  1. yes you can, you will have to jiggle the loom a bit to swap them around at the steering column, but they are a direct fit.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I am trying to perform a similar conversion on my IS200.

I managed to get hold of the indicator/wiper stalk assembly from an Altezza, as shown in the picture below:

    Rear.jpg

I was wondering if I could just detach the indicator and wiper stalk modules and swap them over, or would I also have to use the Altezza's centre "mounting frame" as well?

The indicator and wiper stalk modules are just held by two screws onto the mounting frame, as shown below:

    Side.jpg

Reusing the existing mounting frame on my car means that I won't have to remove the steering wheel, and thus makes the conversion a lot more straight-forward.

So the question is, do I have to use the Altezza's mounting frame or can I just slot the new stalk modules into my existing frame? Any advice is very much appreciated, and thank you for your time! B)

  2. I had the 10-year service package done on my car by Lexus in Wolverhampton. Cost me about £260.

From memory, the service replaced the following fluids:

    - Engine oil

    - Brake fluid

    - Coolant

    - Gearbox & Diff oil

    - Air filter & oil filter

    - and a few other bits and pieces

I was greeted by a lady in the service reception called Madeline I think? She quoted me that price.

  3. Hey peeps, apologies for the very basic question...

As far as I'm aware, the IS200 has a twin-cam (DOHC) engine, as mention here and several other sources.

However, I was looking at the cambelt replacement walk-through and noticed that there was only a single sprocket for the camshaft?

I'm new to Toyota engines, but I clearly remember that my Nissan RB20DET motor, which is also a 2-litre DOHC inline-6 unit, has two cambelt sprockets for its twin-camshafts, instead of one.

Could anyone explain to me how does this work in our engines?

  4. Hi guys,

Thanks for the input. It's just that some members on this site have mentioned that they have checked theirs after inital fitting say after 20,000 miles and have found that it has worn to some degree on the cambelt cover i.e. belt has slipped slightly. Maybe the fit was incorrect or tension?

I guess it takes a little getting used to with all the horror stories that the belt can be left for another 60,000!

    Thanks again

You can remove the top cover on the front of the engine and check for yourself the state of your timing belt. If it is thin, replace it.

  5. i have just returned from a trip to a wedding in scotland

445 miles on three quarters of a tank.........

to say i was suprised is an understatement

most of the way was 70 to 80 mph

on cruise,7 and a half hours in total

car was great, my back was a bit sore as i did it in one hit

coming back was the same,a tad longer due to more traffic

    :D

    Wow that's interesting!

I did a Milton Keynes - Edinburgh run over the long weekend holidays. Part M1/M6 steady-speed motorway driving and part spirited A7 twisty road stuff.

64 litres took me 460 miles in my IS200 Sport.

  6. Hello everyone!

I recently picked-up an IS200 Sport, and I thought what would be a better way to introduce myself than to post pics of my new possession!

    So here it goes: :)

I chose the IS200 Sport because spec-wise it reminded me a lot of my old Nissan Skyline GT back home in Australia. I must say that I am very pleased with the overall quality of the IS200 after driving it for the last couple of days!

Just one question, would anyone know if it is possible to swap the indicator and wiper stalks around? The reason I ask is because pretty much every car back home have the indicator stalk on the right side, and this is the arrangement that I am more familiar with :)

    cheers all!

    Ganesh
