  1. Which dealer is it again? They should be considered named and shamed.

I can't believe a Lexus dealer would do this. It's one of the reasons I'm back with Lexus, the dealers treat you like Royalty.

I've had interactions with three Lexus dealers in the past (Sheffield, Manchester and Stockport) and all are top notch.

One occasion which springs to mind is when my GS300 Sport went to Sheffield for a service and for them to fit a new electric aerial as I'd snapped it off. I drove there from Manchester and forgot to give them enough notice to sort out a courtesy car so I expected to wait in the showroom whilst they did the service. When I got there the service manager said "Here are the keys to an RX, go and take your missus shopping". So off we went in a brand new RX. When I got back they said service went fine no faults and it was only about £180. Then he fit the new aerial and when I asked how much he said "forget about it - no cost".

Just brilliant service. Not long after I sold my Lexus but that has always been in the back of my mind and now I'm getting a Lexus again.

  2. Every year the nice people at Lexus Wolverhampton collect the car, do the service and leave me a litre bottle of engine oil, 2 plastic gloves and a paper funnel. My IS200 was 6 years old when we swapped it and it never used a drop of oil. So i have 6 bottles of oil in the garage and tomorrow when the 250 is serviced i will probably get another. Does it have a shelf life?

Doesn't it use special mineral oil with a 10 year shelf life or something ?

  3. Cheers for the voice commands info. When I was test driving the IS250 the salesman asked me to press the button and say "Petrol Stations".

A list of petrol stations appeared and what impressed me was the proper icons for Shell, BP, Tesco fuel etc. Most impressive.

I hope you can't say "Supermarkets" or "Clothes Shops" or the missus will be having me on endless detours !

  4. Hi - I have just picked up my used 2006 250SE Auto with Multimedia - well pleased with it but have a couple of questions:

    1) How many keys should come with the car? I was only given 2 by the dealer an have no key tag with code number. I had 3 with a tag for my old IS200SE - should I get 2 or 3 keys?

    2) Like the voice control but I can't seem to find a list of commands the system accepts. I have mastered setting the temperature and changing CD track and disc number but what else can I get it to do? Is there a list anywhere? The help screen on the system isn't that much use.

    Thanks!

Surely it is in the owner's manual ?

  5. Sounds interesting, and congratulations for knocking a few quid from the original asking. From what I can see, you are paying 14,250 upfront (part-x and cash deposit), then to total of 15,540 over 35 months - after which I presume the car is legally yours, having paid a total of 29,790. At the end of year 3 the car is worth 12,700, but the car is yours then, right?

This prices the car at 5696 a year, or 474 a month.

I put in £7000 and they offered £7500 for part-ex and it's costing me £419 a month (14,000 miles a year) and £12600 guaranteed residual.

I also bought the three year servicing for £557.

  6. good way to do it is ring another dealer and tell them what deal another dealer is doing for you and if they can. If they do/can go back to your original one and tell them what you've got on the table. If new dealer can't then go to your current dealer anyhow and tell them the deal looks good but if you can throw in 2 services in the deal you have my deposit on the phone right now.

I told them if they fit the Lexuscare iPod kit they've got a deal. They agreed !

  7. Alright guys n gals,

It's only one junction on the motorway to the Trafford Centre which has recently had a massive extension built.
