  1. Hi all, it's been a year or so since I was last on here, I had an RX400h and did a carpet transplant on it! I'm now in a position to buy an RX450h, test drove one at a Lexus dealer today - wow, I want one (but not the one I drove for various reasons). I'm going to go for the SE-L Premier so I get the spec I want (ML audio, ACC and sunroof). So it'll be a pre facelift/ pre 2012 in any case. Im really looking for feedback on the ACC - if it's any good, does it work well at night or in bad weather etc. I understand it only operates above 30mph, is this correct? And also the PCS - is this 'always on', does it work etc?! I couldn't find much on the internet about these systems and the dealer wasn't too clued up on it as it's 'old tech' now. The dealer I went to today wasn't my nearest, I went to Lexus Croydon and was very impressed by the staff there, probably the best car dealership experience I've ever had (and I've been in a few 😆). Anyway, hoping someone can fill me in on the ACC/PCS feedback, thanks.
  2. Thanks! The mats I got new from Lexus on eBay - they have like a Lexus outlet for old stock on eBay - email them though as with mine they'd listed them wrong for the years they would fit so it appeared they didn't stock any, but they did! (There must have been an easier way to explain that!!!!)
  3. Just thought I'd post this as I read a lot on the web about weird things happening to the car in terms of dash lights, the brakes priming themselves if you have the key near the car etc. Anyway, that's all cods wallop :) Simple diy job, bought the front discs and pads (pageant) from Europarts for about £120 all in, and took about 20 mins per side. Just make sure you have two 8mm bolts handy to screw into the old discs to pop them off. Hopefully this will come in handy to someone :)
  4. I'm chuffed with my 400 after a week, awesome build quality. If budget allows then I'm sure the 450 is a lot better, but if it's the difference between finance and no finance (as with me), then the 400 ticks all the boxes :)
  5. And finished with a new set of mats ... Look at the state of that old carpet, ridiculous!!! Nothing would shift those stains, disgusting, very glad to see that taken down the tip!!
  6. Carpet from the breakers, minging but after a hoover and shampoo it was like new
  7. Thanks guys, yes those DVD plugs were tricky, but glad to say it was all done in 4 hours, no breakages either - goes to show how well built these cars are - not even a clip broke. I am soooo chuffed with the result, it looks like new, pics to follow...
  8. Yes it is. Put both seats forward to max, slide console back, remove both side panels on console, 6 M10 bolts to remove, disconnect the cable for the handle, disconnect the electrical plug and it lift out. :hocus-pokus:
  9. No idea why this posts 3 times, sorry could the mods delete as appropriate! Cheers
  10. Right, as per my other post, I've got the black carpet from the breakers, and I plan to swap it for my manky light grey one on Saturday. I've read how to remove the centre console, rear seats, and I'll disconnect the battery for 30 mins prior to removing the front seats. The front seats have DVD screens in the headrests, not sure if that'll cause any issues, guessing just an unplug of the cabling. I guess the door threshold plastic strips just pull off. What could possibly go wrong!! Any last tips, tricks and words of encouragement most welcome!

  13. That is loooooovely! Well done, what a good looking car
  14. Yep, search for car transport then send them a message with both postcodes and car model. Then just inform your insurers and you'll be covered :)
  15. I normally get quotes off eBay advertisers - copy and paste it to about 10 companies, you'll be surprised at the cost range
  16. Thanks Dan, that does help for future ref. just got in from doing it, very tricky but manged it and I found £2.68! Also a lot of old sweet wrappers etc. All cleaned and no rattling money now :)
  17. I bit the bullet and bought the black carpet! Still need to find out how to remove the door pocket - I released the two plastic pegs inside the pocket, but couldn't work out how to go from there?
  18. It was this great forum that gave me the idea of Hankooks! Glad they're good. Cheap aswell! So the car is spotless inside now apart from the carpets, can't shift the yellow staining which is everywhere :(. Outside clayed and polished. Knackered. I've found a black carpet at a breakers for £200 delivered - any idea how many hours it'd take me to strip and replace? I know a few of you have done this for leak repairs. Would it look ok do you think? It's light grey interior, so I think it'll look the part, opinions? Lastly anyone know how to remove the front door bin? There's a load of change stuck under my drivers door, could be lucrative! Cheers all,
