I am actually Mr X and I am overwhelmed by your response to my problem. Thanx guys !! I am awaiting a reply from the head of the dealership before taking the matter further (this depends on the reply of course !!) How do I initiate the small claims court option ?

if you contact trading standards and explain to them they are very helpfull and love cases like this,they will point you in the right direction,or just pop into see your local solicitor .

i think trading standards would like to know of this,the dealer needs to be sorted.

think it was around 35 quid,easy to do.open glove box ,look inside at the top,drop the flap,hey presto.

like dave says the kazama is an exact copy of the hiper,same size and sound,very nice,i love mine,get one ordered .

As the title suggests, planning on getting a new set of rims in the next couple of months, and want gun metal / black / graphite to contrast with my Plat Ice paintwork. Don't want two tone or polished lip jobs, nothing too fancy, straight lines - this kinda thing...

there are some rims for sale by pete jenkin,have a search ,very nice,i would have them myself but my wheels are brand new.

being blown away by my wife's TDI Golf

I had a colleague behind me this morning in his 140bhp Audi A3 TDI. I took a very tight bend on a slip road at 70mph and accelerated away and he stuck with me all the way so I was impressed with the handling and performance of the audi. I mentioned I was in the vvti band in 4th and he said he was in 6th I just looked up the figures - his car has 236 lb/ft torque at 1750 rpm compared with 144 lb/ft at 4600 rpm for the IS200. :o And he gets something like 40mpg.

I'm due to pick up a 2000 X Reg Sport in Aztec Fire tommorow which is supposed to be a Sport model but i'm not too sure ... the front grill looks just like any regular IS 200 but I thought the sport model had a mesh type grill like my old Mk1 GS 300 Sport ?  Anybody confirm this and have a pic of the front grill on their IS 200 Sport ?

all the standard grills are the same mate,it will have dark glass in the rear and side windows,chrome tail pipe ,sport pedals,metal efect,sport decals in the rear quarter lights,maybe a two tone steeringwheel if its below 2001.

Just had some toyo proxes t1-r's fitted to the front of the car and have been breaking them in tonight i stepped up the speed a bit and see what they felt like. However on coming down a relatively straight road downhill with a few lumps and bumps i suddenly got a great big movement to the right (like when you get a big gust of wind)  needless to say foot came straight off the loud pedal and i took it easy on the way back.

Now the tyres that came off were wearing on the inside so i am assuming that i either have a toe in or camber setting that needs attention but the lowering springs are getting fitted next week so i don't want to do it twice

My question is can the alignment at the front causer this kind of problem ?

I'm going to wait patiently now till Dr Bones comes and gives me a lowdown  :D

Does anyone know whether or not the altezzas 3s-ge engine would fit straight into a normal is 200? or would there be any modification involved?

also does anyone know where and how much one can be bought for?

The only one you might find difficulty with is the tow bar.

Yes lexus do an offical one, it came with my accessories booklet, but i can remember if a rear lip would interfere with the towbar or no.

Hey I was about to go out this weekend and get a power flow pipe fitted from manifold back. But then i was reading a small review on here by fidgits who said that powerflow arent good for is200 and may loose power due to lack of backpresser.

I want to get as much power as i can and get something from the manifold back, i was going to get the prolex hi flow performance cat and the kazama muffler but thats looking at nearly 600 quid.

I was looking at more round the 500 mark if poss.

Help me as if i dont buy it soon my money will disappear (it has a bad habbit of doing this) : (

i have the kazama,its nice,bit noisy but nice.

Its always difficult comparing two cars when one, or both have been modified...

I think at the 'pod' the golf would take it, just because it has lower down grunt and a slight weight advantage, that would benifit over the 1/4. Over a standing mile, i think an IS with just a S/C would be too close to call...

as for a circuit race, it would all come down to the driver

If you've just bought your IS200 then maybe your just not quite used to the clutch yet? Took me some time to get used to mine  - just give it abit more revs before releasing the clutch gently (hope I don't sound patronising )

i put a new plate in mine and its fine,some have done the same and its the same.

Well after trying both my 2.0l IDE Megane against a non s/c IS200 I can say that my old coupe is faster than a non s/c Lexus.  I put this down to the weight and gearing. 

Ohhh the advantages of having access to motorways that are not open to the public :)

Not having been in a s/c IS200 yet (waiting for Barry to say hop in at the next Grasshopper meet ;) I can't judge that.
