  1. As another 200k+ owner I don't have the blacked out LCD. Do have the flickering needle, lack of backlight, non-working radio though. Don't know about PAS but coolant was leaking before and although I thought I sorted it out, the smoke out of the exhaust pipe is, how should we say, billowing.
  2. Pictures will be forthcoming. Needs a bit of a clean (and to disguise all the horrible bits!). I paid a mighty £500 for it. MOT until next Sep and tax until April. In an ideal world I would have got one like the beauty on gumtree at the moment. Although in an ideal world I wouldn't use the internet under the influence either. :D
  3. Evening all, Just picked up my bargin barge for a song. However, one of the more annoying niggles is the lack of radio. Antenna motion works as does the CD player. Not sure about the cassette. The radio scans but won't actually play anything. The digits appear on the screen but no noise is made. I was wondering whether it was a fuse but surely the CD wouldn't work either?! Backlight to the radio is gone too but at the moment that's a rather minor issue! Any thoughts most welcome. Regards
  4. Sure you would have seen this but posting it nonetheless http://ls400data.com/buyersGuide.html Just taken the plunge myself on a 1996 model (didn't take any of the advice!).
  5. Hi Charlie, What's happened with the wheels so far? I'm now in the opposite situation, wanting stock wheels because they look boring!
  6. Evening all, Just won myself a drunken ebay bid for a LS400 with starship mileage. Dropping into Lexus ownership far earlier than expected but looking forward to it nonetheless. Look forward to contributing to the forums.
  7. I'm on the look out myself (probably will start really seriously looking next year when we're back in recession and petrol is even more expensive!!) for one of these. Apart from the obvious fuel, insurance and tax costs, what's the realistic running costs for other consumables such as tyres, brakes and servicing from non-Leus dealers like? Did have a look with the search function but nothing seemed to come up (perhaps I'm doing it wrong?) Maduggo, could you please post up the link for that buyers guide please? I'm aware of the issues with bushes, suspension, water pump, LCDs etc that seem common but anything else would be handy.
