Re Whining- as i have just had to change a wheel bearing (front o/s) on a 2004 LS430, i can definitely say that it was a rumbling noise and not a whine that brought it to my attention. Tyres - well after a few years using Winter tyres i have shifted allegiance to Nokian. Their summer tyres are very quiet and long lasting.

I did consider winter tyres but have some 'snow socks' instead but have not yet seen any real need to use them on the LS. They are much better in deep water as well ( more sipes in tyre and extra tread depth), so the past few months of rain and flooding have meant no issues driving through deep water. Steering wheel doesn't even tug. If you have the cash up front, and somewhere to store the summer tyres until march, it's a no brainer. Many people have latched onto the stereotypical views of all season and winter tyres, and have never actually tried them. I'm a convert, 4th winter using them. Would recommend Nokians highly. I live 2 miles from nearest shop, and have some interesting hills to get up whichever of the 2 routes i choose for work or to get onto the A34 or M4. LS is my sole car so it has to be mobile year round.

Had Nokian WRA3 tyres on since the end of November. Drove up the hill from Streatley towards Ashampton last night which was rutted and frozen snow. No problems at all. If you have never tried winter or all season tyres, think about it for next year. Such a difference.

OK found the button(s). One is marked Set, the other is unlabelled. Pressing Set cleared the Low Tyre warning on dash. What a mad place to put some buttons- who would look near where your toes usually are? Cheers for the advice.

Mine's a 2004 car. This warning comes on for me nearly every time the wheels come off, but some time after. No idea why. Anyway I've had to use the reset a few times. The button's under the steering wheel but it's nearer the pedals than the steering wheel! You've probably just not looked far down enough! There are instructions in the manual if you have that, but basically you have to press the button once to reset, then press and hold until you see the 'initialised' message, Cheers Alun, will check in the morning. Seems a daft place for a button, certainly not spotted it so far !

Hi All, i have a 2004 LS430, and recently the low tire warning symbol popped up. Checked tyres, and indeed there was one which had lost some pressure. I gather you should reset the system post inflating tyres, but i cannot find out how. I realise after searching online and on this forum that different LS models /model years have a button under the steering wheel ( TPMS?) which mine does not have. Therefore there should be some sort of reset switch or procedure to get rid of the warning. Any ideas as to how you do this specifically on a 2004 car? Oh and why is it in American English? i.e Wrong

Took the car into the lexus reading for a minor service and they fitted the bulbs for free. I had tried to remove headlamps myself but could not undo some of the bolts. Thoroughly recommend Osram Xenarc bulbs by the way.

Hi Folks, purchased an LS430 a few weeks ago now, really enjoying the relaxing nature of the car. I noticed that one of my dipped beam xenon's is looking noticably dimmer than the other, so suspect it is the original bulb. How difficult are the d2s bulbs to replace? cannot find anything in the user manual as to how to change them? I know you have to be careful disconnecting it from the ballast unit but have done this before on a previous car. Anyone used the new Osram Xenarc D2s bulbs?

Some more info- my 2007 went into dealer today for 40k service, and i had reported poor mpg and occasional Check VSC light coming on ( which seemed to impact mpg greatly). They previously cleaned the EGR system, which made no difference to the mpg but did improve acceleration and throttle response. Today they have put in a warranty claim for a new diesel fuel pump. Considering i have done mainly motorway mileage ( hence 2 services in 4 months) with a high of around 37mpg whilst driving like diesel was £7 a gallon :), has anyone else had this (very expensive) part replaced?

Hi, can I ask where you bought them from and how much they were? Also do you just change them at the first sign of snow or say in the autumn for 6 months? Last question, do you have all 4 on as the Lexus dealer told me only the 2 rears which I found strange. Regards mipmip. Mytyres.co.uk, but back in September- i like to plan ahead. I gather they have been a tad busy, as conditions in Europe has been worse than here so demand is up in general, let alone from new Uk customers getting wise to winter tyre benefits. Prices all in came to about £500 for 4 inc fitting. Will probably change them back over in March. Re- only fitting a pair, that sounds ridiculous to me given the night/day difference in grip between summer/winter tyres.

Well i fitted Nokian WRg2 tyres in mid october, superb on snow, excellent traction and i think braking is the most staggering difference over summer tyres in these bad conditions. well worth the money. I dont see it as a cost, my summer tyres will now last 2 years, and so will the winters. Plus i am safer and can venture out when things are not ideal.

mrkfx, Pretty easy fix for this. If you roll each window down and up again all the way from the drivers switches a couple of times then the lights will stop flashing, and they should work properly.You must roll them all thee way up and down. Its a mechanism that come into play normally if you disconnect the window switch from the wire loom. Because the computer has to relearn the resistance points at the top and the bottom of the window frame. It may mean you have a loose connector or something like that. Hope this helps Thanks for this- worked a treat. I did disconnect the battery a week or so ago- probably the cause.

Hi All, I have few questions about my IS220dSe. I seem to have done something which has deactivated all passenger windows switches, and i noticed last night there are flashing lights on the buttons? How do i fix that? Secondly, is there a list of Lexus specialist or independent workshops in the UK? Thanks.
