  1. That sounds good but i'm thinking that there must be a down side to this ie possible loss of "smoothness" or vibration. Has anyone actualy done this conversion and can verify the pro's and cons?

  2. I know that its possible to change the original (expensive)fly wheel to a single mass. Is it straight forward "swap" or do any mods have to be done?

    Assuming that the reason for duel mass is to smooth out vibration etc, then fitting a single mass (although cheaper) is not such a good idea...or am I wrong??

  3. Replacing the clutch on my car has cured the annoying cluch judder and has made the drive a lot smoother. There was apparently a tad of "play" in the flywheel but took the chance not to change it as new duel mass was silly money and not sure if changing to a single would give any side affects.

    Still got a slight whine mainly through 1st to 2nd gears but dont know if this is caused by the flywheel or gearbox, would be nice to have this sorted but without changing one or the other I cant see any way of knowing exactly what the cause is....

  4. Hi guys,

    Just bought a 2002 is200 sport with 3600 miles/full history etc. Never driven one before and have a few niggles with it.

    1/ whine from gearbox area between 1st and 2nd gear

    2/ slight clutch judder sometimes when hot

    3/ metalic grating noise when at idle, but goes when clutch is depressed

    Have booked it in to have the clutch/bearing/plate and spiggot bearing replaced assuming that this will cure the above, is it viable to have the dual mass flywheel changed to a single as well? Ive heard that Jun is a good replacement? Is there any noticable benefits to fitting the single mass flywheel as it is not cheap!!
