  1. Thank you all very much. The Denso blades seem very similar to my existing ones. What does OEM mean please? Thanks again for taking the time to reply. Yours ignorantly
  2. Hi to all out there in Lexus land. The blades on my IS 250 need replacing and on examing the fitting etc it seems that the wiper blades have some sort of special cover and the whole assembly clips on to the wiper arms as normal. Are these some type of special Lexus Blades which need Lexus replacements to preserve the appearance of the car or is it possible to buy other (cheaper) brands? All thoughts and advice will be gratefully received
  3. Hello all I have recently swapped my 2002 IS200 for a 2007 IS250 and have got an annoying "buzzy rattle" which seems to be coming rom the central area of the dashboard. Anybody had any similar experiences with rattles etc? I am a bit miffed about this as my IS250 was completely rattle/buzz free.
  4. Does anyone have any experience of these alloy wheel protectors? Any comments/thought will be gratefully rteceived.
  5. Does anyone have any experience/comments etc about these please?
  6. Thanks Dinho, I thought I WAS in the IS250 section.
  7. Thank you all. I have decide to go with the "attempt resurrection" method. I have asked my local sole owner garage who has said he should be able to improve them for me. I do not have any tools, equipment or energy. I will take the car to him next Tuesday and in the meantime will dose the trims with WD40 to help the corrosion removal process.
  8. Thank you very much Very helpful. Is measurement I need the diameter of the trim that is on the car or another measurement. Apologies for my complete ignorance of all things mechanical. Thanks to all

  10. Thank you very much I contacted my local Lexus dealer today who quoted me £157.35 for a pair which is silly. Does anyone know what size I need and whether I can buy decent quality trims here in the UK? Thanks to all
  11. Hi Gang Where can I get a pair of exhaust trims for my 2010 Is 250 se? Thanks all
  12. Thank you very much. I have sent them an email.
  13. Thank you very much and I expected this to be the case. Many years ago I drove an Escort which had a heated windscreen and I thought it was marvellous. I have often wondered why I have never seen such a useful feature on other cars.
  14. Hello again I have noticed that My 2007 IS 250 SE has a device called a "Windshield Wiper De-Icer" which is described on page 194 of my owner's manual. The description of what this actually does is not very clear (at least to me.) Will using this clear ice off the entire windshield or just free up the wiper arms if they become inoperative due to freezing solid? Again apologies for my ignorance and any info will be gratefully received. Perhaps it is just me but I find modern vehicles very complex and full of items that seem unnecessarily so . I appreciate we live in the gadget age but I have never been fascinated by such things.
  15. Hello all you clever people out there in Lexus Land. I have recently bought a 2007 IS250 SE auto and the dealer gave me a 3 month guarantee with it which will expire in February. I was also told that I can buy and extended guarantee to cover the car after this so does anyone have any advice and / or information they can give me please? Thank you
  16. Thank you wise ones. I have now located the relevant section on page 109 of my owner's manual which seems to be the size of a novel. I had been labouring under the misapprehension that the start/stop button did only that. Stand by for further enquiries
  17. Hi gang I have recently acquired a 2007 IS250 se auto which has keyless entry and other feature which I have not encountered before and , being a simple souls rather feel they are unnecessary complications. It has a start/stop button for the engine but no ignition lock. How can I use the electric features such as the hifi ,windows, mirrors etc without switching the engine on? I am sure I have just given some of you a laugh so please help
  18. Hello folks.

I now have a 2007 IS250 SE and thus far am very pleased.

  19. Hello and many thanks to all of you for your advice and guidance. I am very grateful. In the light of both my own experience with Lexus and your helpful advice I have decided to knock the Mercedes project on the head. This Friday I will be picking up a 2007 Lexus IS 200 SE. Thanks again to you all.
  20. Thank you Newbie. I live on the Isle of Man which is about 38 miles long by about 11 miles wide so low mileage is a common feature. I only do 3 1/2 -4 k pa. No motorways and everything is expensive compared to the other side of the Irish Sea.
  21. Thanks very much to all. Posting a link is beyond my meagre wit but the car can be viewed on the website of Swift Motors, Douglas, Isle of Man
  22. Hello again all and thank for advice concerning the above. I went to see it yesterday and what quite impressed. What troubles me now is that I have heard horror stories of tyres costing £500 and spark plug changes at £600. Being a poor man cursed by a love of nice things and ignorance of cars in general, I was wondering if these figures are true and if there are any other horrendous expenses that the prospective purchaser should be aware of? As usual all comment and thoughts will gratefully received
  23. Hi folks Going to look at this one tomorrow. It's done 48k miles. My questions are how often does the cambelt/timing need changing and are there any problems I should look out for. I know sod all about cars. My present vehicle is a 2002 is 200 which I have had for almost 6 years and is the best car I've owned. All comments, thoughts and advice will be gratefully received
