial allocation and are waiting for the next allocation to take them through to next year. So why discount the price, there are enough customers who will pay full price.

There was no recall. A TSB went out which means there is a fix and owners who complain will get it fixed under warranty.

The early MKII GSs made a screeching noise in hot weather when the steering wheel was moved. Don't know of any grinding noise TSB.

www.alldata.com is a good source for recalls and TSBs. Has anybody subscribed to this?

Clean them first, make sure they are completly dry and just paint over them.

The car is £15,000 from Lexus Swindon. It's a W/2000 UK sport with 19,000 miles.

The sensors look like the standard ones and are in exactly the same place as mine.

Its very common on Supras. [well it was on all my ones anyway  ]

OK the switches are the same front or rear and the MKIV supra and MKI GS300 shared many parts (almost every one!) so you should just be able to clean up the switch and replace.

What points in the engine bay does it connect to?

In Japan you have a large choice of options. So it depends what the owner ordered when it was new. Also some things are not as important in one country to another. Leather for example is not a big issue in Japan so it's an option and not standard.

In the UK we have the choice of colour!

I removed the sensor covers from my wife's IS200, used the tin of paint supplied with my wife's car and dipped them in it. Looks much better now in silver than the black plastic.

A 1994+ MR2T is 240bhp standard. Add a boost controller and intake and you have 280-300bhp for around £500. Add a new clutch, injectors, raise the fuel pressure add water injection and you will get 350bhp+

Speak to Fensport about an engine transplant. They do it to Corollas etc. They have a 3S-GTE in a corolla with 420bhp! They also import low mileage engines.

Just had a look on Fensport web site. They list a Blitz supercharger for the Tezz. £2,500 cheaper than the turbo.

Goto parts, select the Altezza and then engine tuning from the parts menu on the left.

Does the Tezz use a 3S-GE engine? If so why not buy a crashed MR2T and drop the 3S-GTE into it.

Bridgestone Potenza's S-03 are ultra high performance. Top of the range Bridgestones for road cars. As good as any in the dry and the best there is in the wet. Not the quietest tyre around and you won't get 20,000 miles out of them but that's normal for this level of performance.

Any news on your deal?

Toyotas have always been sensitive to incorrect torque of the wheel nuts. I have seen lots of documented cases of warped discs on MR2, Supras and a few Lexus due to too tight wheel nuts.

I cannot remember the correct setting - it should be in the owners manual.
