  1. Sounds like it, cannot see that the metal pipes are leaking, possible leaking from one of the two rubber connection pipes, either way, I think that the only way to access the pipes/connectors is to remove the radiator or the front bumper/spoiler...think I'll try removing the bumper first..🤔

  2. Hard to get a photo as it's situated below the thermostat housing, appears to be bolted to the engine, has quite a few pipes going through it, of different sizes🤔 strange that it's not seen on any online videos of is300, maybe it's a flux capacitor 🗓️

  3. So getting the thermostat housing off was not possible as one of the nuts cannot be removed due to there being some sort of silver cannister obstructing it 😠 . What the heck is this thing? Online videos do not show this cannister🤔🤔🤔

  4. So mechanic got a long mirror and a torch down there and diagnosed leak from thermostat housing, which is good news as reckon easy job to replace thermostat and o ring. Apart from the original Lexus coolant, is there another pink coolant that is okay to use?

  5. Checked coolant today, surprised that is needed 2 liters to bring up to top of radiator 🤔

Noticed that water is leaking from somewhere on the left of engine block, trouble is that it leaking from lower down, so can't get a view of exactly where it's leaking from, need to put up on a ramp but Santa never brought me one at Xmas 😠 is there a water hose or fitting down there that could be causing the leak?

  6. So. Oil was changed yesterday by local garage (couldn't be arsed laying underneath it) and oil not really black at all, and no swarf stuck to magnetic drain plug either. My car has LSD but still took 1.5 litres of oil to refill though,  🤔

  7. Good point, have just ordered a litre of Fuchs 75w90 synthetic oil, will be interesting to see how much (if any) of the original oil is still in there as I've owned the car from 50k and has now done 205k, and I've never changed it !!
