I had exactly the same thing in my w reg sport. Took it to local Lex dealer who told me that only the Cd part of the unit was covered under the 5 year warranty so strictly speaking he did'nt have to do anything. He ended up exchanging the unit and putting the fault through as a CD player fault!!

Update number started with KB8908.. not sure of the last two digits. The update was at the top of the list but was not the highest number, don't know if this makes any difference or not. Using Norton 2003 with live updates and XP firewall.

Why would the security update change my viewing preferences, ie changing the taskbar to look like something on an Atari game?!! All blocks and big bold letters! Any ideas? How do I know if an update will have the same consequences? I'm already having the same update asking to be installed. :duh: Cheers.

I've tried to get info from two computer forums which came recommended, with not one reply. I should have known better and came here first!!! Is there any way I can undo the last security update? The boot takes about 5 minutes then slowly everything reverts bak to XP infront of my eyes! Very very strange. Should I just hit the big button and format / start again?? STEVE If I go into display I can switch to classic view even although it already seems to be in classic or windows 95 or 98 Firewall WAS on until the after the update then it was off. Last update only last couple of weeks

I've had SP2 for a while now with no issues. I've also been using Linksys with no problems. Everything was fine until the restart after the security updates. System is saying Xp, SP2. I've tried the System restore but it makes no difference! Almost 100% I did not download anything else, I clicked on the yellow shield and installed.......

I'm running xp home edition Last night I downloaded the latest security update from microsoft but when the machine was rebooted, the start up was very slow followed by everything looking like windows 95 or 98. Internet connection lost If I try and find my wireless connection an error message pops up and explorer closes!!!!!!! Any ideas? Anyone..................................

A friend at work has been told by an independant garage that his gear box maybe on the way out due to a click that can be heard outside the car when the clutch pedal is depressed. The noise can only be heard when the car is stationary / idling. 2002 Is 200 Sport Any ideas???? Cheers

I use 70Kg of ballast, 2 buckets of salt and a shovel! The extra weight really does make a difference as to whether I can get out the street or not.

How does the traction control work with the limited slip diff? If one wheel slips and the lsd normally feeds the other, does this render the lsd ineffective unless the traction control is off?

Yep, coolant, at my last (4 year) service the expansion tank was replaced under warranty as it is a known problem.

I eventually went to Lexus GB who did make a difference in getting it sorted and threw in my next service free! To be fair the dealer always agreed that the colour match was unacceptable but they blamed the bodyshop who told me that the guy who normally mixes the paint was on holiday!!!!

I had the same problem with mine after using a Lexus dealer for warranty work on the bodywork. It took 4 attempts to get it right. When I bought the car there was touch up paint left in the car and the garage who carried out the repair also left a touch up pot, the two "colours" are quite different. It was eventually a toyota mix astral black they used.

I Have Ugly Crackling Sound In My Is 200 Panel

I sometimes get a "crackling" sound that comes from the gaitor around the gearstick. Took ages to work out where it came from. Stops when you press near the chrome surround. -

Wiring kit was from brinktowbars.co.uk who supplied the relays from rydertowing.co.uk. I asked my local Lexus dealer if there is a plug in point for trailer wiring but there's none so the 12n and 12s wiring fed straight into the relays then joined into the car's wiring with bullet connectors. Bulb bypass relay fitted TF 2217 (with built in buzzer) Smart combi relay TF 1170 Both relays fed from one 2.5mm wire direct from the battery with in line 15 amp fuse. Hope this helps!

Fitted a Brink detachable last weekend and I'm in the process of fitting twin electrics. Brink towbar number 2973 (same as fitted by Lexus but hell of a lot cheaper from web) £234 inc vat and delivery No bumper cuts required Towbar was fitted in around 90 mins Electrics were almost a quarter the price that Lexus quoted. £62 inc vat and delivery Anyone need any help, don't hesitate to pm. Managed to remove the seal plate without removing the grill. Pair of long nose pliers to puul the clips.
